This man has wanted one more baby for so long, but we were content and made peace with having one after a long road of getting our current toddler here.

Just after his 40th birthday, life shocked us. I think our reactions were eerily similar… just pure shock 😂

He’s already named the baby, I don’t think I have a shot at changing his mind. Grateful he’s the dad to my babies. Happy 40th @mikelemieux 🥳💕

Not the result I expected, but also... kind of validating? 🩺 Got my hormone panel done with @midihealth and found out my testosterone is way lower than it should be. Turns out testosterone isn’t just a ‘guy thing’ — it plays a huge role in energy, mood, and motivation for women too, especially in perimenopause. This is part 1 of me figuring out what’s actually going on with my body. More to come.

Follow @ashleyklemieux to reach your goals no matter your age 😘Welcome to the place where we don’t believe in timelines. I’m 39 and I swear to you I’m just getting started.

I was talking to a 25 year old last week who isn’t married and wants children, and said she feels so behind and like she’s running out of time. I told her I felt that way too, but I promise she has so much time.

I have something I’ve called “the look back theory”, and it’s when we look back at each decade of our life, where we once felt pressure to figure it all out, and realize how young we still were. The age you are right now is the same age you’ll look back on in 10 years and be like, I was so young! I wish I wouldn’t have been so hard on myself! When I feel pressure, I ask myself what 70 year old me will look back and think about this time of my life and it helps me put it all into perspective.

Make the pivot. Dream the dream. You’re not too lost. You’re not too late. You’re not too far behind.

How old are you, and what are you hoping to do this year? Let’s encourage each other to stop holding ourselves back due to made up timelines.

There was a time when today’s shopping trip for shorts would have ended so badly internally- but it doesn’t now that I shop with my toddler.
To her, getting bigger clothes means she’s growing up. It’s a normal thing to get the next size up. So when my shorts *did not* fit today, it was a no problem, silly thing that made her laugh and laugh.
I’ve promised myself, and her (even though she doesn’t know it), that I won’t have negative reactions about the appearance of my body in front of her. And instead, I try to talk to myself like I hope one day she talks to herself.
Today when my mind was going off on how big I thought my legs looked and the cellulite coming out of the tight shorts, I said, “I love how strong my legs feel.” And then my internal story shifted.
Speaking to myself the way I hope my daughter speaks to herself heals a part of me that diet culture broke.

I really believe we have the power to create moments where our children see their mothers and women around them love themselves- and break the cycle so they grow up speaking lovingly to themselves, too.

Here’s to more giggles in the dressing room 😉

Drop a ❤️ if you’re in for raising a new generation of girls who love themselves.

I just know I can’t be the only one who struggles with this question❤️
Sometimes my heart and my brain have to catch up to each other when I answer and today was one of those times.

I was filming an appointment to bring you along for something I’m doing, and this question always knocks the wind out of me for a second when I’m at the doctor. When I looked back to edit the appointment I realized what had happened.

She was so kind about it, but somehow you have to explain the worst thing to ever happen to you and continue on like it wasn’t. But I think that’s what grief is, no matter the loss- the world keeps moving forward while you try to keep up and you wonder how everyone else is continuing when your world has shattered. I’m so proud of all of us ❤️

I wanted to share this because the world puts a timeline on grief- but I’m 6 years out from one late pregnancy loss, and 10 months from another, and the grief still takes my breath away most days.

I hold so much joy. And also, grief is a part of my story. Wanted you to know that whatever timeline you’re on, is normal and real. I’m so sorry if you understand how hard this question is. I haven’t really seen how hard a simple question at the doctor can be to answer talked about, it’s not simple for all of us.

Thanks for being here- it’s the space on the internet where we keep learning how to navigate joy and grief together 😘

I’ve been asking myself this question a lot during this pivot year of mine- “I’d die for my daughter… but how can I live for her?”

I realized that showing up for myself is showing up for her. That healing for me is healing for her. I don’t get mom guilt for doing things that light me up, she needs me to be lit up.

I think it’s more courageous to live for them. Drop a ❤️ if you’re in for raising a generation of kids who see their moms live full, joy filled lives?! You’re in the right place 🥰❤️

It’s been 5 months since I started testosterone, and I’m so happy we found what I needed to boost my energy. I teamed up with @midihealth to figure out my hormones and why I felt so “off”. Midi Health specializes in perimenopause and menopause, so you have practitioners who listen and get you going on next steps right away.

I’m so excited to see how I feel in just a few months from now! Comment MIDI and I’ll send you the link to schedule your virtual appointment! #MidiPartner

Wasn’t prepared for this Bluey episode and wanted to share 😭❤️When a cartoon heals a little part of you…

Was watching Bluey with my 4 year old when I realized what this episode was about, and being a few months out from our late pregnancy loss, it was honestly everything I needed to hear.

What I love most about their conversation about why Bluey’s aunt doesn’t have a baby and is sad is that, Chili (the mom), doesn’t end with “everything happens for a reason”, or anything else to try to bright side the situation. She simply acknowledges that it’s a hard situation without trying to fix it.

Having my daughter see her own lived experience in a character that she loves is so impactful. These are great moments to talk about loss with your kids. Kids benefit by seeing what they’re working through mirrored in books, movies, shows. This is why talking about pregnancy loss, infertility, and all that comes with it matters so much.

Sending ❤️❤️❤️

The last couple of weeks have asked more of me than I knew I had to give. In fact, it’s taken more from me than I did have to give, and our people have shown us what it’s like to be carried through it.

I haven’t cooked a meal yet because meals keep showing up every day from our friends.
Grocery deliveries.
Friends dropping everything to watch our daughter.
Flowers and flowers and flowers that bring light to our home.
Heating pads and tea to dry up my milk delivered.
Texts that tell me they’re dropping something at my door if I want a hug, but also they understand if I want my space.
Kids books on grief and stuffed animals for my toddler to hold.
Prayers, messages and hope sent from strangers.

The last few weeks have changed me. I’m still trying to find my footing and catch my breath. I don’t yet know what this season looks like for me, but what I do know, is that we need each other. I hope to find the spaces where I am needed for others.

Thank you for the messages I can’t reply to but still feel, and for being here even when I don’t have the words. Being here feels vulnerable for me, but also like the next right step. I hope you feel a little less alone in whatever seasons you’re walking through, too. We’ll keep walking through it all, together💕

It’s not often talked about- pregnancy loss and dealing with weight gain, but without the happy ending to go along with it. My body feels different, my clothes are too small, and it’s been hard for me to accept this part.

Trying on clothes with my toddler heals a little part of me, because she doesn’t care about any of that. She just wants to know if it has pockets 😂🥹

Having a daughter, I’m so intentional about staying neutral when trying on clothes because I know she’s watching my reactions, hearing my words, learning how to speak to herself. I never comment about my body, but it doesn’t mean the thoughts don’t come.

As I was internally upset about my body, and trying on clothes that are larger than what I was wearing earlier this year, I heard a little, “that’s gorgeous”!

Through the eyes of my toddler, either an outfit fits or it doesn’t, and the story isn’t bigger than that.

After I was done trying on clothes, she walked in front of the mirror and spun around *exactly* how I had just been doing. She smiled and said, “my outfit is cute!”

Our kids need to see women who accept themselves. And those women, can be us. ❤️

Thought I’d reshare this for a holiday reminder.

Who else is trying to heal their diet culture wounds through breaking the cycle for their kids?

And PS- buy pants that fit. It feels so good 😘

The recent shift from family planning to family raising has felt like a bit of a sucker punch to be honest. Today was the first doctor appointment I’ve had where we talked about hormone support, instead of fertility and pregnancy.

I feel grateful for the time we spent growing our family. For our miracle girl who joined us. Sad for the two sons who didn’t make it earth side. Relief that I won’t be pregnant again. Nostalgia thinking about when I was, and knowing I won’t ever experience it again. It really all did happen so fast, and we spent so many years trying to grow what we currently have.

I think this is a part of motherhood so many of us feel but aren’t prepared for. A shift in the season, a shift of focus.

I opened my makeup drawer today and my stash of so many pregnancy and ovulation tests were staring at me and I knew it was time to let them go. I even found old fertility treatments. Goodbye to those I won’t miss them 😅

My body feels like it can take a breath. And it also will miss the rush of knowing a new life is inside. The kicks, the changes, the growth.

And now, it can rest. The end of an era, and the start of a new one.

Has anyone else experienced this feeling?

After my last reel went viral about the Bluey episode about infertility, so many of you told me to watch this episode. I watched it with my daughter yesterday and the parts of me that this cartoon is healing is so unexpected…

When you see hard lived experiences acknowledged in media, it opens up a part of you that helps you realize you’re not alone.

What I love most about this scene, is you only subtly pick up on the fact that Chili and Bandit lost a pregnancy because of their reaction when the balloon popped. Chili is trying to keep it together in front of her kids, and it is so damn relatable-

Because that’s what we do. Go through hard things and figure out how to parent through the midst of our grief.

Bluey is an adult therapy disguised as a kids cartoon, I’m sure of it 😂❤️ What is the next episode I need to watch because these are wrecking and healing me all at once.

Sending ❤️❤️❤️ to anyone who knows this feeling.

What I love most about this scene, is you only subtly pick up on the fact that Chili and Bandit lost a pregnancy because of their reaction when the balloon popped. Chili is trying to keep it together in front of her kids, and it is so damn relatable- Because that’s what we do.
Comment RESET for a simple spring reset you can do with your partner.

I’ll never forget the time where I sat next to my husband and said, “physically we’re together all the time. But emotionally, I’ve never felt so far apart.”

Has anyone else gone through seasons like this?

Here’s what we did to start connecting again:

We had a special meeting that we blocked off in our calendars, and brought out a white board. On it, we drew an island, and made a list of everything we would allow on our island, and the things we wanted to keep off.

We then made an intention for our life in that season, and focused on goals for four areas to work on *together*
1️⃣ Emotional/physical wellness
2️⃣ Finances
3️⃣ Relationships
4️⃣ Spirituality

We now have this same Clarity meeting every quarter and it’s changed our lives. We recently did it so we can be on the same page going into this new season.

This is the power of breaking the cycle.

My mom just left after visiting for a couple weeks and I was thinking about all the cycles she broke to raise us differently. Generational healing comes from someone choosing to create new patterns, and consciously passing them down. I didn’t hear a lot of what my mom heard growing up.

With a new starting point different than my mom had, I now get to create new patterns for my own daughter.

What generational phrases are you rewriting? 💕 Sending love to everyone breaking the cycle.
