17 months ago, I left England and started travelling the world….now it’s my full time job! It has been a crazy journey...some days full of gratitude for the crazy life I get to live at 19 years old, other days full of self doubt. I do miss England at times, especially when I see my mates having a sick time at uni. I guess it’s home, and that never really leaves you. Most people such as myself shit on London for it being rainy, dangerous and expensive. But that wasn’t the main reason for me wanting to leave was the lack of self identity. I couldn’t see myself figuring out who I wanted to be and want I wanted to do in a place that has such a negative mindset. There is such a “stay in your line” or “that’ll never work out” mindset that is inherently ingrained in the culture in the UK. With a strong longing to explore the world, I saved up in a restaurant for 3 years hustling as a waiter in order to LEAVE. I was lucky enough that my coping mechanism of dealing with my dad’s death at the time was to throw myself into work in order to numb those difficult feelings of grief. Now I can’t say leaving with fix all of your problems as dealing with that deeper grief that I know I need to work on is still there. However, I managed to collect some of the coolest dad lore side questing around the world seeing Carnaval in Rio, the Ha Giang loop in Vietnam and trekking through Patagonia. My business just hit $10k this month so I’d like to say that leaving was the best decision I could’ve made to get me closer to uncovering who Tristan wants to be. #digitalnomad #seetheworld #travelstories #solotravel #adventure

It only cost £30 ($40) to access, with unlimited drinks, snacks and fruit are included as well as breakfast served to you in the morning🍿🍳! This is so true if you travel with the intention of connecting with locals in order to learn new cultures and perspectives of how life within these countries actually feels. Travelling in this way will give you so many reflective moments where you realise how much privilege you have to be able to travel, it makes you hyper aware that you really don’t need that much to live a fulfilling life. The goat of all travel, Anthony Bourdain, said it best: “travel is not a reward for working but education for living” #backpacking #seetheworld #travel
