I knew the wind would be brutal, the days hiking would be long, and the majority of the battle would be in my head, but I did it! A backpackers worst nightmare… 😫 Thank goodness I was staying with my best friend and she had stuff I could borrow to get by, but man oh man was this not what I wanted to be dealing with before flying off to the other side of the world. Anyone else ever lose a bag on a trip?

Everyone said it would rewire my brain 🧠 The timeline of my life is now shaped in before the Ha Giang loop and after the Ha Giang loop so I guess they were right. Good shade vs bad shade 👇🏻 Bad shade does nothing good for lighting your subject. It typically looks like one big shadow down the middle of their face with light coming from multiple directions. Good shade lights your subject up with even light coming from one light source. And it’s quite easy to find good shade, just hold up your phone camera to yourself and spin in a circle until you get rid of that deep shadow OR spin in a circle in the shade with another person. What other lighting questions do you have? 👀 consider me sat to answer these questions.

You love everyone in your life and they love you right back. You aren’t scared of the what ifs, you’re embracing new possibilities. You love everyone in your life and they love you right back. You aren’t scared of the what ifs, you’re embracing new possibilities. And maybe find yourself taking your contacts out on a sleeper bus in the middle of Vietnam 🤪 Anyone else start over in their 30s?

392 days after that and her peace is hers ✨ I filmed this video in a moment where I thought my career as a photographer and content creator was over. I planned to ghost all of you and disappear without an explanation because it all felt like too much of a mess to unravel or explain. In the following days I said to my 16 year old niece while rambling about my options “I’ll just pack a bag and travel for a looooong while.” And she said “you should!” A few weeks later she called me and said “have you bought your plane ticket yet?” I was shocked because of course I didn’t. I had 193693618 things to do before that would even make sense to do and it wasn’t that simple. But then I realized, it is that simple. So I made a rough plan and chose change the fear of flipping my life upside down into excitement. My life has changed, my friends have changed, my career has changed. And all that change has brought me peace.

Without a creative challenge do we lose our creativity? 🤔 It had been entirely too long since I challenged myself while taking photos which got me thinking that I probably feel like I’m in a creative rut because I’m not even trying to be creative. (Does that make sense or did I just write one massive run on sentence?)
