“Head of Partnerships” at every high growth fintech: > he is a very handsome 38 year old white guy that got his MBA at kellogg > went straight from Deloitte to startups (???) > he manages the partnership with Visa or some shit > he joins calls and says things like “let’s think long term” > doesn’t touch a single spreadsheet or deck > is actually a pretty nice guy > he gets laid off in 7 months
Hey wanna go to the Claude x Pop Up Bagels x Kalshi event this Saturday it’s only a 90 minute wait
@matt_feroz Satire 🙂😂
Joining a “rocketship” company usually goes like this: > you joined one month after they raise a big round > you think you have finally found your best job ever > they hire 500 clones of you doing the same job > you realize things are extremely inefficient here > you tell yourself you will make the things efficient and become “Head of” the things > you don’t become “Head of” the things > they hire “Head of” the things externally > that guy is the most insufferable jerk you’ve ever seen, fresh out of a divorce, addicted to posting on LinkedIn > you’ve been here only seven months so it’s too early to go look for a new job > none of your dreams come true at this company and you tell yourself “ let me finish two years here” > you throw in the towel at 16 months because you fully hate yourself
Transplants in NYC are so annoying. Most of them contribute next to nothing to this city, but want to claim being a New Yorker just for the clout. My grandparents moved to Brooklyn from San Francisco in the early 2020s. Grandpa wanted improved dating odds. Grandma wanted to live “Sex in the City” IRL. They spent every weekend rotating between housewarmings, birthdays, and EDM shows in Williamsburg. They moved right back to the Bay Area. They birthed and raised 3 generations of Los Altos residents. They both proudly claim to be from NYC!
@Escanor7_ Still posting!
making fun of the classic NYC intern bars is funny til u realize OP is pushing 40
Not sure I feel so bad for all the Airtable employees. Welcome to working for the average startup. It usually ends up sucking and failing. Hopefully you learned a thing or two and made some friends. By and large your equity is probably Monopoly money at best House always wins
Having a comp sci degree still gives you a serious edge in making stuff with AI
