Seen? Especially in a world where youth seems to be the only measure of what is cool and/or relevant and by association, important. When @chanelofficial opened their first couture collection under @matthieu_blazy with an older brown woman, I had to think: when was the last time I saw this from anyone, which in and of itself, is a disappointingly familiar question. I literally said out loud: “it’s me” when I saw her walk out. Not literally me, but right down to the hair? (which is completely coincidental), but still, seeing older woman after woman of different nationalities shown in an aspirational manner is the breath of fresh air that’s not just been so needed but so wanted. It’s a desire that goes hand in hand with the couture that they were covered in. #chanel #welovecoco #matthieublazy #chanelhautecouture

What I wore to the @thombrowne ss26 men’s & women’s show and to close out my Paris Fashion Week on the most magnificent high. Thank you to the team for considering me again. I will never forget this. Seeing @cosstores sharing current season during #nyfw will always be a favorite. To attend I layered all their pieces together. A cropped trench jacket over a navy shirt dress, worn open and layered over men’s trousers. Finished with an oversized hat to make everything feel me. Did you know that before I was into blogging many years ago I used to only really wear black? I didn’t even realize that’s what I was doing until two people pointed it out to me on separate occasions. I realized after that, that I was dressing down for how I was feeling inside. Where I wasn’t feeling any joy in what I was doing at the time and it was reflected in the way I dressed. This post represents the exact opposite. It represents the current version of myself looking at that past version of me and tell her that it is going to be ok.
