As a product developer, the very first thing I clock when I’m scanning a shelf is packaging, and this applicator immediately stood out to me because I could tell it was custom and not something stock I’ve seen done before in the USA market. They did something genuinely novel here by expanding on one of their most iconic franchises in a way that feels very on-brand and very intentional, and I think longtime Benefit fans are going to appreciate this. @rarebeauty’s new Eau de Parfum might smell amazing, but the packaging is what really makes her special IMHO. @selenagomez worked with hand therapists and engineers to design a bottle that’s actually easy to hold, press, and open especially for anyone with dexterity challenges. It’s so special to see this deep of love and intention being put into a product, but I’d expect nothing less from Rare. The oversized pump takes barely any pressure to mist, the curved shape of the bottle actually fits naturally in your hand, and the twisting lock cap feels so intuitive (and great for travel!) NEW VS ORIGINAL EVALUATION 👀 As we all probably know by now, @esteelauder reformulated their iconic Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation after 30 years of it remaining untouched. We got so many requests asking for a side by side eval of the original vs. the new formula, so after months of secretly evaluating her, here’s what stood out to me as a product developer myself. If you’re an OG Double Wear lover, the biggest differences to me was that the new formula takes two layers to reach the same full coverage the original gave in one. And because she now has more skincare built in, she’s no longer that bone-dry matte the original was. She’s still matte, BUT with a softer finish that leaves a subtle sheen as she settles throughout the day. On my skin, with my personal foundation preferences, I see this as a big upgrade. Mostly because it feels more modern and moves with your skin versus just settling on top and getting patchy. But what do you all think? We got so many requests asking for a side by side eval of the original vs. the new formula, so after months of secretly evaluating her, here’s what stood out to me as a product developer myself. I’ve been wearing and evaluating her for weeks now and truly ran her through the wringer. When I see videos from that time, I feel a strange ache. Not because I looked “bad,” but because how I showed up didn’t always match how I felt inside. A quiet kind of dysmorphia. A disconnect between who I was becoming and who the camera caught. I never chased a public platform. It found me. And I’m always choosing to show up in my own way. Authentic ❤️ Looking back, I catch myself judging past versions of me who were just trying to stay safe. I’m learning to hold those versions with more tenderness instead of critique. Compassion is part of healing. Makeup saved me in ways I didn’t expect. It helped me see myself when I felt disconnected from my body. And it still does. So if today means anything to me, it’s this: 
Valentine’s isn’t about loving a “final version” of yourself.
