Picked up my first Rolex to mark the moment in time that was my Sour Strips journey. What started as a goofy idea on my 30th birthday 9-9-19 quickly turned into one of the fastest growing sour candy brands of my generation to then be purchased by Hershey on 11-08-24. My younger self could have never imagined the outcome that my life has been so far, but I hope that when I look down at this watch it reminds me of the work that went into the idea that changed my life forever. Also I can’t wait to give this sucker to my son in the future 🫶🏼 For the watch nerds: 40mm Platinum Day Date

My younger self could have never imagined the outcome that my life has been so far, but I hope that when I look down at this watch it reminds me of the work that went into the idea that changed my life forever. As I turn 36 years old today, I realize that 35 was my best year yet. I married the love of my life, sold my company to Hershey, bought 15 acres to build our home, added another doodle to the fam, and experienced the greatest miracle of all — the birth of our first child. I never could have imagined my life working out the way it has, but I’m forever grateful that it did. Cheers to 36 and seeing how we can top what we have achieved thus far 🫡

Little did I know that this dog would quickly become my best friend and sidekick for every single moment that would happen after that. For the last 12 years I’ve shared my entire life on social media. By doing this, It’s really easy to let other people’s opinions consume you. Judging every move you make, assuming things that aren’t true and sometimes even hoping for a downfall but honestly I am the happiest I’ve ever been. Life’s good, business is good, & the family is great. Thankful that God brought Taylor into my life because it would be quite boring without her 🙂‍↕️ So honestly can’t complain much so here’s to 2026 being filled with sick YouTube videos 🤟🏼

It’s now been almost 1.5 years since I sold @sourstrips to @hersheycompany and it has been quite an emotional roller coaster. I started Sour Strips basically as a side quest of a dude who makes goofy videos online and also happens to love sour candy. There was no expert knowledge on how to build a CPG brand, no partners giving me advice, just a small team figuring out the business day by day and making a ton of errors along the way. Before I knew it, we started selling millions of bags of candy a month and quickly became one of the fastest growing sour candy brands of my generation before getting on the radar of one of the largest candy companies in the entire world. I never started the company with the intention to sell, but I knew that I wanted Sour Strips to become a legacy brand that people could enjoy long after I’m gone. Hershey understands the vision and the quality standards we have for the brand and I can’t wait to see how they scale it into one of the most popular sour candy brands in the world at lightning speeds. As someone who struggled in school my entire life and always felt like certain levels of success were reserved for people that were not me, the outcome of this story is something spectacular. I will always be so proud of what we accomplished with Sour Strips as it truly changed my life forever. I also hope that anyone who has been following along on this journey can now understand that if YOUR BOY CAN DO THIS….anything is possible if you just keep putting in the work.
