Captain America. Eight seasons, a Hall of Fame case that never needed padding. Luke Kuechly’s Panthers run: Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2012 — 205 tackles, still a franchise record. Youngest DPOY ever at 22 in 2013. 24 tackles vs. the Saints that year, tying the NFL single-game record. 5× All-Pro, 7× Pro Bowl, 3× Butkus winner, 18 INTs — most by any linebacker from 2012-19. Retired at 28 after concussions. Career PFF grade of 94.0, second all-time among linebackers. This year: enshrined in Canton. Short career, forever impact. ⚡

Best receiver on the planet. Justin Jefferson has been rewriting the NFL record book since Day 1. Fastest player ever to 4,000, 5,000, 6,000, and 7,000 receiving yards. Career average: 96.5 yards per game — the highest in NFL history. 2022 Offensive Player of the Year (128 rec, 1,809 yards, 8 TDs, receiving triple crown). 4× Pro Bowler. 3× All-Pro. The Griddy. The one-handed grab vs. Buffalo in 2022 — one of the greatest catches ever, on 4th-and-18. Only receiver in NFL history to hit 100 receptions in his first two seasons. Only 27 years old. Cooked LSU, cooked the league. Best WR of his generation, hands down. 💜

Before the $120 million contract. Before Miami. Before any of it — there was a 5’10” kid from Douglas, Georgia who grew up with no electricity, raised by his grandparents, and told himself one thing over and over again:
Football is going to take care of me.
The Kansas City Chiefs took him in the fifth round of the 2016 draft — the 165th overall pick. Nobody outside of Kansas City was paying attention. By the end of his rookie year, everyone was.
He became the first player in the Super Bowl era to record a kick return, a punt return, a rushing touchdown, AND a receiving touchdown in the same season. As a rookie. On a fifth-round contract. Making defenses look like they were playing in slow motion.
Then he just kept going.
479 catches. 6,630 yards. 67 touchdowns in just 91 games with the Chiefs. Six straight Pro Bowls in Kansas City. A Super Bowl ring in February 2020. In Super Bowl LIV, he led the Chiefs in both receptions and receiving yards as Kansas City ended a 50-year championship drought.
What made Tyreek Hill different wasn’t just the speed — though nobody in football history has weaponized it the way he did. It was the creativity. The jet sweeps. The end-arounds. The deep balls where the safety had a five-yard cushion and still couldn’t close the gap. He didn’t just beat corners — he demoralized them.
In 15 career playoff games with the Chiefs, he averaged 80.8 receiving yards per game. He showed up when it mattered most, every single time.
When the Chiefs traded him to Miami in 2022, it felt like the end of something. And it was — because what Tyreek Hill built in Kansas City will never be replicated. The Cheetah era was one of the most electric runs a wide receiver has ever had alongside one quarterback in NFL history.
Some players change a game. Tyreek Hill changed what a position could look like. ⚡
