Maple Coconut Cloud Coffee

Recipe:

* 3 tbsp (45 g) whipping cream
* 1 tsp maple syrup
* 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
* Double shot of espresso
* Ice
* 4 oz (120 ml) coconut water

Whip the cream, maple syrup, vanilla, and espresso until thick and creamy. Add ice and coconut water to a glass, then spoon the maple coffee cloud on top.

Save this for your next hot summer coffee day.

High protein Iranian saffron ice cream in the Ninja Creami, inspired by traditional Bastani with saffron, pistachio, and frozen cream.

Recipe

340 g Fairlife vanilla protein shake (30 g protein)
30 g heavy cream (2 tbsp)
7–8 saffron strands, bloomed in 10 g hot water
2.5 g rose water (½ tsp)
24 g erythritol (2 tbsp)
0.5 g xanthan gum

Blend well. Freeze 24 hours.
Spin on Lite Ice Cream, scrape sides, Respin, add 15 g pistachios, run Mix-In.
Top with frozen cream and enjoy.

Flat Base or Ripple Base Tamper? 

Episode 6 of this series, and this time I tested one of the most asked tamper questions!

I pulled 3 baseline shots with WDT and a basic tamper, then 4 shots with the Ripple tamper and 4 shots with the Flat tamper, with a 10-minute rest between each shot.

Baseline average extraction: 19.9%
Ripple Base average extraction: 20.92%
Flat Base average extraction: 21.03%

Both tampers improved extraction, and the Flat base came out just slightly ahead today. But the difference was very small, so I can’t say with confidence that one is clearly better than the other.

My takeaway is simple: both work well. If you already have one, there’s no real reason to switch. But if you’re buying a new tamper, a flat base is probably the safer pick.
