I have a deep fascination with discovering how retarded the average person is. You’ll never understand until you work customer service. Exposed to hundreds of unique people weekly. Each one with a range of cognitive ability spanning from brilliant to genuinely stupid. I want to make some kind of series exposing this. You think everybody is like you. They’re not. You think drug addicts are just you with addiction. They’re not. You think poor people are just you with no money. They’re not. You think criminals are just you but angry. They’re not. They’re retards. Unfathomably, impressively stupid people. You just don’t get it

I once had an aisle seat on a flight. Younger dude comes up and asks if we can switch seats so he can sit next to his girlfriend. Says his seat is also an aisle. About 10 rows up. I agree. I walk up there. Somebody is in the seat. I said “hey you’re in the seat I just traded for with this guy.” He says no, that guy was in the middle. I walk back to guy and tell him he lied and to get up and go back to his middle seat. Some people think you’re just a complete retard

For 8 straight months I would have 3-4 hour bouts of not being able to breath. Every single breath on manual mode. Happened 7 days a week every day. Never knew when it was gonna hit. I was once doing a presentation on a live workshop my company sold and I couldn’t finish. I couldn’t breathe. Mid presentation my heart rate spikes high af and I have to just sit and catch my breath. @cbwritescopy had to come on and finish my presentation. This was a daily occurrence. Normally going about my life. Heart rate spikes. Feels like I’m suffocating. Need to lay down for 3-4 hours in the middle of the day. Completely impossible to do anything or go anywhere. Another time I was out to dinner with some people and we went on a walk in the town after. I got an episode right there during the walk and just had to sit on a bench for an hour. Catastrophically inconvenient and terrifying thing to just be happening to a seemingly healthy 28 year old. It was constant. All of the time. I began actively avoiding everything that involved leaving the house because I didn’t want to have an episode and embarrass everybody. Got a concierge doctor. Saw different specialists. Shit tons of different tests. Went to ER 3 different times because I thought I was gonna suffocate. “There’s nothing wrong with you” - Tracked full elimination diet - Different types of water - Mold test in the house (had a previous exposure) - Tried different supplements (magnesium, vitamin d, vitamin c, etc) Hundreds of hours of research and probably tens of thousands of dollars trying to figure it out. Finally had @NoahRyanCo help me out. He told me I was in a constant sympathetic nervous system state. I might not consciously feel stressed, but my nervous system definitely was. My CNS was completely fried. He told me to take Glycine and L-Theanine. I order it. DAY 1 it solves the issue. Actually immediate relief. For the first time in almost a year I physically felt my lungs opening up. It was just easy to breathe. It felt like I could fly. I’ve taken it every day since and it hasn’t come back once. I literally carry glycine and l-theanine pills with me everywhere now. Was such a simple solve it’s honestly incredible

Typical interaction with an Indian customer

One time a friend and I were outside a bar and had just bought a slice of pizza each. A homeless guy came up and asked to buy him a pizza. My friend ripped off a piece of his slice and handed it to him. Homeless guy swatted it onto the ground and screamed something like “don’t disrespect me I need a whole pie for my family” They are not like you

I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max and have been limiting the charge to 80%. Lasts about a day. I accidentally charged it to 100% and the battery lasted for almost 3 days

I woke up with a swollen jaw last month. Call dentist. They tell me come in immediately. It’s one block away. Doctor looks around. Partially erupted lower right wisdom tooth. Puss coming out when he pokes it. Infected Refers me to dental surgeon 10 minutes away. Gets me in immediately Wisdom tooth extraction scheduled for 3 days from then. Get antibiotics. I take antibiotics. I feel AMAZING. Like a veil has been lifted. Insanely high energy levels. Clear thoughts. For YEARS every time I’d floss my gums would bleed. I floss that night. No blood. Wisdom tooth gets taken out. Finish antibiotics. Gums never bleed while flossing since. Energy levels still high. Have felt amazing since. How long was there a low grade infection my body was actively fighting? Until one day it just became too much. Could have been months, or even years. I often think about how if this were 500 years ago, I would have simply died. No antibiotics. No wisdom tooth extractions to clear the source. It just would’ve eventually ended in sepsis/death

I did an export of 4,000 typeform applications and we did not have a SINGLE person who got this question wrong close. Not even one

They were also 2x more likely to no-show

On August 22nd @GadzhiIman acquired a stake in ListKit. listkit.io/ is the only platform in the world that lets you send cold emails without needing to be a GTM engineer. 1,000 cold emails per day for $597/mo. Domains, inboxes, leads, sending, and scripts included.

If you have a deep Indian accent and want to sign clients in the West, your #1 priority needs to be getting rid of your accent. Americans do not care that you’re Indian. They care that you sound Indian

My entire life I’ve struggled falling asleep. I’d lay awake with my eyes closed for 45-60 minutes most nights. Once a month I’d not fall asleep until 3 or 4am. These two are the ONLY things that have helped: 1. Glycine 2. Walking 15,000+ steps per day

I’ve processed $1.37MM on @whop so far. Here’s my full review of the experience:

First, let’s talk about general support.

I can undoubtedly say they have perhaps the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. 3 things comes to mind:

1.) They made a private Slack channel specifically for our business, with a dude named Ari. Ari likes to do this thing where you send a message for something and he responds back with a Loom showing how within 48 seconds.

2.) Our entire sales team is inside the Slack channel. When a subscription needs to be created, adjusted, moved, whatever - we simply ask in the channel and Ari does it.

3.) Ari is now inside our internal receivables channel. When payments fail, Whop sees who is failing and makes sure customers are able to change cards, split payments, etc - all done for us. We don’t touch it, they just do it for us.

Additional things I like about Whop:

1.) Financing partners (Klarna, SplitIt, etc.) directly integrated and dynamically show when available to the buyer. Also people can pay in Crypto. Pretty convenient.

2.) We have effectively lower fees than our Stripe account by a margin of ~0.5%. That’s multiple 4 figures per month saved for us. This goes directly back into ads, so we can make even more.

We dropped an upsell on a big challenge and the whop guys were up with us at 9pm making sure payments were going through, adjusting split payments, creating links, retrying payments for us, etc.

Cons of the platform:

Needs a substantially better UI. Still just seems incohesive and weird to poke around in. I think they’d do A LOT better if they dropped a bag on some extremely talented UI/UX guys. I would use Whop for payment processing - not hosting products, YET.

Overall experience: 9/10
