The prefect early season hike! 🙌🏼🥾

Prairie View Trail in Kananaskis is the one of the BEST spring hikes in Alberta if you’re looking to get back into the mountains without dealing with deep snow or super technical terrain.

The trail overlooks Barrier Lake and Mount Baldy the entire way up, and when conditions are good, the views at the top are unreal 🤩

One of the most underrated hikes in Kananaskis 🏔️

The trail winds through forest before breaking out onto the ridge, and on a clear day the 360-degree views are some of the best I’ve seen for a hike this short. Only 1.5 hours from Calgary, and somehow still one of the quieter hikes in Kananaskis 🤯

TeamLab Planets Tokyo is honestly out of this world 🤯

I’ve wanted to visit for years, but seeing it in person was even more incredible than I imagined. It’s a fully immersive art experience with sound, light, water, movement and the kind of place you don’t just see, you feel it.

It’s not like a museum, and it’s not really something you can explain properly. You just have to experience it.

And trust me it’s one of those experiences that actually lives up to the hype 🤩🙌🏼

The best sunset view in Tokyo 🤩

We spent a few hours at Shibuya Sky, and it’s been one of the best experiences of the trip so far! Seeing Tokyo from above shows how massive, beautiful and electric the city really is.

Don’t miss this spot if you’re ever visiting Tokyo! 🌇

The most epic airplane view in the world! 🏔️

I flew over the Canadian Rockies to get to Japan and I forgot how insane they look from above!

This mountain range is between Alberta & British Columbia and if you ever have the chance to fly over them a window seat is a MUST ✈️🤩

One of the most unique wildlife experiences I’ve ever had 🐒♨️

Watching snow monkeys soak in a natural hot spring in Japan was honestly incredible to see in person. This is Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, the only place in the world where wild monkeys bathe in natural onsens during winter.

There’s a short 20–30 minute walk into the park, and once you arrive, you’ll see the monkeys feeding, relaxing, and interacting with one another. The most surprising part was how they completely ignore the people around them, which made the whole experience feel really peaceful.

We went early in the morning to beat the crowds, and with snow all around, it made the experience feel even more magical.

It’s popular for a reason and absolutely worth the trip if you’re visiting Japan.

Some of the bluest water I’ve ever swam in 🤯

Costa Rica’s got no shortage of famous spots, but this one barely gets talked about, which honestly makes it feel like even more of a hidden gem.

Meet Poza Azul, the “Blue Pool.” It sits deep in the cloud forest of Bajos del Toro on the same property as the famous “Blue Falls,” and the water is so blue it almost looks fake.

The water gets its unique colour from volcanic minerals carried down from the Poás Volcano, which scatter the sunlight until the whole pool turns this unreal blue.

If you only do one swimming hole in Costa Rica, make it this one 🤩

One of the most underrated hikes in Kananaskis ⛰️🥾

There are so many incredible hikes in Kananaskis Country that seem to get all the attention, but I rarely hear people talk about Jumpingpound Summit Trail. After finally making it to the top, I honestly think it deserves a lot more love.

A couple weekends ago we tried hiking this trail but ended up turning around because there was still too much snow higher up on the mountain.

We came back last weekend hoping conditions would be better, and thankfully they were. The lower half of the trail was mostly dry, but there was still plenty of snow near the summit, making it feel like a mix of spring hiking and winter hiking all in one day 😂

The ridge and summit views were definitely the highlight for me. For a relatively short hike with a moderate climb, the payoff at the top was way better than I expected 🤩

If you’re looking for one of the best spring and summer hikes near Calgary with incredible views, fewer crowds, and generally less snow than other hikes in the Rockies this time of year, I’d definitely add this one to your list.

One of the most beautiful hikes we’ve done in British Columbia 🤩🥾

@itsmadirawding and I hiked the Joffre Lakes Trail and it completely lived up to the hype. Between the insanely blue glacier-fed lakes, waterfalls along the trail, and unreal mountain scenery the entire hike, it’s easy to see why this is one of the most popular hikes in BC.

We made it to all 3 lakes, but Upper Joffre Lake was definitely the highlight for us. Swimming in the bright blue freezing cold glacier water after hiking in the summer heat was such a cool experience 🏔️

The trail itself is pretty manageable overall, but there are definitely some steeper sections as you climb toward the upper lakes. If you’re planning to do this hike, I’d highly recommend starting early because this trail gets BUSY, especially during summer weekends. Even with the crowds though, I still think it’s absolutely worth doing at least once.

A little recap from my first full snowboard season at Lake Louise 🏂🤙🏼

Last year after moving to Calgary I only caught the tail end of the season, so finally getting a full winter out here was a dream.

One of the biggest reasons I moved was to spend more time in the mountains, and this winter honestly lived up to everything I hoped it would be. Definitely feels good seeing the progression from riding every weekend instead of a once-a-year trip! 🙌🏼

First hike of the season 🙌🏼🥾

Honestly such a bittersweet feeling. Sad snowboard season is over, but super stoked for summer adventures in the mountains again.

Started the season with Prairie View Trail in Kananaskis and it ended up being the perfect spring hike. Moderate climb, amazing views of Barrier Lake and Mount Baldy, and barely any snow on the trail which felt like a huge win for this time of year 🤩

Definitely one of the best spring hikes near Calgary if you’re looking to get back into hiking season without dealing with deep snow or super technical terrain.

One of the BEST places to visit in Japan 🇯🇵 🐒

Located in Nagano, Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park is home to wild Japanese snow monkeys and it’s the only place in the world where they regularly soak in natural hot springs during winter. Once you arrive, there’s a short 20–30 minute walk through the forest to reach the onsen where the monkeys gather.

What surprised me most was how natural everything felt. There’s just one main hot spring that they all share, and watching them take turns, squabble over spots, and eventually settle in was both funny and fascinating. Even with plenty of people around, the monkeys were totally unbothered and just going about their day.

You’ll see everything from fully grown adults that others instinctively move aside for, to tiny babies sticking close to their mothers. I’ve seen monkeys while traveling before, but never ones with bright red faces, thick white fur, and such distinct personalities.

It’s definitely a popular stop, but if you’re in Nagano (or even coming from places like Hakuba or Tokyo), it’s 100% worth the extra effort. Easily one of the most memorable experiences of our time in Japan.

It’s been a minute 👀

Over a year ago, I stopped posting.
Not because I stopped creating, but because I needed a real reset. Posting frequently for years started to take up more space in my life than actually living it, so I stepped back and focused on my health, my routines, and my work.

A lot has happened, but the most significant change has been moving to the west coast of Canada with @itsmadirawding. Having a real home base in Calgary has been such a good change. After years of traveling mostly full-time, slowing down and building a life here has been grounding in the best way.

Alberta gives me that thrill of adventure I’ve always chased, but with a feeling of being rooted, not rushed. I’ve spent the last year exploring the city and the mountains, hiking, snowboarding, meeting new people, and moving at a different pace 🏔️

I’ve been creating a lot over the past year and growing my business, I just haven’t been sharing it. I used to overthink before posting, sit on work, let too much live on hard drives, and measure everything by likes and engagement. I’m done doing that.

I’m back now and posting again simply because I love capturing moments and telling stories. Less pressure, more presence. Just sharing the beauty of the world.

If you’re in Calgary or Alberta and you create, let’s connect. And if you’ve been following me for a while, thanks for sticking around 🙌🏼
