BEST OF 2025. ✨ 10 of the best things we added in our new kitchen. (You’ll want to be sure to save this for your future self) I know firsthand how many decisions come with designing a kitchen and the worst thought is, what if I’m not thinking of something?! The rug in front of our door was a constant issue- no matter what we tried it was always out of place. We decided to just remove the rug all together and did something even better. I searched all of Pinterest to find old pharmacies and city buildings with mosaic tiled entrances to come up with how I was going to do our house number with hex tiles. A couple of inexpensive tiles later and we have a totally custom front entry.

I searched all of Pinterest to find old pharmacies and city buildings with mosaic tiled entrances to come up with how I was going to do our house number with hex tiles. A couple of inexpensive tiles later and we have a totally custom front entry.

Best of 2025✨ They say the standard height for upper cabinets from the counter is 18 inches and shouldn’t be less than 15” or more than 20” away… guess what- I disagree. Ours are 27” above our countertops and I LOVE that we made that decision. For reference I’m 5’6”. My thoughts: 👇🏼 ➖ it allows our backsplash to be what you see first ➖ It’s never dark under our cabinets ➖ the kids can comfortably sit on the counter to help cook ➖ can still easily reach upper cabinets and we store things we rarely use at the very top. ➖ allows the vent hood and side cabinets to all be the same height across for a more simple look ➖ The counters never feel crowded Let me know what you think…

I couldn’t be happier with how our 10’ island turned out. It’s organic, modern and perfectly imperfect which I love the most. When I first opened these doors it was like I was opening doors to a castle- or entering into a Kardashian’s house, either way, it was like whoa- this is GRAND. I spent months figuring out how I wanted to incorporate our panel ready refrigerator into our modern kitchen design. We ended up matching our white oak @bokeafront wood fridge panels with these 63” tall white oak handles. We did a half circle at the top as a callback to our circle cabinet pulls. This is the @zlinekitchen 60” dual panel ready refrigerator and freezer. It’s huge, very tall, and perfect in our space. Holds lots of DP 😘.

Literally one of those things where you’re like, how did we ever live without this?? The $130 gadget from Ikea allows us to push our garage drawer open hands-free. It’s so convenient and definitely a must add to your future or existing kitchen.
