Views of the Eiffel Tower like this will change you. ☺️ Visiting Paris as a black girl (always with other black women) always gives me life experiences and memories I can cherish for a lifetime. While I found a stylist for wigs and braids, I still needed an all around stylist who can take care of my hair beyond the occasional silk press. I’m so glad I found Aricka! I’ve been wanting to try a quick weave and a weave ponytail but I sometimes get too nervous when trying out new stylists. I don’t let everybody touch my hair either. When I say I’m sooo excited about this because not only can I trust her to take care of my hair, but she’s quick and I don’t have to be in the hair salon all day?! A huge win! While I found a stylist for wigs and braids, I still needed an all around stylist who can take care of my hair beyond the occasional silk press. I’m so glad I found Aricka! Like most restaurants, they fry all their food in the same fryer so cross contamination can easily happen. My friend has a sensitivity to the smell and had to leave early because the smell from the kitchen was causing her allergy to flare up. I didn’t notice the smell at all, so I want to be clear that the place didn’t smell bad. It actually smelled delicious. I’m a big foodie, so I’m glad this was my first stop back home. I really want to get back for their wings so I can try different flavors and their seafood. I was cozy in my blanket when my rest was interrupted by the sound of tires struggling to get up this snowy ramp. So what did I do? Yelled my 2 cents from upstairs and watched neighbors and police rally together to help this young woman get her car into the parking garage. I went back for seconds. 🍌 Banana Foster French Toast 10/10 - this was the star of the show. I’m not super big on sweets for breakfast so I have to be in the mood, but this right here was delicious. 🥬 Fried Chicken & Greens 10/10 - this was soooo good. The greens were spicy and flavorful. The fried chicken was cooked just right and had the right amount of seasoning. Everything was so properly seasoned. 🥩 Beef Tenderloin 9/10 - This was cooked well and the flavor was good, too! It was a great pairing with my eggs. And I do mean EVERYTHING I TASTED WAS SO GOOD. Everything was so fresh. 😍 Now let’s talk about service. The waiter was very personable, knowledgeable about the menu, and shared the best recommendations. He was attentive and anyone who stopped by our table to service us was amazing. You could tell this restaurant really cares about good service. And you know I love to support a Black owned business and restaurant! One thing my family loves is a good buffet (especially for brunch), so in Chicago I know all the best brunch spots around the city. Now that I live in Dallas, I’m so glad I found a brunch spot that is comparable to food and restaurants I love so dearly in Chicago.
