Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead Sunday at their Los Angeles home in what police described as an apparent double homicide. Their son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested and charged in connection with the killings, according to the LAPD. Playhouse officials said Reiner frequently expressed gratitude for the training he received in New Hope and fondly recalled his time there. He was part of a notable season that included performers like Alan Alda, Liza Minnelli, and Merv Griffin, and joined a long list of alumni — including Grace Kelly and Robert Redford — who launched major careers after apprenticing at the theater. What are your thoughts? The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission says the Washington Crossing Bridge is suffering from major structural, operational and safety problems as officials begin deciding what should happen to the 120-year-old span. In a newly released video, the commission outlined long-standing issues with the toll-free bridge that links Mercer County, New Jersey and Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The bridge was built in 1905, predates modern automobile traffic and now has narrow 7.5-foot travel lanes, limited load capacity, frequent vehicle strikes and aging foundations. The video is part of a multi-year “Washington Crossing Bridge Alternatives Analysis,” launched in August 2024, to study options for improving safety, mobility and pedestrian access while protecting nearby businesses. Officials must also decide whether revenue from the commission’s toll bridges should be used to fund major work on the aging structure. Two public scoping meetings are scheduled: Feb. 10, 5:30–8 p.m. at The Crossing Church in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. Feb. 11, 5:30–8 p.m. at Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad in Titusville, New Jersey. Have you heard? @roccosatthebrick abruptly closed Saturday night, catching employees and customers off guard just as the busy holiday dining season was set to begin. Staff said they were informed of the shutdown at the end of their shift, and by Sunday no explanation had been provided publicly, fueling widespread speculation online. Some residents speculated that the closure stemmed from a dispute between the restaurant’s operators and the owner of the Brick Hotel, while others pointed to increased competition from The Capital Grille, which opened in 2024 at the Village at Newtown. The restaurant, known for steak, seafood, and its scenic views of State Street, offered indoor and outdoor dining and a popular bar. Its sudden closure left many customers concerned about unused gift cards. A sign posted on the door Sunday stated “We Are Closed” and said gift card refunds would be available on Monday, listing a contact phone number. Another notice clarified that the Brick Hotel remains open, as it operates separately from the restaurant. Rocco’s had opened inside the historic Brick Hotel in early 2018. The building, owned by Verindar Kaur—who also holds the liquor license—was previously featured on Gordon Ramsay’s Hotel Hell, where Ramsay harshly criticized the property before it underwent major renovations that paved the way for Rocco’s arrival. - Follow for more local updates #buckscounty #buckscountypa #panews #phillysuburbs #newtownpa #townsofpennsylvania

Have you heard? The company announced the closure Monday in a Facebook post but did not provide a reason. According to comments online, employees said they were not given advance notice of the shutdown either. A note posted on the restaurant’s door thanked the community for more than two decades of support, expressing gratitude to both guests and staff who helped make the business possible over its 23-year run. The announcement quickly drew reactions from longtime patrons, many of whom shared memories of the brewery and said the closure was another tough loss for the New Hope community. Triumph Brewing Company confirmed its other locations in Princeton and Red Bank, New Jersey, will remain open. According to comments online, employees said they were not given advance notice of the shutdown either. A note posted on the restaurant’s door thanked the community for more than two decades of support, expressing gratitude to both guests and staff who helped make the business possible over its 23-year run.
