We bought our first ever expensive machine to make the tastiest brownies ever, but on the way to our new factory it broke. $4,000 down the drain. Luckily, we were able to get it fixed with the help of a new friend, who’s a skilled mechanic at our new manufacturing partner’s facility. Shout out to David the legend, this brownies for you 👨‍🔧⚙️📕🍻

On May 16 a massive tornado hit St. Louis, where our co-founder Jacob just finished law school and caused substantial damage to the building he has lived in for 3 years. The storm is reported to have now killed up to 7 in St. Louis and 30 across the storm path. Recovery is slow and federal response has not been substantial or enough to support the region. St. Louis and the WashU community has been incredibly helpful as we have started this journey and we wanted to share resources on how you can donate if you can. We’re also donating proceeds for the next two weeks to support these recovery efforts. Wishing the best to everyone in the region and thank you all for joining us on this journey.

Expo west is the largest food trade show in the us hosting over 65,000 attendees and 5,000 brands. The show focuses on the natural products space and is often the biggest and best showcase opportunity for emerging brands. We were generously supported by our undergrad this year to go and while we had the cheapest booth possible feel the show could not have gone better!  💡 Advice for attendees: make sure to eat breakfast and plan out after events well in advance 🤝 Networking tips: there will be soooo many people to chat to. Make sure to really build those deep relations but also catch up with tons of people  🌟 Overall experience: 11/10 this truly was one of the most fun experiences of our lives and totally transformed the direction of our company in the best way 🚀 Future industry trends: taste and texture are king. Ingredient trends come and go but going back to real foods that actually taste good and fit people’s lifestyle showed up prominently throughout the show. Expect to see less gimmicks and more real innovation with an emphasis on flavor and usability for wider audiences.
