Save this for your South Africa trip 🛶🇿🇦💦

📍Welcome to…The Sundays River

On the shores of the river there’s a teeny tiny village called Colchester, and that is where you can start your adventure along the stunning Sundays River and reach the Alexandria Dune Field.

This place is such a hidden gem, when we visited there was absolutely no one else around. It felt like our own slice of natural paradise. A totally unexpected adventure, wedged between the river, the ocean and the dunes.

🛶 You can rent a canoe from @sundaysriveradventures in Colchester, and paddle your way towards the River Mouth. That’s where you’ll find the dunes, moor up and head out on foot across the sand.

South Africa is full of incredible nature spots, but this place really stood out to us, as it was SO unique. It ended up being one of our top spots over the whole month we spent there.

Send this to who you want to explore South Africa with! Follow @thenomadsyouknow for more adventure travel guides and inspiration from around the world 🩵

Save this for your Tunisia trip! 🇹🇳

📌 Make sure you send this to who you want to explore this route with and follow @thenomadsyouknow for more epic road trips.

This is the ultimate Tunisia road trip, taking you way beyond the tourist resorts and to the heart of what this country has to offer.

This route starts in the dramatic desert landscapes of the south, stopping at iconic Star Wars filming sites and then heads north, where you’ll explore rolling green hills, Roman ruins and ancient cities.

We recommend that you spend at least 2 weeks on this route for it to not feel rushed. The best time of year is definitely shoulder seasons either September - November or March - May for ideal temperature.

Djerba Island
Ksar Ouled Soltane
Chenini
Matmata
Douz
Chott el Jerid
Sidi Bouhlel
Mos Espa
Chebika Oasis
Tamaghza
Mides Canyon
Kairouan
Dougga
Bizerte
Tunis
El Jem

🛫 From the UK there are low-cost direct flights to Djerba, where we started and ended this trip. Alternatively, you could fly in/out of Tunis or Enfidha.

🚘 Driving conditions in Tunisia can be hectic, especially in cities. We found the South to be easier for driving than the North.

Save this for your England trip! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

📌 Make sure you send this to who you’d explore here with and follow @thenomadsyouknow for more underrated destinations.

This is Holkham Beach in Norfolk, a truly stunning beach that seems to go on for miles and feels as though it belongs elsewhere in the world.

But it’s without a doubt our favourite in the country, because it feels so wild out there. As you approach the beach you’ll also walk through a beautiful forest, that feels like fairies could live there 🧚

💰Parking Fee: £7 for 4 hours & £14 all day.

Norfolk as a whole is a really underrated part of England and should absolutely be on your bucket list!

The most unique wine region in the world 😲🍷

📌 Make sure you SAVE this for your own trip and send it to who you’d sip wine here with.

No this isn’t the moon!? Lanzarote’s La Geria wine region is without a doubt one of the coolest places on earth to enjoy a glass of wine.

It’s here that the vines grow in the most unique way, in individual craters that are dug meters deep into the volcanic ash. Each vine is protected by a semi-circle stone wall to help shield it from the island’s strong trade winds. The result is that the landscape looks incredibly lunar like, amongst the volcanic backdrop.

You can try excellent wine in La Geria, especially those from the indigenous grape called Malvasía Volcánica.

We recommend that you spend an afternoon here and stop at a couple vineyards for tastings. For the best views, definitely don’t miss Bodega La Geria 🍷

📌 Make sure you send this to who you’d explore with and follow @thenomadsyouknow for more underrated destinations.

St Michael’s Mount is a tidal island located in Cornwall. That can only be reached by walking across the causeway at low tide., high tide will require a boat ride across.

Home to a medieval church and castle, harbour and a small community, it’s like visiting a real life fairytale.

💰 To walk across and admire the island it’s totally free, but to visit the castle and gardens the entry fee is £32pp.

🚘 The easiest way to reach St Michael’s Mount is with your own car on a road trip in the Southwest. Alternatively, from London you could take a train to Penzance and then catch a bus or taxi from there.

People that tell you the UK is boring and there’s nothing to see beyond London are either straight up lying or simply haven’t explored enough to appreciate the sheer amount of beauty we have here…

🏰 St Michael’s Mount – a Cornish tidal island crowned with a medieval castle and subtropical gardens. Walk across the causeway at low tide and feel like you’ve stepped into a storybook.

⚔️ Holy Island – perched off the coast of Northumberland, this tidal island is steeped in history. Home to Lindisfarne Castle and the site of the first Viking raids, it’s magical, dramatic, and often overlooked.

🌾 Holkham Beach – endless golden sands in Norfolk, backed by dunes and pine forest. It’s windswept and wonderfully peaceful. One of England’s most beautiful beaches, without the chaos of the south coast.

⛰️ Winnats Pass – a narrow limestone gorge in the Peak District, with cliffs rising steeply on either side. The drive, or a walk along the ridge delivers moody skies, dramatic views, and serious “wow” factor.

🌿 Pembrokeshire Coast – rugged cliffs, hidden coves, wildflower covered headlands and some of the bluest water in the UK. It’s breathtaking, from peaceful beaches to dramatic clifftops and crashing Atlantic waves.

💧 Steall Falls – hidden deep within a dramatic Highland glen, this towering waterfall feels straight out of a fantasy film. Surrounded by steep mountains, it’s one of the most magical landscapes in Scotland.

🏰 Bamburgh Beach – wide golden sands stretching beneath the towering walls of Bamburgh Castle. It’s truly majestic, atmospheric, and often overlooked.

🌊 Durdle Door – one of the UK’s most iconic coastal landmarks, where a natural limestone arch rises from the sea. With turquoise water, and incredible coastal walks, it feels more Mediterranean than southern England.

Which would you go to first?

Whilst southern Europe is great, during summer it’s honestly overrated (in our opinion). We absolutely love spending summer in England, and our favourite corner of the country to visit is the Southwest.

Cornwall

This is Morocco’s ultimate road trip route, covering the highlights from Marrakech to the Sahara and back down the Atlantic Coast. We recommend that you spend at least 2-3 weeks on this route, for it to not feel rushed.

Marrakech
Atlas Mountains
Ait BenHaddou
Dades Gorge
Todgha Gorge
Merzouga (Sahara)
Fes
Chefchaouen
Akchour
Rabat
Essaouira
Taghazout

You could easily fly into Marrakech, pick up your car there, and then fly out of Agadir. Or you could drive back to Marrakech and fly out of there.

Touch down in the land of the Delta Blues 🎸

ad | @visittheusa

If you’re looking for unique and unforgettable, then a Mississippi road trip needs to be on the cards. We spent 7 days driving the length of the state and each spot took us on a different journey into Mississippi’s soul and the Southern hospitality? It’s real... warm smiles, good stories, and people who make you feel right at home.

From the wide open Delta skies of Cleveland and the Deep South soul of Jackson, to the nostalgic streets of Natchez, and the lingering sunsets on the coast in Gulfport. Mississippi surprised us in all the best ways.

📌 Make sure you SAVE this for your own adventure and send it to your road trip partner.

On our recent trip to Tunisia we were so surprised to discover that it’s actually home to some of the best persevered Roman architecture in the world. We can’t believe how far the Roman Empire truly stretched…

If you’re travelling to Tunisia then there’s 3 places you absolutely can’t miss for the best Roman experience👇🏼

🏛️ Dougga - a UNESCO World Heritage Site perched on a hillside with sweeping views. Dougga feels like stepping straight into a Roman time capsule. What makes it so special is just how complete it is. You can wander through temples, bathhouses, and a perfectly preserved theatre.

💰 Entry fee - 8 TND (£2.03)

🏛️ Carthage - Once one of the most powerful cities of the ancient world, Carthage is layered with history, from its Phoenician roots to its dramatic destruction and eventual Roman rebirth. Today you can explore sprawling ruins by the Mediterranean Sea.

💰 Entry fee - 12 TND (£3.05)

🏛️ El Jem Amphitheatre - Often compared to the Colosseum, El Jem is one of the largest amphitheatres ever built, and somehow even less crowded. You can climb through its underground tunnels, walk the arena floor, and take in just how massive it is.

💰 Entry fee - 12 TND (£3.05)

📌 Make sure you SAVE this for your own trip and send it to the Star Wars loving person in your life, who needs to do this road trip too.

Harry has been a life long fan of Star Wars and we’ve always talked about doing this road trip in Tunisia, to visit the iconic movie locations. I’m a total Star Wars amateur, but I have to say this trip has been truly unforgettable.

Of course Harry even bought a full Jedi outfit off Vinted for £20, so he could really fulfill his boyhood dreams 😄

If you’re a Star Wars fan, these are the locations in Tunisia you simply can’t miss👇🏼

💫 Ksar Ouled Soltane
💫 Hotel Sidi Idriss aka Luke Skywalker’s Home
💫 Sidi Bouhlel Canyon
💫 Mos Espa - the real life abandoned Star Wars set
💫 Mides Canyon

P.S you’re never too old to live out your childhood dreams hehe…

The lies we’ve been told…👇🏼🤯

📌 Make sure you SAVE this and send it to someone who needs to hear this.

“Tunisia is dangerous and unstable”
“There’s nothing to see beyond the resorts”
“It’s conservative and very restrictive”

We’ve just spent 2 weeks road tripping around Tunisia from South to North and have found quite the opposite to these statements.

❌ “Tunisia is dangerous and unstable” - This likely stems from regional tensions and historical t****rist attacks. But Tunisia is actually considered one of the safer North African countries for tourists and we didn’t once feel unsafe or at risk during our time there.

❌ “There’s nothing to see beyond the resorts” - It feels like a crime to visit Tunisia and only stick to a resort. This country surprised us in so many ways, from the dramatic desert landscapes of the south to the rolling green hills and ancient Roman history of the north.

❌ “It’s conservative and very restrictive” - We were so pleasantly surprised to learn that Tunisia is actually one of the most progressive countries in the region. With strong legal rights and access to education and work, particularly for women. In cities such as Tunis, it actually feels incredibly liberal.

Tunisia gave us one hell of an adventure and surprised us in so many ways. It was beautiful, challenging and chaotic, but all the best adventures are 👏🏼
