This year was the best year of my life until it very quickly was not. So so so so so many highs and then suddenly the loss of two of the things I love the most. Saying bye to our dog and getting let go from my dream job was not the way I saw this year ending. I took a little while to feel really sorry for myself, but I don’t think it would be fair to be only sad after all of the good that happened this year, too. The happy deserves to be sat with as much as the sad does, even more so if you ask me. I hope the good outweighed the bad for you this year, and even if it didn’t, take a moment to sit with the good parts. It helps, I promise.

Coming off of a big weekend celebrating getting married, I realized how many other things all of the girls who came out to celebrate me have been celebrating, and how we might not do it in as big of a way, even though it’s so deserving. I just think this is important to take note of because everyone’s journey is different, and every single one of them is exciting. #poetry
