Opened in 1975 as a Chinese restaurant and banquet hall, throughout the mid-2000s, China Chalet’s upstairs rooms took on a second life for live music where psych rock, hip hop, electronic music, DJs, drag and performances all found a home. China Chalet closed in 2020, after 45 years and is now a games arcade.
