The bought land for $237K and turned it into something worth more than 100x that! 😮 Here are some of my main takeaways: 1. There’s more opportunity when you do less, better. 2. Narrowing down your ideal customer (ie, no kids) can be daunting, BUT if you’re offer is firm, people will find the value. 3. People remember how you MAKE THEM FEEL! One more big announcement… (last two slides)
After 22 unforgettable years, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to step away from @needtobreathe. This band has been my life’s work, my passion, and my brotherhood for more than half my life. Together, we’ve built something truly special—music that’s moved hearts, healed wounds, and sparked joy across the world. To every fan who’s ever sung along, attended a concert, shared our music with a friend, or lived your life to our music: THANK YOU. Your love and support have meant more than I can ever put into words. You’ve been the fuel behind this dream. Your stories of how the music has impacted you is hands down my favorite thing and the #1 reason I had a 22 year career in music. This decision comes from a deep place of love—for my family, for my daughter Amma, and for the future we’re building together. I’ve missed too many firsts, and I don’t want to miss another. For much of the first year of Amma’s life she called cell phones “Dada” because that’s all she saw of me. It’s time for me to be home, to support my wife @toribolt, and to be present for the miracles unfolding in our home. I’ll be sharing more tomorrow about my time with Needtobreathe and what’s to come… until then, let’s celebrate 22 years of unforgettable memories!!

For the first time ever, I got to watch @needtobreathe…as a fan. No guitar. No in-ears. Just me, the music, and a thousand memories flooding in.

I stood shoulder to shoulder with my wife and brother in the crowd. I thought about the long drives. The big dreams. The fans. The way God has shown up again and again through every song, every season, every step. It’s a rare gift to watch something you helped build keep growing, keep glowing. After more than 2 decades, last night it was time to say goodbye to @needtobreathe. I can’t think of a better place to do it than Knoxville. Two shows in one day, surrounded by friends and family. To my fans, you showed up so loudly. I was overwhelmed in the best way. Every sign, every heart, every lightning bolt means the world to me. I saw it all. I felt it all. My heart is full this morning. What a beautiful finish. I’m excited to watch the next chapter of NEEDTOBREATHE unfold, this time from the other side of the stage... as a fan. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. 🙌

What we learned spending time with @chipgaines & @joannagaines at Silobration: You can be a world-class host—whether you’re high-energy or quietly magnetic. Chip’s hilarious & unfiltered while Jo’s calm strength draws people in. You don’t have to stick to the script. Watching them felt like a mirror: the guys are spontaneous and can go off the rails, us gals keep the program on track and on time. Making people feel seen goes a long way. I was standing back a bit to give the band their space with the Gaines and Jo pulled me into the circle. Consistency is key —they’ve had the same vision, same place, same heart for over a decade. Surrounded by family. Grounded in faith. Celebrate all the milestones along the way. Chip’s office looked like a museum of all the clips and mementos they’ve gathered over the years. We were in awe. Still humble, kind, and present—the same Chip & Jo we met 6 years ago (see last pic). Oh, and… Joanna follows @boltfarmtreehouse and said she wants to visit! 🤯🤩 If (when) she does, should she bring Chip for a romantic getaway… or her sister for a girls’ trip? 👇
