Paralympic Gold medallist Richard Whitehead MBE with a 2:54:19 at the BMO Vancouver Marathon @bmovanmarathon #bmovm #runvan Breaking the Marathon World Record for fastest amputee last year in 2:41:36, Richard is now running 20 Marathons in 2025 to reach a new '100 Marathon Milestone' before year's end. Vancouver in May marks the British Paralympian's 90th official Marathon. Wow. As Richard races around the world, we hope, like you, he'll always remember Vancouver for the loving community support and stunning scenery. "Vancouver is beautiful" and "felt inspired" reads Richard's immediate post-race post. Dayna Pidhoresky continues her dominance with a 2:35:07, now holding the Top 3 all-time results at the BMO Vancouver Marathon @bmovanmarathon @runvancanada #bmovm #runvan Dominic Arce hit a new course record in 2:14:33. Visiting from Oregon, USA, Arce ascended past the old course record of 2:15:01 held by Yuki Kawauchi of Japan, who was third this year in 2:18:16. The overall event record remains 2:13:14 by Garry Henry of Australia. In 2:16:53, Tristan Woodfine from Ontario takes second overall and Top Canadian along with Dayna. Lindsay Lamrock, from PEI, and Claire Sumner, from Alberta, Canada, round out the women's podium in 2:39:50 and 2:45:27. Congrats to all Marathon finishers! Please do your part to also plan ahead and be prepared for race day. Here's some race tips and guidelines as you enter into an exciting race week: Marathon and Half Marathoners may bring clothes to check at the Expo, for pickup post-race. You may also leave a warm layer on the Start Line fencing and it will be donated to charity. Corrals and wave starts assist volunteers and help ease congestion. Start only with your corral. Bibs must be visible and may not be resold. If you haven't secured entry, volunteer and cheer! Headphones should be removed. Enjoy the race environment and do not block other racers. Recycle and never litter. Dispose of cups and gels at aid stations, never on the streets or course. TravelSmart to your start and arrive early to avoid stress: bmovanmarathon.ca/travelsmart Invite friends to cheer loud but never to enter onto the course. Reunite at the Victory Plaza. Post-race collect your new finisher medal and one serving per food item. Continue to celebrate. Here's some race tips and guidelines as you enter into an exciting race week: Marathon and Half Marathoners may bring clothes to check at the Expo, for pickup post-race. You may also leave a warm layer on the Start Line fencing and it will be donated to charity. Corrals and wave starts assist volunteers and help ease congestion. Start only with your corral. Bibs must be visible and may not be resold. If you haven't secured entry, volunteer and cheer! Headphones should be removed. Enjoy the race environment and do not block other racers. Recycle and never litter. Dispose of cups and gels at aid stations, never on the streets or course. TravelSmart to your start and arrive early to avoid stress: bmovanmarathon.ca/travelsmart Invite friends to cheer loud but never to enter onto the course. Reunite at the Victory Plaza.
