The Federal Trade Commission is warning 97 auto dealership groups their advertised prices must include “all required fees,” the vehicles advertised must be available and the price in the ad must be offered to all customers, the agency announced March 13.

“The Trump-Vance FTC is committed to preventing auto dealers from misleading consumers with low advertised prices and then adding on mandatory fees at the end of the purchasing process,” Christopher Mufarrige, director of the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection, said in a statement. “The FTC will remain focused on monitoring auto dealerships to ensure that the market functions efficiently and competitors are transparently competing on price.”

Stellantis is telling U.S. employees they must report to their offices five days per week, marking an end to the automaker’s flexible stance on remote work in the years since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The automaker, which is seeking to regain lost market share in the U.S., says it will be stronger with employees at their offices full time. The policy change will be implemented over the next two months.

A spokesperson said the move applies to all U.S. employees, wherever they are based, if there is an office they can go to.

“As Stellantis implements its growth strategy, in‑person collaboration and connection will be key to delivering exceptional products and services to our customers,“ the company said in a Jan. 30 statement.

”Under new guidelines, U.S. employees will transition to a fully onsite schedule over the next two months to further strengthen alignment, teamwork, and hands-on engagement with Stellantis vehicles and technologies," the statement continued. “This announcement is confirmation that bringing teams together to build stronger connections is a competitive necessity.”

Ford Motor Co. is drastically scaling back its electric vehicle plans and refocusing its U.S. manufacturing footprint on hybrid and gasoline vehicles to reduce losses from an EV market that never developed the way it envisioned.

Ford on Dec. 15 said the change in strategy will cost the automaker about $19.5 billion that will mostly be accounted for in fourth-quarter special charges. Still, Ford raised its 2025 guidance to “about $7 billion” in adjusted earnings before interest and taxes, from a previous range of $6 billion to $6.5 billion, citing “continued underlying business strength” and cost improvements.

Ford said it is discontinuing the F-150 Lightning, a truck its top executives once likened to the Model T in significance, after less than four years of production. Ford already halted production in October after a fire at an aluminum plant supplier so it could divert resources to more profitable gasoline and hybrid versions of the F-150.

NASCAR driver Joey Logano is taking the longtime industry adage “win on Sunday, sell on Monday” literally.

The three-time series champion, who races Ford Mustangs for Team Penske, bought an ownership stake in Huntersville Ford, a North Carolina dealership that’s part of Krause Auto Group. Logano will work closely with operating partner Stacy Cowan, the store’s general manager.

Logano told Automotive News that Huntersville Ford is his hometown dealership and that he developed a relationship with its staff over the years by borrowing cars for marketing events and partnering to give away vehicles through his charity. He said he spent the past year or so educating himself on the retail industry so he could hit the ground running.

“There’s a lot to learn, but I also feel like I can bring a lot to the table,” Logano said. “As a race car driver, you have an unfair advantage in business because I’m able to pretty much connect with about anyone I want to connect with, which is a great tool to have. The goal here is to take what Huntersville Ford already is in the Krause Auto Group, that’s grown an incredible business, and try to add a little bit more to it.”

Ferrari enlisted LoveFrom, the design firm founded by former Apple designers Jony Ive and Marc Newson, to develop the interior and user interface of its first fully electric sports car.

The move signals a pivot by Ferrari toward a design language that balances Apple-esque digital minimalism with a commitment to tactile, mechanical switchgear.

Ferrari unveiled the cabin of the model on Feb. 9 at an event in San Francisco.

The automaker confirmed the vehicle’s name, Luce, meaning “light” in Italian, signaling a departure from the brand’s traditional alphanumeric or geographic naming conventions.

The project is the most prominent outcome to date of Ferrari’s multiyear partnership with LoveFrom, which was founded by Ive after his departure from Apple. LoveFrom worked alongside Ferrari design chief Flavio Manzoni to redesign the user experience for an electric-era supercar.

Hourly UAW members at Stellantis will not receive profit-sharing payments this year, the first time they’ll miss out on the annual bonuses since 2011, after tariffs and lower sales pushed the automaker’s North American operations into the red.

The average payout for UAW workers at the Detroit 3 is about $6,200 this year, nearly 40 percent less than the 2025 average of almost $10,000.

Ford Motor Co. workers will get around $6,780 from profit sharing in March, down from $10,200, while General Motors employees can expect as much as $10,500 extra in their Feb. 27 paychecks, a 28 percent decline.

Infiniti’s first new model since the pandemic, the two-row QX65, launches in a few months with a four-cylinder engine, but the brand already is planning to give the fastback crossover a V-6 next year.

A V-6 will join the lineup in 2027, paving the way for a high-output Red Sport variant later, a person with knowledge of the plan confirmed to Automotive News.

The upgrade revives Infiniti’s driver-focused legacy from the FX era, positioning the QX65 as more than just a stylish entry-level crossover for the luxury brand that has seen its U.S. sales cut in half since 2019.

“The V-6 is still king in this segment for the perception of power,” said the person, who asked not to be identified because the plan is not public. “Infiniti wants a performance model for every vehicle eventually, and the V-6 makes that easier.”

As Stellantis sets its sights on a sales resurgence, the automaker is putting an emphasis on quality to ensure buyers will come back in a few years.

CEO Antonio Filosa has put the company on a “global offensive” to improve quality as it launches a series of new and redesigned products.

Stellantis has hired more than 2,000 engineers in recent months, many of them tasked with quality, amid what Filosa calls a “deep reset” of the organization that began last year.

Chief Quality Officer Sebastien Jacquet has a seat on the strategic leadership team, which Filosa said shows that quality is a priority. Filosa ran the quality division for several months in 2025 until Jacquet succeeded him.

“We are resetting execution and improving quality management processes to address previous operational issues triggered by past decisions,” Filosa said on a Feb. 6 earnings call with investors.
