The collaboration also involves co-branded merchandise, uniforms for aspiring dealership technicians and a Carhartt edition of the 2027 Ford Super Duty pickup.

The Federal Trade Commission is warning 97 auto dealership groups their advertised prices must include “all required fees,” the vehicles advertised must be available and the price in the ad must be offered to all customers, the agency announced March 13.

“The Trump-Vance FTC is committed to preventing auto dealers from misleading consumers with low advertised prices and then adding on mandatory fees at the end of the purchasing process,” Christopher Mufarrige, director of the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection, said in a statement. “The FTC will remain focused on monitoring auto dealerships to ensure that the market functions efficiently and competitors are transparently competing on price.”

Stellantis is telling U.S. employees they must report to their offices five days per week, marking an end to the automaker’s flexible stance on remote work in the years since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The automaker, which is seeking to regain lost market share in the U.S., says it will be stronger with employees at their offices full time. The policy change will be implemented over the next two months.

A spokesperson said the move applies to all U.S. employees, wherever they are based, if there is an office they can go to.

“As Stellantis implements its growth strategy, in‑person collaboration and connection will be key to delivering exceptional products and services to our customers,“ the company said in a Jan. 30 statement.

”Under new guidelines, U.S. employees will transition to a fully onsite schedule over the next two months to further strengthen alignment, teamwork, and hands-on engagement with Stellantis vehicles and technologies," the statement continued. “This announcement is confirmation that bringing teams together to build stronger connections is a competitive necessity.”

Honda’s CR-V has capitalized on inventory shortfalls at Toyota and Ford to become America’s bestselling light vehicle in the first half of 2026.

U.S. sales of the CR-V surged 19 percent in May and 30 percent in June, to a midyear tally of 226,114. That beats year-to-date estimates of 209,311 for the Ford F-150 and 194,807 for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, according to GlobalData, as well as Toyota’s reported sales of 153,955 for the RAV4.

The F-150 has been the industry’s top seller in 15 of the past 16 years, but aluminum supply issues have constrained output since the fall. At the same time, a disruptive model changeover for the RAV4 has put Honda in the driver’s seat of the vast compact crossover segment.

Porsche will cut more than 500 jobs and exit three non-car-making business lines as the company refocuses on its core luxury vehicles amid mounting pressure from U.S. tariffs and slumping profits.

Porsche said its Cellforce battery cells developer, Cetitec data communication software company and electric bike performance business will be discontinued.

Cellforce no longer has a sufficiently viable long-term perspective while Cetitec has been impacted by the changed market environment and development scopes, Porsche said. The electric bike performance business faces fundamentally changed market conditions, the company added.

Ford Motor Co. is drastically scaling back its electric vehicle plans and refocusing its U.S. manufacturing footprint on hybrid and gasoline vehicles to reduce losses from an EV market that never developed the way it envisioned.

Ford on Dec. 15 said the change in strategy will cost the automaker about $19.5 billion that will mostly be accounted for in fourth-quarter special charges. Still, Ford raised its 2025 guidance to “about $7 billion” in adjusted earnings before interest and taxes, from a previous range of $6 billion to $6.5 billion, citing “continued underlying business strength” and cost improvements.

Ford said it is discontinuing the F-150 Lightning, a truck its top executives once likened to the Model T in significance, after less than four years of production. Ford already halted production in October after a fire at an aluminum plant supplier so it could divert resources to more profitable gasoline and hybrid versions of the F-150.

Dealership service departments are losing customers to quick lube shops — and pricing strategy is largely to blame, according to new data from global research and consulting firm Ducker Carlisle.

“The quick lubes are what everybody should be worried about,” Nate Chenenko, a principal and leader of global benchmarking activities at Ducker Carlisle, told Automotive News.

Dealerships made less money in 2025 than in 2024 and “quick lubes made more,” he said.

NASCAR driver Joey Logano is taking the longtime industry adage “win on Sunday, sell on Monday” literally.

The three-time series champion, who races Ford Mustangs for Team Penske, bought an ownership stake in Huntersville Ford, a North Carolina dealership that’s part of Krause Auto Group. Logano will work closely with operating partner Stacy Cowan, the store’s general manager.

Logano told Automotive News that Huntersville Ford is his hometown dealership and that he developed a relationship with its staff over the years by borrowing cars for marketing events and partnering to give away vehicles through his charity. He said he spent the past year or so educating himself on the retail industry so he could hit the ground running.

“There’s a lot to learn, but I also feel like I can bring a lot to the table,” Logano said. “As a race car driver, you have an unfair advantage in business because I’m able to pretty much connect with about anyone I want to connect with, which is a great tool to have. The goal here is to take what Huntersville Ford already is in the Krause Auto Group, that’s grown an incredible business, and try to add a little bit more to it.”

Late last year, a handful of retired Honda Motor executives started meeting privately to discuss the Japanese automaker’s troubles and the person they believed was the cause: CEO Toshihiro Mibe.

Over months of text messages, as well as meetings and meals that sometimes included current executives, they laid out a case against the former engineer, according to a written summary of their discussions reviewed by Reuters and interviews with two participants.

They blamed Mibe for neglecting China, the world’s biggest auto market, and making a “failed” bet on electric vehicles that would leave Honda with its first annual loss in seven decades. They accused him of paying more attention to Honda’s golf sponsorship than its business.

Ferrari enlisted LoveFrom, the design firm founded by former Apple designers Jony Ive and Marc Newson, to develop the interior and user interface of its first fully electric sports car.

The move signals a pivot by Ferrari toward a design language that balances Apple-esque digital minimalism with a commitment to tactile, mechanical switchgear.

Ferrari unveiled the cabin of the model on Feb. 9 at an event in San Francisco.

The automaker confirmed the vehicle’s name, Luce, meaning “light” in Italian, signaling a departure from the brand’s traditional alphanumeric or geographic naming conventions.

The project is the most prominent outcome to date of Ferrari’s multiyear partnership with LoveFrom, which was founded by Ive after his departure from Apple. LoveFrom worked alongside Ferrari design chief Flavio Manzoni to redesign the user experience for an electric-era supercar.
