It’s been on our minds for a long time to have a second home in Paris outside of New York. This is one of the apartments that we viewed in Paris on a previous trip. It’s in the 9th arrondissement. When @chanelofficial opened their first couture collection under @matthieu_blazy with an older brown woman, I had to think: when was the last time I saw this from anyone, which in and of itself, is a disappointingly familiar question. I literally said out loud: “it’s me” when I saw her walk out. Not literally me, but right down to the hair? (which is completely coincidental), but still, seeing older woman after woman of different nationalities shown in an aspirational manner is the breath of fresh air that’s not just been so needed but so wanted. When @chanelofficial opened their first couture collection under @matthieu_blazy with an older brown woman, I had to think: when was the last time I saw this from anyone, which in and of itself, is a disappointingly familiar question. I literally said out loud: “it’s me” when I saw her walk out. Not literally me, but right down to the hair? (which is completely coincidental), but still, seeing older woman after woman of different nationalities shown in an aspirational manner is the breath of fresh air that’s not just been so needed but so wanted. What I wore to the @thombrowne ss26 men’s & women’s show and to close out my Paris Fashion Week on the most magnificent high. Thank you to the team for considering me again. I will never forget this. It was worth my last minute scramble to find a men’s vintage coat.
