Today me and the fellers were deep into a recording session cutting a tune called ‘Wrestling An Angel’ when my wife told me our friend Bob Weir had made his journey from this earthly realm into the heavens. We are all completely devastated but I also can’t help but feel like he is at total peace and more magical now than he ever was. I’ve never knew a person so in tune with the cosmos. Who was so mystical and smart and mysterious, alluring and radiant. He was a star wrangler .. a celestial skysage who traded fear for wonder. Now he is riding the northern lights and skipping barefoot between the constellations… We took a while to try to understand the news and then told some beautiful stories about our times with him.. but eventually we decided to pick ourselves up and got back to recording our music because that’s what he would have wanted us to do. As he said “There’s work to be done.” I’ll always cherish the memories I have of Bob .. of hanging out in his hotel room and him showing me his record collection and mobile recording rig. Sitting there listening to kind of blue in silence. Soaking in the frequencies. Of him busting into ‘when I paint my masterpiece’ at my wedding.. and in an instant he turned the place into a joyous musical celebration. It was the greatest gift anyone could have given us. He was always ready to “Kick up a fuss” He always had boundless time and knowledge to share with everyone and was truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. The world is a better place because of him. I’m extremely grateful to have crossed paths with him in this life. I am sending all of my love and prayers to his beautiful family and my heart breaks for them.. having just lost my mother recently I comprehend and sympathize with how hard it is to lose someone we hold so dear. Words are hard to find in these moments.. I just know that he has had such a profound impact on so many of us and we will all carry that onward into the horizon until we someday meet again. Heavens choir just gained a beautiful new voice. There is joy in knowing he is with some of his old friends again.. singing and laughing and playing beautiful songs. Thank you Bob. ❤️

Well, can’t say y’all didn’t warn me about screwing around on my skateboard!! Saturday night I walked off stage right before the encore I was all zazzed up from a really fun show. I grabbed my board and tried to do a trick I’ve done a million times (back 180) and landed awkwardly and broke my leg. I heard it snap over the screaming crowd!! Sounded like a damn 2x4. It’s been an interesting couple days to say the least complete with the most extreme pain and crazy ketamine trips and operations stuff but the staff here at UVA rules. They screwed me all back together. They are absolute angels on Earth. I had every intention of carrying on with the tour and Dave Grohling it. He even texted me and offered me the throne! I really don’t want to let anybody down, but after some long talks with these doctors, my friends, band and colleagues, my wife etc.. I should probably let this thing heal. I don’t believe that I could give you guys the show you deserve coming right out of this surgery and these first few days are really important as far as keeping this thing elevated and letting it heal. Plus I’m all messed up on pain killers and stuff. It’s a dumb ass mistake and it’s all my fault .. I feel like such an idiot. But what are ya gonna do , ya know? At least I didn’t hit my head or break my wrist or something. The remaining Spring shows in Charleston and Fishers are being rescheduled to later this year: CHARLESTON, WV April 22 → August 4, 2026 FISHERS, IN April 24 → August 6, 2026 April 25 → August 7, 2026 April 26 → August 8, 2026 Your tickets will still be good for the new dates. Again, I’m really sorry and I promise I will make it up to you. See you this summer.

The last few weeks since the ‘back to the beginning’ shows I have been so happy to see all the love for Black Sabbath and Ozzy. So many people sending so much love all at the same time to this groundbreaking band and their freaky fearless frontman. I’m so glad they got to play together one last time!! I’ll never forget my dad sitting me down and showing me Black Sabbath when I was about 6 or 7 years old.. he called me from across the house and sat me down and dropped the needle on the first record. I remember being absolutely traumatized by it and it’s stuck with me ever since. There will never be another like him. I was so grateful that I had New Year’s Eve off this year when my buddies in Widespread Panic called me and said that they may need me to fill-in for Jimmy, who is navigating some serious health problems. I came ready to play as much or as little as they needed me and I was so happy but not at all surprised when Jimmy absolutely KILLED it and worked those three shows like the friggin’ beast that he is!! They didn’t need me, That’s for sure. But we had such a blast playing together. He is such an amazing cat and beautiful soul. A true master at his craft and genuinely kind human. I’ll be praying for him and his whole family and crew until he kicks this shit’s ass and gets back out on stage. We love you Jimmy!! Get well brother ❤️ And all you long-haired spreadnecks don’t fret!! Nick Johnson is an absolute monster on the guitar and is going to handle the reins until Gandalf the loud can get back in the saddle. Let’s all send the band our love and light. WSMFP forever and always!!! 📸 @joshtimmermans
