I can’t believe we’ve been married 5 years today! 🥹❤️ You changed my whole life @steeeveforrest and I love you more than ever. I can’t believe that at the beginning of the summer we met in 2019, at 33 years old, I had genuinely accepted the fact that it would be just me. I’d tried marriage/family, it didn’t work, and I was happier without it. All I prayed for was that my heart would stay open to anything good that came. I just assumed it would be solo! How little did I know…❤️ #bestfriends

He’s here!! 🥹❤️ This post is delayed as we’ve been in the newborn bubble over here, but I wanted to share a very condensed birth story. If you’ve been following, you know Milo was due Dec. 15 and seemingly had no interest *at all* in joining us. 😅 I was dealing with a LOT of impatience and a LOTTT of discomfort beyond 40 weeks, plus a full week of intense Braxton-Hicks that kept convincing me “today is the day!” until it wasn’t.

WARNING: more graphic below!

Around 40+4 I started having bloody show, which gave me hope, and then early Monday morning, at 41 weeks exactly (Dec. 22), contractions woke me from a dead sleep around 4:30AM, so I called the midwife who made a half-hour trip just to tell me to go back to sleep 😬 BUT she said she expected things would progress and she’d be back that same day. She was right. I officially went into active labor around 2PM. My water didn’t break on its own, so the midwife broke it for me at 5:30PM, and then things got intense quickly. I started pushing at 6PM and delivered Milo at 6:44, hanging off the side of the bed in a squat with Steve holding me up…the exact same way I delivered Noah 🤣 (and again, the nearby birthing pool went mostly unused! I always expect I’ll want the pool and I never do it’s so weird!)

Milo’s weigh-in: 11lbs 1oz. Over ELEVEN lbs. 😮‍💨 We were all in shock, and now all of the extreme discomfort during week 41 makes perfect sense. 😅 He was 22 inches long and perfectly healthy. ❤️ I did need stitches again, but not as bad as I did with Noah, thank GOD!! Overall my active labor was only 4 hours with 45 mins of pushing…with Noah it was 5 hours with 2 hours of pushing. SO happy the rumor about 2nd births being faster was true for me! 🙏🏻

So here we are in the bubble again. I’m hanging onto every moment even tighter the second time around. And it was a bonus that by Christmas Day I was mobile enough to help Steve make it a VERY sweet morning for Noah, who, by the way, is the most adorable little helper and LOVES being a big brother to Milo!! 🥹 Thank you all for your beautiful messages!! I’ve read every single one. Love you guys so much and I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday so far!! ❤️🎄🙏🏻🥰

It’s been forever hahaha! And I’m about to POP!!! Noah took this picture of me and @steeeveforrest tonight while we were decorating (I was about to glitter puff paint our names on some stockings we got from Hobby Lobby)—I still canNOT believe he’s FIVE. 😫😭🥹 I’ll be 38 weeks on MONDAY. The midwife said I am officially in the *cleared timeframe* for home birth! And I’ve been feeling pretty good, considering. Interrupted sleep and heartburn are my two major issues now. I have to take it easy during the day to make up for lack of sleep, and I’ve been taking Pepcid AC + these Wonderbelly Antacids (healthier alternative to TUMS)—these 2 do the trick but still…the heartburn has been MUCH worse this pregnancy and I cannot wait for that to stop. 😅 Anyhoo, all my other checkups and scans have been good. Feeling lots of movement and kicks, and midwife guessed he was around 6.5 lbs at my 37 week checkup which means he might end up under 9 lbs which would be amazing. 🤣 Anything smaller than Noah’s 9 lbs 14 oz would be pretty neat. 😅 In other news…the Nashville house is almost ready to list, I’ll definitely share that with you guys, AND we dropped the price on the RV!! We’re now asking $115,000, but open to offers so message me if you’re interested! I have the listing link for anyone who wants to take a look. 🚐❤️

Emotionally, I am sort of stunned by the fact I’m about to have # 2. I am trying to soak up every last second of it just being the 3 of us. But I am also so excited to meet Milo (have I shared his name yet??), and at the same time it’s still not real to me. I’ll break down sobbing about this chapter of 3 ending…then break down sobbing cause I can’t wait for the chapter of 4. It’s a confusing and hormonal and uncomfortable and magnificent time for me. 🤰🤭

I’m gonna try to update more as things get closer. Love you guys and I hope you’re doing so well! ❤️

Welp! 😅 Hangin in there!! It is truly an emotional moment for me. I had a breakdown last night feeling so discouraged and impatient, woke up this morning overwhelmed, then did a hard reset, zoomed WAY out, and focused on the fact that in the grand scheme of things, this is *such* a brief and precious moment in time. Truly. This is likely the last time I’ll ever be pregnant. The last days of it being a party of 3 in this house. After adjusting my focus, I definitely felt some much needed comfort, a renewed bit of patience, but still extremely physically uncomfortable lol.

On the physical side of things, a few days ago I had a FULL DAY of more intense than usual Braxton-Hicks contractions which stopped late at night and never picked up again. I went to see the midwife the following day, and everything is looking perfect. Milo is moving plenty, has grown significantly since my last measurement (she’s estimating 9.5lbs 😳), and all that contracting was likely meant to move him into the ideal position for birth…which seems to have been a success cause I’m feeling all the kicks and wiggles in a different spot now.

Today we got out of the house, did some last minute Christmas shopping, and I had a few contractions while we were out so we’ll see what happens!

While we wait, I am going to continue to focus on this unique moment in time, and try to soak up every bit of it that I can. And when I feel impatient or discouraged, I won’t beat myself up. There’s room for all of it, and at the end of the day, I am just extremely grateful that I get to experience this miracle of new life for a second time. 🥹💛🌾

Thank God I slept last night, this cold has been kicking my butt! I had enough energy on this MY DUE DATE to make these potent immunity shots and I’m hoping they help me get over this bug entirely before the baby comes!! The main benefits of this recipe are: it is anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, immunity boosting, enhances circulation, loosens/drains congestion, throat soothing and supports gut health. I can tolerate the flavors a bit better than Steve (as you can see at the end 🤣), but I’ll give a warning, it is SPICY even without cayenne due to the amount of ginger!!! Let me know if you try this, or if you already make this potion yourself! I also love how much money is saved DIYing it. I’ve seen little 1.5 oz bottles of this go for $4+ at the grocery store. 🤭

How I make it:

Juice about 6-8oz washed organic ginger root + 6-8oz washed organic turmeric root + about 3lbs roughly peeled lemons

Add half the juice to a blender + about 2tbsp organic raw honey (or more if you like it sweeter) + as much cayenne as you can tolerate (I do 1-2tsp)

Blend + add back to the pitcher, and stir. Top up with water if you want to dilute it a little bit!

Store in the fridge, but do a shot immediately as a reward for all your hard work. Cheers!! 🥰❤️🤰
