2016. The year I pressed record… and scared myself silly.
That’s when I posted my first YouTube video. A simple everyday makeup look.
I had just quit a safe, well-paid job in fashion because my gut said, “This isn’t it.”
No plan. Just a pull toward something else.
I had a little camera time, loved makeup, and owned a few palettes and paint brushes.
I grabbed our big Sony camcorder.
Books became my tripod.
Windows were my ring light.
One corner of our bedroom was my “studio.”
I filmed by day.
Learned editing from YouTube at night.
I posted every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30am PST.
Butterflies every single time. Still get them.
What started as an experiment turned into something I never saw coming.
Back then, I was almost 40, starting over, and unsure of everything.
This journey became my biggest blessing.
Reminder to you (and me):
You don’t need fancy gear.
You don’t need it all figured out.
You just need the courage to start… even when your hands shake.
