A small business worth trying, add Nam Tao Huu to your Portland dessert list! 💖 Nam Tao Huu is a Thai soy milk drink and dessert spot in NW Portland, inspired by the owner’s childhood memories of enjoying soy milk desserts at local markets in Thailand. 🇹🇭🥛 Everything is made fresh to order with their house-made soy milk, making it a great plant-based alternative! We tried: ✧ Original Soy Milk ✧ Thai Tea with Soy Milk ✧ Butterfly Pea with Limeade ✧ Toasted Bread with Pandan Custard ✧ Chinese Donut with Condensed Milk ✧ Crispy Tofu with Sweet Chili Sauce ✧ Intanin Butterfly Pea ✧ Soft Pandan Coconut Rolls ✧ Matcha Red Bean Swiss Rolls My favorite drinks were the original soy milk and Thai tea! The soy milk was surprisingly creamy and smooth with no gritty texture, and the Thai tea was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. 😮‍💨 The limeade was also super refreshing for summer! For snacks, I loved the crispy tofu, Chinese donut, pandan coconut rolls, and Intanin Butterfly Pea dessert. ❤️ The Chinese donut with condensed milk reminded me of childhood, while the coconut rolls were chewy with a delicious pandan flavor. The Intanin was another favorite with its chewy texture and subtle jasmine floral notes! 💐 I’ve had this spot on my list for a while, and I’m so glad I finally stopped by. 🫶 The owner was also incredibly sweet and welcoming! Definitely check out Nam Tao Huu and support this lovely small business. 😊❤️ 📍Nam Tao Huu | Portland, OR (NW) 💸 $7+ per drink, around $8+ for snacks and desserts 🏷️ #portlandeats #portlandfoodie #pdxeats #pdxfood #pdxfoodie nw portland • portland food • portland eats • pdx eats • soy milk desserts • desserts in portland

A recent eat I can’t stop thinking about 🍝💗 Gabbiano’s @gabbianospdx is a neighborhood Italian-American spot in NE Portland serving up comfort food, cocktails & retro vibes. The perfect combo for a night out! 💖 Their menu has staple favorites alongside rotating dishes inspired by seasonal flavors and ingredients. This was another spot that had been on my list forever after so many recs, and I finally got to try it with my favorite girlies 👯‍♀️ What we ordered: ✧ House White Wine ✧ Aperol Spritz ✧ Signature Cocktails ✧ Fried Mozzarella ✧ Stone Fruit Panzanella ✧ Dungeness Crab Alla Vodka ✧ Sweet Corn Ravioli This spot is so well-known and hyped that I was a little skeptical about whether it would live up to expectations, but it definitely exceeded them 😭 Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and each dish stood out in its own way, which made picking favorites so hard. 🥺😥 If I had to choose one appetizer and one main, I’d come back for the Stone Fruit Panzanella & Dungeness Crab Alla Vodka in a heartbeat. 🥹🫶 The peaches and heirloom tomatoes paired SO perfectly together and made for the ultimate summer dish ☀️🍑🍅 The dungeness crab was sweet and shredded throughout the pasta, so you got a little in every bite with their yummy spicy vodka sauce 🤌 The vibes and food were both too good! 🙂‍↕️ I can totally see why everyone loves this spot and why there’s usually a wait!! Already wanting to come back to try more of the menu, and I definitely have my eye on the tiramisu next 🍽️🍰 📍Gabbiano’s | Portland, OR 💸 Around $40+ per person 🏷️ #gabbianos #portlandeats #portlandfoodie #pdxfoodie #pdxeats italian food in portland oregon • portland eats • portland foodie • pdx restaurants

FINALLY crossing off @kalesacoffee off my Portland coffee shop bucket list!! 💖 Kalesa is a community-oriented coffee shop inspired by Filipino flavors and pastries. Even better? All of their syrups are made in-house 🤭 so you already know everything is packed with flavor. While browsing their website, I learned that a kalesa is a traditional horse-drawn carriage in the Philippines with deep historical significance. The shop thoughtfully weaves that symbolism throughout the space, celebrating Filipino heritage, fostering community, and challenging traditional cultural narratives. 🐎 We ordered the coconut cold brew with ube whip and their seasonal mango matcha. Both drinks were bold, balanced, and so flavorful! The coconut cold brew was my favorite—not too sweet, with the housemade ube whip taking it to the next level. 🤤 The mango matcha was also incredible. I loved the mango coconut milk they used, and the matcha was SO vibrant. 🙂‍↕️ It always brings me so much joy to discover new small businesses with people I love. I’d fly back to LA just for this ✈️🍧 Summer is the perfect time for frozen treats, and this LA pop-up deserves a spot on your must-try list! Yamanaka Kakigōri serves traditional Japanese shaved ice, known for its light, fluffy texture topped with housemade syrups, condensed milk, fresh fruit, mochi, and other delicious toppings. They even import ice from Japan, giving their kakigōri its signature melt-in-your-mouth texture. Their menu rotates with the seasons and features Asian-inspired flavors, so there’s always something new to try. My brother has been a regular here for a while and insisted I check it out while I was visiting family. I’m so glad I did!! We ordered the Lychee Jasmine Tea and Matcha Tiramisu, and I was honestly blown away by how soft and airy the shaved ice was. ☁️ The Lychee Jasmine Tea tasted just like a creamy jasmine milk tea, especially with the lychee jellies and mochi. 🥹 The Matcha Tiramisu was rich, earthy, and perfectly balanced with the crunchy crisps on top. I’d fly back to LA in a heartbeat just to have another bowl of their kakigōri. If you’re in the greater LA area this summer, be sure to follow their page to stay updated on upcoming pop-up dates. You won’t want to miss it! 🍧✨ 📍Yamanaka Kakigōri | pop-ups in the greater LA area 💸 $11+ for kids size (pictured in video) or $15+ for regular size 🏷️ #laeats #lafood #lafoodie #lafoodscene #kakigori la pop-ups • la food • la food scene • la eats • la foodie • japanese kakigōri

Kicking off Portland patio season with @dirty.pretty.pdx 🍻✨💕 Dirty Pretty is the sister bar to @pinkrabbitbar and @foolsandhorses, located on Burnside. They serve a creative cocktail menu alongside Taco Bell-inspired bites. 🌮 The space is beautifully decorated, and the patio is spacious, vibrant, and perfect for soaking up Portland’s sunny days. ☀️ We stopped by for happy hour (Monday–Friday, 4–6 PM), where specialty cocktails and food items over $7 are $2 off. 🫶🥳 My favorite drink was the Rocket Science, which the bartender recommended! It has gin, lime, simple syrup, and Fee Foam, and it was so refreshing. 💖 As for the food, it was solid as snacks while drinking! I spent around $30 with tip for 2 drinks & all of the shared food, which I feel like is a good deal!! 🥺 I’d definitely come back for the cocktails and to hang out on the patio again. 🥹🍸 📍Dirty Pretty | Portland, OR 💸 Around $25+ per person during happy hour 🏷️ #portlandeats #portlandfood #pdxeats #pdxfoodie #portlandfoodie portland or • portland bars • pdx eats • pdx foodie • portland foodie

New Asian-inspired specialty coffee shop in LA (✿◠‿◠) H&A Coffee is Rosemead’s newest coffee shop, founded by Heshan & Alexander, who set out to bring flavors inspired by their backgrounds and travels into the 626 coffee and matcha scene. ☕️🍵💕 Their menu features LA’s first Tjendol Latte, made with pandan tjendol, espresso, and fiber cream milk. ✨ Tjendol is a popular Southeast Asian dessert that I grew up eating, made with chewy pandan rice flour jellies, so I was really excited to try their take on this dessert 🥹🫶 I tried their Tjendol Latte ($7), Duo Matcha ($7), and Pandan Matcha ($7), and I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite. The Tjendol Latte had a bold espresso flavor balanced perfectly with fragrant pandan and brown sugar notes, while the fiber cream milk made it extra rich and creamy. 💖 Both matcha drinks were smooth, creamy, and had a vibrant matcha flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. 🍵 Their house-made pandan syrup was definitely the star for me! 🌿 Every time I come back to LA, I’m excited to discover all the amazing new cafes opening around the area. @grindwittryz has been on my list to try for a hot minute now, and it was sooo worth the wait ❤️‍🔥 GrindWitTryz is a well-loved local Portland spot serving up Hawaiian and Filipino comfort food 🌺🇵🇭 It’s been recommended to me so many times by some of my friends who grew up on the islands, so I’ve been super excited to finally give it a try! 🥹 We ordered: ♡ Ono Chicken Plate ♡ Kalua Pig + Coconut Shrimp Plate ♡ Meat Jun + Coconut Shrimp Plate ♡ Poke ♡ Teri Beef + Korean Fried Chicken Plate Out of everything we tried, my favorites were definitely the ono chicken and teri beef!! 🫶 The ono chicken pieces were HUGE but still perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and so flavorful. The teri beef was sooo delicious too — thinly sliced with the perfect little crisp on the edges 🤤 I also really loved the mac salad that came with each plate! I’m normally not a huge mac salad person, but this one was yummyyyy. At a Beli rating of 9.7/10, this might be my new favorite restaurant in Portland. 🙂‍↕️🫶 Lansdowne (@lansdownepdx) is a gem tucked away in NW Portland, featuring a rotating menu that highlights seasonal, locally sourced Pacific Northwest ingredients. I had this spot bookmarked after seeing their gorgeous patio on Instagram and hearing a few local creators rave about the food. ✨ My uncle was visiting from California, and it ended up being the perfect place to enjoy Portland’s summer weather over an incredible meal featuring local ingredients. What we ordered: ♡ Pink Lady cocktail ♡ Glass of Columbia Valley, WA white wine ♡ Oysters ♡ Focaccia with whipped brown butter honey ♡ Cavatelli ♡ New York steak ♡ Chocolate cake I love a good gin cocktail and the pink lady really hit the spot for me! It was perfectly balanced with the right amount of sweetness. 🍸 Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully executed, making it nearly impossible to choose a favorite. 🥹 That said…the focaccia completely stole the show for appetizers. The bread was unbelievably fluffy, and the whipped brown butter honey was absolute perfection. 🤤 The cavatelli pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and featured cucamelons, an ingredient we had never tried before, which made the dish even more fun and memorable. The aged New York steak was incredibly tender, and the bright chimichurri-style sauce paired so well with the sweet, juicy tomatoes. 💕 We ended off with the chocolate cake which was decadent, dense and not too sweet. 🍫 Every single dish impressed us, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. I can’t wait to see how the menu changes with the seasons, and I look forward to trying their tasting menu in the future 😄 📍Lansdowne | Portland, OR 💸 $80+ per person 🏷️ #portlandfoodie #portlandeats #pdxfoodie #pdxfood #pnwsummer portland must try • portland oregon • portland patios • portland food

Quick trip down to Seattle to finally try Sushi Kaunta in Kent for Valentine’s Day! 💖🍣 Sushi Kaunta @sushi_kaunta has been on our list to try forever and is highly recommended by everyone who stops in! 🥹 It’s a one-man operation by Chef Sean, who carefully curates each dish on the menu. Reservations are made in advance with staggered times and pre-orders to ensure he has enough time to prep and take care of each customer! We got the miso soup, 14 piece chef’s choice nigiri & scallop nigiri. 🫶 The miso soup was so flavorful & made fresh to order! Chef Sean explains all of the fish to you and where each comes from. Overall, all of the fish were such great quality and very buttery! 🤤 I think we only had one fish that was not our favorite and we personally prefer our sushi rice with slightly less vinegar. The tuna, sea bream, unagi and scallops were standouts for us! ♥️ The restaurant was very cute and cozy, and we had a wonderful time! We look forward to visiting again & trying their beautiful kaisendons! 😊 Be sure to check out Sushi Kaunta for your next sushi craving!! 🥰 📍 Sushi Kaunta in Kent, WA 💸 $50+ per person 🏷️ #sushikaunta #kentwa #seattlefoodies #seattlefood #seattleeats

In case you’re wondering, Mako Matcha Mill @makomatchamill is worth the hype 🍵👀 This is Portland’s newest matcha cafe located in DT/Pearl District serving 12oz $4 matcha lattes & $3 matcha americanos! 🫶 I’ve been wanting to try, but there have been some crazy lines on the weekend! I went on a weekday afternoon; there was no line to pay and about a 20 min wait for the actual drink. 🍵 I heard that people waited 1.5 hours on the weekend, so going during the week is the move 😌 The drinks are hand whisked, which is always a plus. I believe they’re using matcha from Japan, but will eventually use matcha milled in store from a farm in Oregon!! 🥹 During my visit I got a 12oz jasmine matcha latte with jasmine cheese cold foam for $5.50. I prefer my matcha on the strong side & not too sweet, so their ratio was perfectttt. The matcha was strong, smooth and not bitter. 🤗 I loved the cheese foam but wish there was a little more 🥺 The staff & atmosphere was lovely as well. I saw people studying so I will definitely be back to try more drinks and hang out!! 🥰 Congrats to the owners on their successful soft opening!! 🥳 🏷️ #portlandoregon #portlandfoodie #portlandmatcha #makomatchamill #portlandeats

portland’s newest cookie + matcha cafe 🍪🍵✨ from pop-ups at local markets to their first brick-and-mortar on n williams, meet @kokikoki.bakehouse 🤍 kokikoki focuses on quality ingredients — from rich butter to real belgian chocolate in their cookies 🍪 alongside their baked goods, they offer a variety of drinks ranging from classic coffee lattes to matcha + hojicha 🍵 i loved that they had several matcha powders to choose from for their drinks! the owner was so lovely, and this felt like the perfect post-midterms treat on a sunny portland day ☀️ i tried their hojicha latte, which was exactly how i like it — creamy with deep chocolatey + nutty hojicha flavors 😋 i also grabbed a hojicha cookie for my boyfriend, and he loved the chewy texture! 💕 i especially appreciated that everything wasn’t overly sweet, plus you can customize the sweetness of your drinks at their self-serve bar area! ‼️ one thing to note is that the cookies are $9, which is definitely on the pricier side, but understandable given the premium ingredients and quality they use. already excited to come back and try more from their menu 🥹🫶 📍 Kokikoki Bakehouse in Portland, OR 💸 16+ per person (cookie + drink) 🏷️ #kokikokibakehouse #portlandeats #portlandfoodie #pdxfoodie #pdxeats

Seattle’s favorite hand roll bar got an upgrade ✨🍣 Sugo Hand Roll Bar @sugohandrollbar now has a 14 course omakase for $95 per person! 💗 On Thursdays at 5:45pm and 8pm, experience an intimate omakase experience at Sugo - located right by Pike Place Market. Chef Han pairs fresh, quality fish with flavors from around the world including inspiration from Korea, Thailand, Greece and beyond. 🌏 The chefs were friendly and knowledgeable, explaining each course. We loved trying all the fish and were surprised at how delicious some of the flavor pairings were. 🤩 Our favorites were kampachi, kinki and uni. 🤤 Everything was great, although we wished for some pieces, there was a little less sauce to let the fish shine through. You can also add a 5 flight sake/wine pairing for $40 🍶 as well as additional sushi after the meal. 💖 Be sure to make a reservation and give this omakase a try for yourself! ☺️ Thank you @sugohandrollbar for having us! 💌 #hosted 🏷️ #seattlefoodie #seattleeats #seattlefood #sushi seattle foodie • omakase • seattle food • seattle eats
