Check out the specification renderings we created for @harperporsche’s #CarreraGT restoration project! We assisted their team in designing a new specification to adorn their 980 for this year’s Porsche Classic #PorscheChallenge26. The concept was to create something that would have been possible to order in period with a Paint to Sample x Sonderwunsch allocation, whilst retaining the key elements and details that make the Carrera GT a design icon over 20 years after its debut. Deep research was conducted into both standard and special tailoring options from the period to craft this specification. Key details were deliberated as if ordering the vehicle from new. We crafted the base specification, before taking a few liberties and lifting some materials from @porsche’s present day palette. Stay tuned for the final details! #CarraraDesign

Our ‘Individualization’ 964 Carrera RS initially took shape as a cosmetic effort during our rebuilding year — a fun project meant to keep stress levels down as we operate in a temporary showroom and shop facility while our new Gen 5 Porsche Center is constructed — but quickly evolved into an all-encompassing effort as we never do things in half-measures. To that end, our philosophy underlying this build has been to create a no-holds-barred 964 Carrera RS in the same vein as Sonderwunsch utilizing the best of Porsche’s standard production, Classic, and Motorsport catalogues plus a host of thoughtfully-chosen aftermarket components from independent specialists and OE suppliers. Starting from the outside, our painters at our Porsche-certified Harper Collision Center formulated their own Chromaflair-style paint utilizing Porsche’s Oak Green Metallic as a core color with bursts of bright greens, delicate blues, and even brilliant gold tones depending on the light and viewing angle; the paint extends to the three-piece Speedline for Porsche wheels’ discs, center caps, and the 993-sourced door handles for maximum continuity. The car’s amber front indicators and side marker lenses were also replaced in an effort to better highlight the green tones in the paint. Inside, the RS’s focused approach to function and weight reduction has been respected but also built upon. Black leather and Alcantara provide a neutral counterpoint to expressive flashes of green leather, matched green RS door releases, 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel, “Carrera RS” carpet embroidery, and the bespoke gauges whose markers reference Porsche’s inextricable connection to timekeeping. The matte carbon fiber dashboard, upper door panels, center console, and ignition surround add an element of exoticism while also saving crucial pounds over the originals.
