On Wednesday (March 18), the jury decided the rapper was not liable for defamation in connection with the 2023 lawsuit. Afroman spoke to the press outside the courthouse. "I didn't win, America won. America still has freedom of speech. It's still for the people, by the people," he said. The case stems from a police raid conducted on the rapper's home on suspicion of drug trafficking and kidnapping in 2022. However, following the search, authorities failed to file any charges.
