We were honoured to welcome His Majesty The King to officially open Guinness Open Gate Brewery London in Covent Garden today.
 
His Majesty toured The Brewery and tasted a selection of craft beers brewed on site. In the 232° Bar, His Majesty poured the perfect pint of Guinness before meeting graduates of our Learning for Life hospitality training programme.
 
The festive celebrations continued through at Old Brewer’s Yard, where The King met a group of local businesses and community groups before unveiling a plaque to commemorate the opening.

Our CEO, Sir Dave Lewis, and Taoiseach, Micheál Martin TD, have officially opened Littleconnell Brewery in County Kildare, Ireland. The state-of-the-art facility is:

- An investment of almost €300 million, producing ales and lagers including Rockshore, Harp and Smithwick's.

- Powered by 100% renewable electricity, and led to the creation of 650 jobs during construction and 50 permanent roles.

- Part of our near €1 billion capital investment programme across the island of Ireland between 2020 and 2029.

Part of our wider investment also includes an approximate €400 million investment for a second brewery at the site, which will be dedicated to the production of Guinness and Guinness 0.0 and will more than double total site capacity. Work starts this year.

The season also saw the second year of our Responsible Drinking campaign: "Take a Minute. Make a Plan." Partnering with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the NFL and Uber, we encouraged fans to plan their journeys home safely, and never drive impaired.
