After highlighting some top Olden Tymee and International sandwiches from 2025 in the last two vids, today we look at the failures. Yes, it’s the Top 5 Worst Sandwiches of 2025 on Sandwiches of History. When I went back and reviewed the data from this year’s video I was surprised to not have given a zeroes. But that is due to me leaning on the half point a lot. I guess I figure it’s all food and therefore has to really be just god-awful to the point you wouldn’t touch it even if you were starving (which is probably a pretty high bar tbh). Enjoy? I’ve long resisted the call to do a sandwich based off of a comedians joke. Not because I don’t think they’re funny but because the sandwich is never intended to be eaten. After all, it was a joke. So I was not gonna make the late great comedian Mitch Hedberg’s Pastrami, Cottage Cheese, and Banana Bread Sandwich. The week flew by and here we are once again with International Sandwich Sunday. Woot! Today, were headed to Taiwan for the Taiwanese Breakfast Sandwich. For International Sandwich Sunday we’re headed to Germany and the easily pronounce Mecklenburger-Stulle mit herzhaftem Käse. As you’ll see in the video there was no way I was going to try and pronounce all that. But this is rather tasty sandwich from the bread to the mustard to cheese to radishes to the hard boiled egg. It’s a hearty vegetarian sandwich from Germany. It has been a while but we are back with OG cookbook that started Sandwiches of History, The Up-To-Date Sandwich Book of 1909. Today, we’re taking on the Berlin Sandwich…which features a cheese with a French name…made in America. Hmmm, odd. Still, it looks to be a tasty sandwich as it is really a half step from the green olive and cream cheese sandwich. One more orbit around the sun has transpired for yours truly and, as is tradition for my birthday here on Sandwiches of History, I’m making a sandwich just because I want to. For the past 4 years I’ve made The Tomato (twice), The Bologna, and The Collard Melt, all of which are fantastic sandwiches from the cookbook, Turkey and The Wolf: Flavor Trippin’ In New Orleans. After all, it calls for copious amounts of prepared horseradish and spicy mustard. Not to mention the raw onions. But it does also call for cheddar cheese and, in the one mentioned in the book, roast beef. That said, Glenn indicated that it was better when made with peanut butter. So imma try em both!
