Is this the bluest water in Idaho?
Hidden away in the desert, this aquifer is breathtaking.

Send to your summer adventure friend and follow @earthtosarahphoto to discover the most unique places around Idaho! (And beyond!)

Idaho state parks cost $7 to visit for the day. You can see all of them nearby all for the one day pass! Locals can get the $10 state park pass for all of Idaho at the dmv too.

📍 Thousand Springs State Park has a visitor center located in Hagerman, Idaho where you can find all the information you need on accessing this water. I also have a blog to guide you on this road trip, let me know if you’d like it!

This specific waterfall and blue water river is flowing all around Ritter Island which opens Memorial Day (this weekend!) The water is very cold but so gorgeous!!!

Leave no trace always. No trash ever left behind. Be kind to those around you. It can get busy down here on popular days! Kayak and swim here but beware; the water is freezing cold! Stay safe and happy trails. 💙

Please let my headstone read “and she was a really good dog mom.”

Here’s to another beautiful summer camping and hiking with the pups.
🌲🌻🏕️🪻🌞

If you’ve got a pet or two of your own I’m sure you understand how precious these little beings are to me. We spend all day everyday together and I truly cannot imagine life without them. Atlas and Apollo, love you so much.💜

How many eagles can fit in one tree?

📍 Hagerman, Idaho

The Eagle Tree in Hagerman is so fascinating. Dozens of bald eagles fly in each year to spend their winter here.

When viewing them yourself please be quiet! Don’t approach. Bring binoculars or a zoom lens like I did. Shot on my @sonyalpha 7riii, with my 70-200 mm.

They are on private property so you can only view from a distance. Find them all around the Hagerman Valley like at the state parks, and even lined up on irrigation pivots along the farm fields.

Leave no trace, be respectful! Support a local business nearby.

📌 Adelmann Mine

💪🏻 Moderately Challenging Trail
.
🔄 4.7 mile out and back ⬆️ 1322 elevation gain
.
🌿Beautiful views of green mountains are offered during the full hike.
.
🐶Dogs are allowed but must be on leash for this trail.
.
🛖 The mine is such an incredible structure and it was cool to be able to walk through and see the old tools used. It’s a bummer so many people have decided to vandalize this structure.
.
🌞There is no shade on this trail. Be sure to wear a hat, glasses, protective clothing and start early to not have direct sunlight and heat.
.
💦Always pack enough water for yourself & your dog. This is not a shaded trail so it can get rather warm in the middle of the day.

🤔Here’s the thing about Southern Idaho, most people drive right through it and have no idea what they’re missing.
.
👀 Hidden inside the Snake River Canyon is one of the most epic waterfall road trips in the entire West!
.
👇📋 Complete Guide
.
💦 Shoshone Falls — The “Niagara of the West.” 212 feet tall. 900 feet wide. One of the largest natural waterfalls in the US. Best in early spring — check flows before you go because she does go dry. And yes, you can kayak right up to this beauty.
.
💦 Twin Falls — The waterfall that named the city. 📍 Twin Falls Park has a boat launch where you can put in and paddle through one of the most stunning canyon settings you’ve ever seen.
.
💦 Box Canyon — Crystal clear water, a 20-foot waterfall & the 11th largest spring in North America. 180,000 gallons per minute pour into the Snake River. Let that sink in.
.
💦 Perrine Coulee — 200 feet of free fall, right off the road in Twin Falls. Flows year-round. You can see it from the canyon rim trail OR walk behind it. Yes, behind it.
.
💦 Ross Falls — A quick 0.4-mile out-and-back that punches way above its weight. 40-foot drop, dog-friendly, off-leash welcome, and totally kid-friendly. One of my favorites.
.
💦 Thousand Springs State Park — Six units to explore in one of the most rugged and magical corners of Magic Valley. Give yourself time. You’re going to want it.
.
💦 Pillar Falls — Towering Rhyolite pillars + cascading falls. Best explored late summer and fall when water levels drop and you can walk among them. No swimming 🏊 just vibes.
.
⚠️ A few things to know before you go:
🥶 The water is COLD. Life-choice-questioning cold.
🥾 Wear real shoes.
🚯 Leave No Trace. Always.
.
🤯The craziest part? This isn’t even all of them!

The most iconic trip to the mountains ever⛅️🩵✨

Early July trips to the Tetons are so dreamy. Here are all the places and adventures I highly recommend:

✨Stay at @togwoteelodge to be heading in the opposite direction of the crowds in Jackson, and enjoy the peace up in the forest. (gifted collaboration) Not to mention, the view of the Tetons right outside of the lodge is BREATHTAKING. There are food options right here like the Grizzly Grill and the Red Fox Saloon.

✨See amazing views of the Tetons by taking the Teton Overlook ATV Tour with @scenicsafaris . I had sooo much fun cruising around the forest and then seeing incredible open views of the Tetons!

✨Watch sunrise/sunset at Oxbow Bend, Glacier View Turnout, and definitely right outside of Togwotee Lodge.

✨Kayak on Jackson Lake at @signalmtnlodge . There are also boat rentals available! Dine at the Trapper Grill.

✨Hike Delta Lake (make sure to get to the parking lot by 7am!) Delta Lake is about 8 miles round trip and 2,300 ft elevation gain. Be bear aware!!!

✨Find wildflowers all along Hwy 191 and on other dirt roads around the National Forest. July is the best time to see them bloom!

TIPS:
Leave no trace everywhere you visit. I carried bear spray with me the entire time just to be safe since I was solo traveling. Always take the food out of your vehicle when staying at the lodge, and while hiking. Pack extra water always, all your favorite snacks, and happy trails!

🏔️Crystal-clear, impossibly blue water. Wildflowers everywhere. Mountain views. A quiet little lake tucked away at the end of a rugged Idaho adventure.
.
🚙 Located about 2 hours from Boise, Blue Lake is a beautiful escape near Cascade that feels worlds away from everyday life. But getting there is part of the adventure!
.
⚠️ The road to the lake is very bumpy and dirt, and conditions can become difficult in rain or snow. A reliable vehicle is highly recommended.
.
🥾 THE HIKE:
The Blue Lake Trail is about 1.3 miles round trip and rated moderately difficult, with nearly 1,600 feet of elevation gain/loss. The descent takes roughly 15 minutes, while the climb back up can take around 45 minutes.
.
😍You’ll get panoramic views of Long Valley and Lake Cascade, and there’s also an option to hike around the entire lake for roughly a 3-mile loop.
.
🌼 Wildflowers? YES.
🎣 Fishing? YES.
🩱 Swimming? YES.
🧺 Picnic by the water? ABSOLUTELY.
.
🅿️ There is parking and a bathroom at the trailhead, but there are no facilities at the lake itself.
.
🚮 And please — Leave No Trace.
Pack out everything you bring in, stay on the trail, leave the wildflowers where they belong, and help keep this incredible place beautiful for the next person who discovers it.

Happy Winter Solstice❄️

Today is officially the shortest day of the year so whatever you want to do is acceptable hahahaha. After today our daylight slowly starts to come back and I love to see it as an opportunity to reset.

Be safe in all the fresh snow, and keep dancing for snow to get more on our ski hills!

Shot on my drone on a beautiful day a couple weeks ago - we were watching the snow fall and couldn’t resist pulling over on our way down from McCall to shoot the iconic bridge!

The process of organizing a group trip with TourHero from a creators perspective:

First you will have a couple calls with TourHero to chat and come up with a bit of a plan. What places are you wanting to take your community? What is the tone you are setting for the trip? What do you want to do?

You will then want to put a feeler survey out on your stories! Ask your community (and friends!) if they would be interested in visiting the country you chose, and if the activities sound like something they’d book. Feel out what the budget is with them for this trip!

TourHero will create the itinerary for you by using their local connections. They are able to lock in a group price with the vendors to get the BEST deal possible for you. This includes accommodations, transportation, activities and more!

You get to edit that itinerary as you please! I added and took away a couple activities from my original itinerary. This could include choosing more affordable attractions if you would like to lower the price, or maybe a more adventurous option to up the excitement game. Whatever aligns with your preferences, TourHero and their respective partners will make happen! They also make sure you are supporting locals, and invest in the communities you tour in.

Once you launch the itinerary you have to fill 6 spots on the trip. The best way to get the word out is to share to your stories, and create posts! I highly recommend asking your friends who have always wanted to travel with you to join, and definitely invite all the strangers to meet new friends!

As the trip approaches TourHero will send you your exact itinerary & a plan of how arrivals will go. They also provide packing lists, advice messages, and everything you need to be prepared. During the trip they assign a local guide to you, and they will facilitate all trip coordination. So you can enjoy meeting new people and creating memories together.

Do you have any questions about becoming a TourHero?

10 places to visit this spring in Idaho (guide by a local photographer!)

(Save, send, and follow @earthtosarahphoto for more hiking & adventuring inspiration!)

If it was my first spring visiting Idaho, this is where I’d visit…

1. Hagerman Valley where you can find multiple state parks (Thousand Springs) that all have beautiful blue water!

2. Boise Foothills bloom every spring! Hike the four grand slam hikes and you will see all the stunning flowers and views.

3. Shoshone Falls; the Niagara of the West. This 212 foot waterfall rushes only in the spring time.

4. Lowman is a sleepy town with incredible camping and hot springing. You can find 3+ wild hot springs nearby as well as stunning views.

5. Stanley in the spring is perfect for a relaxing weekend at lower elevation alpine lakes and mountain drives.

6. Fairfield blossoms with Camas Lilies!

7. Sawtooth National Forest opens up forest roads where you can find even more hot springs.

8. Snake River Canyon in Twin Falls specifically has dozens of waterfalls flowing this time of year!

9. City of Rocks is blooming and the park shows off gorgeous views of granite! Perfect springtime camping.

10. Gooding Wilderness Areas lead to arches, more camas lilies and even caves.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR VISITING! Idaho stays clean! You cannot leave trash anywhere, no tagging, no picking the flowers, and please just leave every location better than how you found it. Camp only in designated campgrounds and never leave your fires unattended. Leave no trace, and happy exploring!

Comment or message me if you need any additional information about these springtime in Idaho locations!

When your sunset photo session almost gets ruined!!!
@bluetti_official is there to save the day. 😂 #paidpartnership

My favorite thing to do when we’re home is taking the dogs to the canyon rim for a little sunset adventure. But since we’ve been traveling so much lately my camera is almost always dead hahaha.

Very grateful I had my Bluetti to charge up while I played with the dogs. It was perfect timing to get some fun shots for sunset.

In need of a charging station for all your adventures too? Use code SARAH5OFF2 for 5% off!

There is so much to do on the Hawaiian island of Kauai!

(Follow @earthtosarahphoto for fun places to travel as someone who loves taking photos of really cool places!!)

Favorite hikes & photos spots in Kauai:

✨ Napali Coast - the easiest way to see the Napali Coast is by helicopter! We took a doors off tour! We were unable to get parking permits to hike here so do research before visiting if you’d rather explore by foot.

✨ Take a snorkling tour and boat ride to the Napali Coast! We drove into an Open Ceiling Cave, cruised along next to dozens of dolphins, and snorkeled with turtles. This is significantly cheaper than the Heli Tour - so if you can’t do that, do this!

✨ Haena Beach Park - incredibly beautiful beach on the North Shore! There is very limited parking here so drive over early! We walked all along the shore, but had to walk along the road about a mile to make it to the photo spot. Usually you can walk the shore but the lifeguard let us know the waves were pretty crazy so we walked around.

✨ Koke’e State Park - we started at the lookout at the end of the park to see the Napali Coast again, then went for a hike at Awa’awapuhi Trail!

✨Awa’awapuhi Trail - this is a demanding hike!!! Going down goes kinda quick and you lose a lot of elevation. Watch for tree stumps and slick mud! Going back up is steep. Bring water. We snacked at the stunning lookout where the photo was taken!

✨ Poipu has tons of beaches that have turtles! Be respectful and never get close. This turtle picture was taken behind a ropes off beach with my @sonyalpha G 2.8 70-200mm!

✨ Waimea Canyon State Park - the photo is from our Helicopter ride, but we did visit the overlook to see the orange canyon! It’s really pretty and has lovely hikes to explore more.

✨ Road side beaches on the North Shore - search along n maps to find little pull outs! Be careful with sneaker waves and please don’t leave a single piece of trash. If you see any take it with you and throw it out to help keep the beaches clean.

✨Look out for Rainbow Eucalyptus trees!!! We found them at Keahua Arboretum northwest of Lihue.
