Jenny Danzi, CMO of Poppi, shared what media marketing was like when she first started at Pepsico.

“I joined PepsiCo 17 years ago, and one of my first jobs was running social media for Mountain Dew. So if you tweeted at Mountain Dew, it was me on my BlackBerry replying to you.”

“We went viral all the time. I maybe only got in trouble three times. So I have always been a believer that the best social brands are the ones where it's a real human who knows the brand loves the brand talking to other real humans.”

Danzi then explained how media marketing has evolved since then.

“I don't think that's changed. I think it's just accelerated.”

“Particularly with Poppi and the social team, we're letting Poppi be Poppi. We are not trying to slow anyone down, change anything. They know what they're doing and we stay out of the way.”

We asked @RosenZone, founder of Express Checkout, possibly the most decisive question we’ve ever asked on the show: @drinkolipop or @drinkpoppi?

He came back with a killer answer: Both of them.

“They’re still both leaders and winners in the space,” said Rosen.

Poppi was acquired by @PepsiCo in 2025, while Olipop remains independent. However, Rosen envisions that an Olipop acquisition is in the near future.

“It’s really hard to maintain a large business like that,” said Rosen.

Liquid Death and Garage Beer just dropped a new campaign urging people to send their pee to data centers. We had Andy Pearson, VP of Creative at Liquid Death, on our live show to give us the inside scoop on how they came up with the idea for this campaign.

“We have a small team of entertainers and comedians here on staff that we get to work with. And then on top of that, sometimes we convene a sort of Avengers roundtable of other working comedians.”

“Sabrina Jalees, she threw out this idea of, like, using pee to cool data centers. And we're like, yeah, it's funny.”

Andy further elaborated on these “comedian Avengers” and how they are incorporated into the ideation process.

“We have like comic ambassadors. So we have a number of up and coming comedians that we just support.”

“We'll just spend, you know, some hours together just batting around stupid ideas and everyone trying to make each other laugh.”

We asked Max Reisinger, CEO of Creator Camp, if brands should be spending their money on organic social campaigns, or TV spots.

“Why not do both? If it works on the feed and it works on TV it’s a win-win.”

“The nice thing about social is like, you have an audience that comes back and can build a brand, you can build loyalty there.”

Max expanded on this by sharing some recent work he did for WABi.

“We posted a video yesterday that now has 2.6 million views in the last 24 hours.”

“There’s a lot of value to that, beyond just an impression. It’s like, how do you build a community for your brands? How do you get people excited and like following along?”

Pumpkin Spice is back and Starbucks just dropped a new campaign with Martha Stewart and Belmont Cameli. We had Jackson Ozark, Creative Director at Conscious Minds, on the live show to talk about how amazing working with Martha Stewart was.

“She's a delight. She's so sweet. She's so nice to the crew. She's funny. She gives her little like asides at times.”

He then shared his reaction to Martha commenting on the campaign.

“We were cracking up about it. It was going in all the slack channels and everything like, ‘Oh my God, Martha commented.’”

“Yeah, the celebrity comments or the celebrity says something. It's a nice cosign. It's a nice plus up. But when they do something organically, that kind of gives a second wave to the conversation around it like that.”

K18 Hair and Uncommon Creative Studio have released a massive rampant “Tumblehair” into the streets of New York. We asked Lauren Cooper and Cara Johnson, Creative Directors at Uncommon, how on earth they came up with this insane idea.

“K18 has a product coming out this week called Future IQ, and the number on it is that it can save an individual person up to 19,000 hairs.”

“We figured, well how many hairs is 19,000 in a city of 8.5 million, like New York. And that’s how we came up with a giant 8 to 10 foot tall hairball.”

They also talked about what kinds of reactions they wanted out of New Yorkers.

“What’s the point of making a hairball if nobody is terrified by it?”

“We were thinking, what would absolutely blow people’s minds as a way to visualize a ton of hair?”

Nick Miaritis is the new Chief Brand Officer at Scott’sMiracle-Gro. On our live show, he shared how the brand’s presence has evolved over time.

“We went from six seasonal campaigns…To, I think the number was like 16 or 17,000 individual pieces of creative just this season.”

Miraritis then elaborated on how they are able to produce these massive amounts of content.

“I think the unlocks have been flexibility in the media plan, you know, nothing being too firm there.”

“It’s being relevant in the pipes of social, and how you do that and win today is the abundance of creative.”
