Ad. As always, I had an absolute blast putting this scene together with @bed.threads linens. I’m never not amazed at how their stunning linens so effortlessly create the most wonderful vibes. The courgette bake was a knockout and truly such a wonderful, rustic dish to place on the summer dining table. Recipe below ❤️

INGREDIENTS:

- About 8 (plus minus) large ripe courgettes. Ideally a mix of colours, sliced into thin rounds using a mandoline or sharp knife
- 2 brown onions, halved and sliced into strips
- 6 garlic cloves, finely sliced or crushed
- half a cup milk, cream or creme fraiche
- 1 tsp or more ground black pepper
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1 cup grated Gruyere
- 1 cup grated Comte
- Lots of Parmesan for grating

For the basil sauce, blitz:
1 large handful basil leaves
A generous glug extra virgin olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt to taste

→ Blitz until smooth and taste to adjust. Should be herby, salty and very lemony!

METHOD:
- Preheat oven to 200C fan
- After slicing courgettes, tip into colander or spread on rack over tray, sprinkle generously with salt, leave to drain 45 min–1 hr
- Pat slices dry with paper towels and press gently to remove more water. Squeeze if still moist
- In large frying pan, sauté onions and garlic in a drizzle of olive oil until softened and golden
- Add milk and simmer until thickened and reduced (whisk in 1 tbsp flour if you like it thicker) (no need to reduce too much if using cream or creme fraiche)
- Season with black pepper, salt and nutmeg
- Spread a third of the onion-milk mix into base of ovenproof dish
- Top with a third of the courgettes, spread evenly, scatter cheeses, and repeat until courgettes are used up
- Drizzle generously with olive oil and bake until golden and bubbling, ~45 min
- If top isn’t golden enough, grill for 5 min at end
- Serve with fresh bread, salted butter, a zippy side salad and lashings of lemony basil oil all over courgette bake

’Tis almost the season for obligatory holiday rom-coms – a duty most of us are only too happy to fulfil. No matter where in the world you are, there’s nothing as soothing as curling up on the sofa with Love Actually, You’ve Got Mail, or perhaps the cosiest of them all – The Holiday.

Someone who needn’t switch on the TV to revel in cinematic comfort is YouTuber and actress @tanyaburr – she’s living in it.

“Nancy Meyers’ films are always kind of my biggest inspiration,” Tanya laughs, referring to the iconic work of The Holiday writer and director. “Those films where everything just feels lived-in, and like a real family home.”

And it’s true – her Victorian Terrace in North London has all the charm of a storybook filmset with none of the artifice. Here, with her boyfriend Dan and their three-year-old son Sage, Tanya is creating a home “full of love, warmth, and special memories.”

Yes, chef! 🍽
Valentine’s these days feels less about one kind of love & more about all of it; partners, friends, family, & the people who make life feel full, especially during times of change.
We marked it with spaghetti, wine & a table dressed in @bed.threads French flax linen in Sage, Olive & White; soft, grounding and made for gathering. Recipe for the pasta below 🤍 /ad

INGREDIENTS:
• 400g dried spaghetti
• Flaky sea salt
• 4–5 tbsp olive oil
• 4 large garlic cloves, finely sliced
• 1 very spicy red chilli, finely chopped
• 100g Tuscan kale, stems removed and roughly chopped
• Zest of 2 lemons
• Juice of 1½–2 lemons, to taste
• 25g unsalted butter
• 1 cup finely grated Parmesan, plus extra to serve
• Freshly ground black pepper

For the breadcrumbs
• ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• Pinch of salt
• Finely grated lemon zest (optional but recommended)

METHOD:
	1.	Heat a glug of olive oil in a small frying pan over medium heat. Add the panko breadcrumbs and cook, stirring often, until deeply golden and crisp. Season with a pinch of salt and, if using, a little lemon zest. Set aside.
	2.	In a wide pan, combine the olive oil, garlic and chilli over low heat. Cook gently until the garlic is soft and fragrant but not browned. Add the butter and let it melt into the oil.
	3.	Add the kale with a small pinch of salt and cook until just wilted and glossy. Stir through half of the lemon zest and a good squeeze of lemon juice. Turn the heat off while the pasta cooks.
	4.	Bring a large pot of well-salted water to the boil and cook the spaghetti until 2 minutes shy of al dente.
	5.	When the pasta has about a minute left, ladle around ½ cup of the pasta water into the kale pan and bring it back to a medium heat. Transfer the spaghetti directly into the pan, letting the water cling to it.
	6.	Add the remaining lemon zest, most of the Parmesan and plenty of black pepper. Toss continuously over the heat until the sauce becomes glossy and lightly creamy, loosening with more pasta water if needed. Taste and adjust with more lemon juice, Parmesan or salt.
	7.	Transfer to a large platter and finish with extra Parmesan, a drizzle of olive oil and the golden breadcrumbs.
