Viral Soup Dumpling Lasagna Recipe 🥟 If you love soup dumplings, you need to try this layered soup dumpling lasagna. It combines all the juicy, savory flavors of classic Chinese dumplings with an easy, steamed lasagna-style technique. Ingredients • 8–10 oz minced pork • 4–5 shiitake mushrooms, finely diced • 1/2 cup cabbage, finely diced • 1 tsp ginger, minced or grated (plus slivers for topping) • 1 tsp garlic, minced or grated • 2 tsp green onion, chopped (reserve some for topping) • 1 tbsp soy sauce • 1 tbsp cooking wine • 1 tsp oyster sauce • 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon • 1 tsp sesame oil • 1/2 tsp sugar • 1/2 tsp white pepper • Water • 1 package wonton wrappers (Hong Kong–style preferred) • Optional: chili garlic crunch Directions 1. Combine all filling ingredients in a bowl and mix well by hand. Reserve some green onion and ginger for garnish. 2. In a 4-oz ramekin (this recipe makes about 4), alternate layers of pork mixture and wonton wrappers. 3. Add water until the wonton wrappers are fully submerged. 4. Steam over medium-high heat for 15 minutes. 5. Remove immediately, top with green onion and ginger, and enjoy hot. Add chili garlic crunch if you want heat. Notes • Assemble ahead, but add water only right before steaming. • Best eaten immediately to keep the dumpling wrappers silky, not mushy. • Extra filling can be folded into wontons and cooked separately. Thanks to @painkllrapril @saltnpiipa for the inspiration! #soupdumplinglasagna #dumplingrecipe #homecooking #comfortfood #xiaolongbao

Is this the Best Peking Duck in Houston? Finally made it to Maison Chinoise in the River Oaks Shopping Center and their Peking duck is pretty amazing -- crispy skin, moist, tender meat, great flavor —I definitely approve. At $98 for the whole bird, it’s a splurge but the chef comes from the Wing Lei in Las Vegas (first Chinese restaurant to get Michelin stars in 2005) so the math works. Also, they don’t have room at the restaurant to carve it table-side but there’s an open window into the kitchen where you can watch them carve it (ask your server to give you a heads up before they start carving). Aside from the Peking duck, you can expect upscale American-style Chinese in a stunning, dress-to-impress setting: dim sum, General Tso’s, wagyu, truffle fried rice. It’s got “date night” and “girls’ night” energy all at once. If you love Chinese food and you’re ready for a night out that feels a little extra, give Maison Chinoise a try. Cocktails leaned a little sweet for my taste but service was excellent. Reservations can also be a bit hard to get for peak times. 📍Maison Chinoise 1958 W Gray St Suite 102, Houston, TX 77019 #PekingDuck #MaisonChinoise #HoustonEats

This might be the closest you can get to Japan without leaving Houston. Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera brings the fun of Japanese conveyor belt sushi to Houston, with sushi, sashimi and handrolls arriving right at your table. The Ginza Onodera restaurant group is also known for its Michelin-starred sushi concept in Tokyo, making the quality here especially notable. Right now, the Tokyo Summer menu features a bluefin tuna flight, handroll flight, scallop sushi and engawa sushi, available through the end of August. The sushi rice is excellent, the fish is generously cut, and the quality for the price is impressive. The conveyor belt makes the experience especially fun. For me, the best conveyor belt sushi you can find in Houston. 📍 Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera @kaiten_onodera_houston 12270 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077 Houston, TX Thanks to Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onadera for partnering with me on this post. #HoustonSushi #HoustonJapaneseFood #HoustonRestaurants #HoustonFood #KaitenSushi

Looking for the best bánh mì in Houston? 🥖 I tried 6 bánh mì sandwiches at The Banh Mi Company on Bellaire Blvd, and my favorites were the No. 1 Crispy Pork Belly and the No. 6 Cold Cut Combo with xíu mại meatballs. They bake their bread fresh daily and make their own crispy pork belly, char siu, and xíu mại in-house. Every sandwich is generously filled, packed with flavor, and most are just $5.75–$6.75. If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese food in Houston or searching for a hidden gem in Houston’s Asiatown, this spot is worth the visit. 📍The Banh Mi Company 11528 Bellaire Blvd D, Houston, TX 77072 Which bánh mì would you order first? #HoustonEats #HoustonFood #BanhMi #VietnameseFood #HoustonRestaurants

𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏: 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒊 𝑯𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒖𝒄𝒉𝒊 Sushi Horiuchi may be the most exciting restaurant to ever open in Houston. Certainly, it’s one of the most exclusive. Eponymously named for chef Manabu Horiuchi, or Hori-san, it’s a six-seat omakase with just one seating per night. After shaping Houston’s sushi scene with Kata Robata and Katami, this is the final restaurant he plans to open before retirement, and it feels thoughtful rather than flashy. The experience runs about 21 courses, moving from warm and cold starters to sashimi, nigiri, and dessert. Ingredients are sourced seasonally from Japan, and there are numerous “wow” moments throughout the meal. The setting is intimate but relaxed. He makes you feel as if you’ve been welcomed into his home. Reservations are already sold out for the month, with just six new seats released each day, so it’ll be difficult to secure, but absolutely worth the effort. At $300 per person, with an optional sake pairing, this is the closest you’ll get to Japan without boarding a plane. Easily on par with the best omakase experiences anywhere, and one Houston should be very proud of. 📍Sushi Horiuchi 2701 W Dallas St, Houston, TX 77019 reservations via Resy #sushihoriuchi #omakase #houstonsushi #houstonrestaurants

One of the BEST sandwiches in Houston! 🇮🇹🥪 If you’re looking for an Italian sandwich in Houston, put Cotto e Crudo Enoteca on your list. This little Italian restaurant specializes in panuozzo, a traditional Italian sandwich made with freshly baked pizza bread. I tried the CRUDO, and it’s easily one of my favorite sandwiches in Houston. It’s HUGE (definitely shareable!) and stuffed with prosciutto crudo, creamy burrata, arugula and sun-dried tomato pesto. The bread is what really makes it. Crisp and blistered outside, soft and chewy inside, with excellent ingredients throughout. It genuinely reminded me of eating in Italy. 10/10. Cotto e Crudo also serves Italian pizza, pasta, salads and wine, but I’m coming back for this panuozzo. ❤️ 📍 Cotto e Crudo Enoteca 4340 Westheimer Rd, Suite 150 Houston, TX 77027 Save this for the next time you’re searching for the best sandwiches or Italian food in Houston — and follow me for more honest Houston food recommendations! #HoustonFood #HoustonRestaurants #HoustonFoodie #ItalianFoodHouston #HoustonEats

Looking for the best banh mi in Houston? Don Cafe is a longtime Vietnamese restaurant on Bellaire Boulevard in Houston’s Chinatown, known for affordable banh mi sandwiches starting at just $5.75–$6. 🥖🇻🇳 This old-school Houston banh mi shop has been serving the community for more than 20 years, and on weekends, there’s still a line out the door. I tried four of their Vietnamese sandwiches: 🥖 Thit nuong banh mi — grilled pork with a runny egg. The pork was a little dry and could have used more flavor for me, but it’s one of their most popular orders. 🥖 Dac biet banh mi — the classic Vietnamese cold cut sandwich was really good and a solid choice. 🥖 Xiu mai banh mi — Vietnamese meatball, another winner. 🥖 Bi banh mi — shredded pork skin tossed with spicy fish sauce. This was the sleeper hit and my surprise favorite. Don’t skip the Vietnamese chicken curry, either. You can order it with rice, noodles, or banh mi. And the bread deserves its own mention: crispy outside, light and pillowy inside, without shredding the roof of your mouth. 🙌 Not everything was a hit for me, but Don Cafe gets a lot right: affordable prices, consistent food, easy parking, and a bustling dining room that shows why it remains one of Houston’s most enduring Vietnamese banh mi shops. And I love hearing the longtime Hispanic staff take and deliver orders in Vietnamese. Only in Houston. ❤️ SAVE this for your next Houston Chinatown food crawl. 💵 CASH ONLY 📍 Don Cafe 9300 Bellaire Blvd Houston, TX 77036 Have you been to Don Cafe? New Premium Korean BBQ in Houston 🔥 Taste of Korea brings a premium, à la carte Korean BBQ experience to Chinatown. Here, USDA Prime cuts with serious marbling—bone-in short rib, prime beef short ribs, beef tongue, and marinated LA galbi—are all grilled tableside to perfection. This isn’t all-you-can-eat. It’s all about quality over quantity. The boneless prime short rib was so good, we ordered it twice. Prices range from $28-$59 a la carte for prime beef cuts, so expect to pay about $40-$50 per person for beef. They also had pork and chicken in the $35 price range. You can get combos as well, but we like what we like so we order a la carte. Your table gets a full banchan spread with 12+ rotating and refillable side dishes with all orders. Their haemul pajeon seafood pancake was also good, if you want more than the banchan. There’s also great updraft ventilation (so you don’t leave smelling like the grill). Service is attentive, and the space is clean, spacious and modern. For me, easily one of the best Korean BBQ spots in Houston right now. If you’re looking for high-quality Korean BBQ in Houston Chinatown, check it out! 📍Taste of Korea BBQ 6968 Wilcrest Dr Ste A, Houston, TX 77072 #HoustonFood #HoustonEats #KoreanBBQ #HoustonRestaurants ChinatownHouston

Best dim sum in Houston? 🥟 Crown Seafood in Houston’s Chinatown made my recent guide to the best dim sum restaurants in Houston for The Infatuation. But not everything on the menu is equally good, so here’s exactly what I recommend ordering, as well as what I’d skip. WHAT TO ORDER AT CROWN SEAFOOD: ✅ Giant stuffed crab claw — it’s almost as big as my face ✅ Siu mai ✅ Crispy shrimp balls ✅ Stuffed tofu ✅ Jalapeños stuffed with shrimp WHAT’S JUST OK: - Har gow - Cheung fun - Ham sui gok - Steamed Chinese broccoli - Egg tarts WHAT TO SKIP: ❌ Xiao long bao — you can definitely find better soup dumplings in Houston, and it’s not a Cantonese specialty so skip these Crown Seafood is an excellent Houston dim sum restaurants for large groups and family gatherings because the dining room is MASSIVE. Best Thai Food and Boat Noodles in Houston?🍜 My Thai friend insisted I try Me Khun in Katy, and after one bite, I understood why. This family-owned restaurant is run by a husband-and-wife team who both attended culinary school in Thailand, and it shows in every dish that comes out of the kitchen. The boat noodles are the star of the show, but don’t stop there. The shrimp fritters were plump and crispy, the grilled pork skewers with sticky rice were juicy and packed with flavor, the crispy pork belly was insane, not to mention their whole steamed fish, pad woon sen, pork jowl, corn salad, coconut egg souffle, and mango sticky rice. Seriously. SO GOOD! On Google it has a near perfecf 4.9 rating and I hear the lunch always packed! This is a true hidden gem, one most authentic Thai restaurants I’ve found in the Houston area approved by my Thai friends, so show them some love and get there before they get discovered. This place the real deal. 📍 Me Khun Delicacies Thai Restaurant 1321 N Westgreen Blvd No. 300, Katy, TX 77449 #HoustonFoodie #HoustonRestaurants #KatyTX #ThaiFoodHouston #BoatNoodlesHouston

Here’s how to score 50% off pizza and booze at a Michelin-rated restaurant in Houston. 🍕✨ Rosie Cannonball, a Michelin Bib Gourmand for the last two years, runs a reverse happy hour from 9–10pm, Tuesday through Sunday where pizza and booze gets slashed in half. That means pizzas for $10–12 and cocktails for $7–8 instead of the usual full-price hit. A little late-night magic, a lot of savings. Now you know. You’re welcome. 😉 Got a great deal I should check out? Drop it in the comments! #HoustonFoodie #HoustonEats #HoustonHappyHour

Pinkerton’s BBQ, a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient, has opened a new location on Shepherd in the former 59 Diner space, making it even easier for those in Upper Kirby, Montrose, and River Oaks to enjoy craft Texas barbecue inside the loop. Expect favorites like giant beef ribs, brisket with a pronounced bark, pulled pork, and pork ribs. Sides include okra and tomatoes, honey slaw, and beef tallow fries. We visited during the week and there was no wait, with ample on-site parking available. We visited during the week and there was no wait, with ample on-site parking available. ✨New location: Ramen Tatsuya ✨ 🍜 Ramen Tatsuya just opened its second Houston location at Town & Country Village, bringing their Austin-born tonkotsu broth to the west side. Known for rich, properly simmered pork broth (the old-school way—no shortcuts), this mini chain gets the fundamentals right. What we ordered: crisp house salad, spicy chili gyoza, spicy miso ramen, and tsukemen dipping noodles. The broth is solid, the gyoza delivers, and while longtime fans may notice the updated tsukemen broth (I did), it’s still a solid bowl. Bonus points for the bold, graphic interiors and oversized rope lanterns—fun, energetic, and very on brand for Tatsuya. If you’re craving ramen and don’t want to trek into the city, this one hits! 📍 Ramen Tatsuya – Town & Country 600 W Sam Houston Pkwy N, unit 605, Houston, TX 77024 👉 Save this spot for your next ramen run! #HoustonRamen #RamenTatsuya #TownAndCountryHouston

✨New Japanese-Latin Restaurant✨ Houston has a brand-new Japanese–Latin restaurant to put on your must-try list. Last week I was invited to preview the menu at Casa Kenji, featuring a 9-course “somakase” (server-led omakase) that showcased everything from oysters and crudos to tempura, sushi, and wood-fired vegetables. Highlights: *Kanpachi crudo in tomato water, finished with cumin salt *Japanese Otoro lightly kissed with binchotan and finished with chimichurri *Wood-grilled prawns with chili garlic butter and salsa negra Casa Kenji now lives in the former Andiron space just off Allen Parkway—think stunning interiors, a sleek bar, and a patio that’ll make you want to linger. Now open to the public! 📍@casakenjihtx 3201 Allen Pkwy Suite E110, Houston, TX 77019 ✨ Tap save for your next dinner plan! #HoustonRestaurants #HoustonEats #newrestaurant

If you’re searching for authentic pho in Houston, this one deserves a spot on your list. Save this, follow for more Houston food finds, and go warm up with a bowl. 📍 Pho Dien 11830 Bellaire Blvd # C, Houston, TX 77072 #HoustonPho #AuthenticPho #HoustonFoodie #foodreview

✨ʜɪᴅᴅᴇɴ ɢᴇᴍ ᴅɪᴍ ꜱᴜᴍ ꜱᴘᴏᴛ✨ Looking for an affordable dim sum spot? Joy Dim Sum in Sugar Land is one of those hidden gem finds to add to your dim sum rotation. Tucked inside Jusgo Market in Sugar Land with only seven tables, it’s a mom & pop in the true sense of the word — wife runs the front, husband is the dim sum chef & everything is made to order. Prices run from $3.95–$6.95, so it’s one of the most affordable spots I’ve encountered! I ordered 10 dishes for just $64 (before tip!). Every plate comes straight from the kitchen, and they even offer frozen dim sum to take home. You even get a 5% discount when paying cash. If you love discovering hidden gem spots, add this one to your list! Follow me for more finds like this one! 📍 Joy Dim Sum 3412 Hwy 6, Sugar Land, TX 77478 ➡️ Save this for your next dim sum trip! #dimsumhouston #houstoneats #foodreview

Is Jantra Houston’s most exciting new tasting menu? 🌙 Hidden inside Michelin-recognized Street to Kitchen, Jantra is an intimate Houston tasting menu experience from Chef Benchawan “G” Jabthong Painter, where she turns memories, travels, and personal experiences into an ever-evolving menu. Some of my favorite courses included Brazilian pão de queijo with anchovy, smoked hamachi crudo with mangosteen and yuzu, and Hannari A5 Wagyu with chili garlic confit and a perfectly crafted bone marrow madeleine. At $175 per person, Jantra has just eight seats per night and one seating each evening. Reservations open on the first of every month, so plan ahead if you want one of those eight spots. For me? Absolutely worth the splurge. 📍 Jantra at Street to Kitchen | Houston, Texas 💰 $175 per person 🌙 8 seats | 1 seating per night 📅 Reservations open the 1st of each month 🍷 Optional wine pairing Save this for your next Houston special-occasion dinner, and follow for more Houston restaurants actually worth spending your money on. #HoustonRestaurants #HoustonFood #HoustonTastingMenu #HoustonFoodie #HoustonDining

Hidden gem pizza in Memorial City / Hedwig Village 🍕 If you’re searching for great pizza in Houston, put Murray’s Pizza & Wine on your list. This new Memorial City pizza spot comes from the same owners as Leaf & Grain next door and focuses on high-hydration, long-fermented pizza dough made with Texas Barton Springs Mill flour. We started with a classic Caesar, juicy meatballs, and burrata with focaccia (a must). For pizza, both were strong, but the standout was the Not-Hawaiian pizza with salami & pineapple infused hot honey. Dessert was pistachio gelato that tasted like Dubai chocolate pistachio in the best way. Bonus: one of the best patios in Memorial City, plus a cozy interior and full bar with wine and cocktails. A solid go-to for Houston pizza, date night, or an easy neighborhood dinner. 📍 Murray’s Pizza & Wine 9655 Katy Fwy, Suite 3110 Houston, TX #HoustonPizza #MemorialCityEats #HoustonFood
