Leavenworth Travel Guide 🎄🪵❄️ This is a Bavarian German inspired mountain town just a few hours from Seattle and Vancouver. 🚌  HOW TO GET THERE/ GETTING AROUND - Fly into Seattle (nearest airport) then you can either drive, bus or train to Leavenworth, my favourite way is the train, it goes through beautiful snowy forests and has a restaurant on board. - From Vancouver get a bus to Seattle and then the Amtrak train to Leavenworth Station this journey will take you around 4.5 hours - From the train station there is a reliable taxi service called the Leavenworth Shuttle taking all passengers to the town for $11 each - make sure to pre-book this! - The Leavenworth Link Transit shuttle is FREE and you can book it by calling or booking online, this must be done in advance. 🦌 THINGS TO DO - visit the reindeer farm - ride the alpine rollercoaster - visit Leavenworth ski hill to tube or ski - explore Lake Wenatchee state park - stroll the town and it’s shops - Taste Bavarian food - visit the nutcracker museum 🌨️ THINGS TO KNOW - As this small mountain town don’t rely on any form of public transport to get around the town - Stay in the main town area and you can walk to all the local spots - This is a small town you don’t need more than 4 days here - If you are confident driving in the snow rely on the Amtrak and local free shuttle Is this mountain town on your bucketlist? 🌲🦌 #bavaria #leavenworthwashington #leavenworth #skitown #mountains #mountaintown

Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu 🦙🇵🇪 🏔️ The Salkantay Trek is a 5-day bucketlist hike to Machu Picchu ⛺ Details 5 days / 4 nights start in Cusco end in Machu Picchu 74 km (46 miles) 🌿 What to Expect Day 1: Hike to the beautiful Humantay Lake (second hardest day) stay on a mountainside in star-gazing globes Day 2: Trek the Salkantay Pass - this is the toughest day, you can also opt to do this day on horseback which is an incredible way to see the mountains Day 3: Trek the Peruvian Rainforest, see the cloud forest, waterfalls and wildlife Day 4: Fun day of activities, including ziplining, hot springs and coffee farm and end in the town that’s home to Machu Picchu Aguas Calientes Day 5: Take the bus or hike Machu Picchu and then return to Cusco on a scenic train (a must do experience!) 🎒 Need to Know - You should stay in Cusco for 3 days before beginning to acclimatize to the altitude - This is a guided hike, they supply all the equipment (tents, hiking poles, travel sacks) you need, guide, food and you just show up! - Altitude medication is so import to prevent dizziness and sickness - This hike is a MUST do but it is very challenging, I recommend to prepare by hiking regularly before this adventure - The trek package usually includes your Machu Picchu tickets but you must double check this - Book this trek as far in advance Machu Picchu tickets sell out fast - Upgrade your train ticket on the ride home from Machu Picchu to get a beautiful 360 view of the rainforest - We paid just £300 for this 5 day experience everything included! NEED TO KNOW FOR GREECE TRAVELLERS 🇬🇷🐚🧿🐚 - TRANSPORT - 🤍 most affordable option is to fly into Athens and then get a ferry to your chosen island 🐚 ferries can get delayed don’t ferry + fly out on the same day just in case you miss your flight! However you can fly into Greece and then get a ferry on the same day, there’s plenty timing options! 🛥️ buy your ferry tickets on ferryhopper.com - book in advance tickets can sell out in peak season, there are multiple companies that sail such a Seajets and Blue Star Ferries 🚘 rent a car when you get to your chosen island to make the most of seeing it all! - CHOOSING YOUR ISLAND - 🧿 you don’t need to see every island theres sooo many, I’d advise two and a few days in Athens to start a 10-14 day trip Here is a general island breakdown: 🌺Paros - less crowded quaint but atmospheric fishing villages with beautiful cobbled streets and flowers everywhere 🎉Mykonos - perfect for those looking to party and splash the cash 🐚Santorini - the most famous Greek landscape with blue and white houses (most expensive island) 🏛️Naxos - incredible ruins and history on this smaller island 🐠Crete - great for all travellers, a big island with lots to do and beautiful beaches 💙Zakynthos - more affordable but just as beautiful great for adventurous travellers 🛥️Milos - similar to Paros, a smaller quieter island with world class beaches, white streets and serene blue water 🤍 the islands are busy in peak season for quieter, cheaper islands try Tilos, Skyros or Crete, Zakynthos - THINGS TO KNOW - 🌊 due to the extreme heat Greek health and safety law states bottled water can only be legally sold for maximum of 0.50€ so don’t let vendors charge you more! 💸 Greece is generally very safe but there is petty crime like pickpocketing so west a crossbody bag and keep your valuables out of pockets 📲 grab an e-sim for Greece this will work both on the mainland and all islands Should I make a 10 day itinerary? NEED TO KNOW FOR GREECE TRAVELLERS 🇬🇷🐚🧿🐚 - TRANSPORT - 🤍 most affordable option is to fly into Athens and then get a ferry to your chosen island 🐚 ferries can get delayed don’t ferry + fly out on the same day just in case you miss your flight! However you can fly into Greece and then get a ferry on the same day, there’s plenty timing options! 🛥️ buy your ferry tickets on ferryhopper.com - book in advance tickets can sell out in peak season, there are multiple companies that sail such a Seajets and Blue Star Ferries 🚘 rent a car when you get to your chosen island to make the most of seeing it all! - CHOOSING YOUR ISLAND - 🧿 you don’t need to see every island theres sooo many, I’d advise two and a few days in Athens to start a 10-14 day trip Here is a general island breakdown: 🌺Paros - less crowded quaint but atmospheric fishing villages with beautiful cobbled streets and flowers everywhere 🎉Mykonos - perfect for those looking to party and splash the cash 🐚Santorini - the most famous Greek landscape with blue and white houses (most expensive island) 🏛️Naxos - incredible ruins and history on this smaller island 🐠Crete - great for all travellers, a big island with lots to do and beautiful beaches 💙Zakynthos - more affordable but just as beautiful great for adventurous travellers 🛥️Milos - similar to Paros, a smaller quieter island with world class beaches, white streets and serene blue water 🤍 the islands are busy in peak season for quieter, cheaper islands try Tilos, Skyros or Crete, Zakynthos - THINGS TO KNOW - 🌊 due to the extreme heat Greek health and safety law states bottled water can only be legally sold for maximum of 0.50€ so don’t let vendors charge you more! 💸 Greece is generally very safe but there is petty crime like pickpocketing so west a crossbody bag and keep your valuables out of pockets 📲 grab an e-sim for Greece this will work both on the mainland and all islands Should I make a 10 day itinerary? You HAVE to add this hike to your travel bucket list 👇🏼 Yes that is me having a cry at this pinch me moment that had been an image on my desktop for years… This is the incredible view of active Volcano Fuego 🌋 🥾 You can get here by doing a two day hike from Antigua with tour companies (I recommend Campify they go glamping on the volcano everything is included!) ⛺️ Spend one time glamping on the volcano and you can add an extra challenge by waking up early morning before you descend and hike the active Volcano Fuego, even taste some pizza cooked on the volcano!! 🍕 GUATEMALA: THINGS TO KNOW 🇬🇹🌋 🗣️ Basic understanding of Spanish is pretty essential 🚍 Get around from city to city with Guatego shuttles ⛰️ Must see places: Lake Atitlan, Antigua, Flores/Tikal National Park, volcano fuego 📱Apps to download: Uber, e-sim, Google translate, Google Maps (apple maps doesn’t work) 📑 Before landing you need to fill out a declaration of entry and again when exiting 🚘 Uber is available and the most affordable option for private transport in Antigua and Guatemala City ✈️ Fly internally to save time between places (Guatemala City to Flores for Tikal) 💸 Currency is Guatemalan Quetzals but they accept USD If you’re transitting through the USA you will need an ESTA apply and ensure it’s confirmed BEFFORE you travel.
