A few days ago, @connor.runge and I sent this super fun linkup in Macaguato in a 2 day push!! (5.12c, 5.13c, 5.13b, 5.12a, 5.12b) 😍💫✅

The climbing here in @macaguato is AMAZING! Crimpy, technical face climbing (my favorite!) with some stunning jungle views. There are so many paths to the top, we decided to start with “Metele Como Es” (pitching it out) and link up with “Chango” dubbing this new path up the wall “Metele Como Un Chango” 😂🐒 we felt so lucky to be climbing some of Jorge’s beautiful pitches here in Colombia 💫

Although this linkup didn’t come without its stressors given that both of us wanted to lead every pitch (this meant a lot of jugging for Connor), I’m proud of our team ascent. I’m also grateful that Connor chose to spend the extra day on the wall so we could top out together, given I needed a bit more time working the harder pitches than he did 🩷 (and for hauling for us… 😅) I was also psyched to have @gabo.romer0 up there on our adventure filming and taking photos the whole way thru!

I didn’t think I could do it so quickly, uncertain about how my wrist and body could keep up post injury. But as you can see from this clip— in classic Anna Style— I fell upwards to the chains each time 🤯 I love the audio on this video!! The cheering always helps me send 💯

This feels like another major turning point for me in my wrist recovery. I feel I can start trying hard again, for multiple days in a row(!!) 🥹 I could cry happy tears!!! Cheers to a healthy and strong start to 2026 🥰

Here’s a vid from a fun recent project I did for @rab.equipment.uk and @goretexbrand.

Alongside sharing some winter climbing tips and ways to stay safe, I got to put next-gen GORE‑TEX® Pro Garments for durable weather protection through its paces in Scotland, The Alpes and Quebec — and see just how far it could take me!

Ask any climber in Chamonix and they’ll tell you: the Cosmiques Arête is by far the most popular climb in the Mont Blanc Massif.

And for a good reason: it’s a rare combination to have such good rock and a short approach from the Aiguille du Midi, with incredible panoramic views all around. The downside? It can be very busy, meaning you’re often waiting in line for the abseils.

Rab athlete @philippklein has some tips for avoiding the crowds “we spent the night on the Cosmiques Hut and left well before the first cable car arrived. Bonus point: besides being alone up there, you also get to do it during sunrise, a truly magical experience.”

Dreamcatcher 🫴🏼💫

This process started with a conversation I had with Jeremy. I told him it would be really cool to try this route, and he told me I could definitely do it. I hope all of you find someone who believes in you more than you dare to believe in yourself. I know it would have been much harder to commit to big goals without Jeremy’s constant support and confidence in me. I’ve never really had much time for outdoor projecting. Chasing competition goals didn’t leave much space for giving myself fully to the rocks. This year, though, I had the privilege of choosing, and I decided to split my time between those two passions. Two trips and ten sessions later, I was sitting on top of Cacodemon boulder, crying. The road there was anything but smooth. Climbing is often viewed as an individual sport, but you can’t get very far without your community. For starters, you need a belayer 🤪 (unless you’re free soloing). Add a breastfed 13‑month‑old and lack of sleep to the equation, and things get even trickier. I wouldn’t have gotten here without my people and the many friends, old and new, who offered catches, beta, encouragement, and support along the way. This send also became my first 9a, but more than anything, it reminded me that interdependence is what got me here. Maybe climbing should rethink how individualistic it claims to be. I’ll share more about the projecting process in the next post 🫡

Shout-out to all of you:

“Onsighting a 5.13a/7c+ again, especially one that @_linacolina_ once onsighted, felt meaningful on many levels.”

Recently, Rab athlete @jenya_kazbekova took on her first climbing sport project postpartum, a 7c+/5.13a called The Perfect Child.

We asked Jenya about her experience:

“Ever since Taya came, I have been consistently putting in the work, using @climbingwithjoy mindset that something > nothing. And slowly, it has been paying off. I finally feel myself getting stronger, moving better, and feeling more like “me” on the wall again. It has been quite a journey so far, and we are incredibly fortunate that Taya is such a good sleeper and loves tagging along to the gym. Having that stability at home made this little trip feel possible in the first place.

We headed out on the adventure, and with the help of our best friend, @dhjones, the route was fully prepped, draws hung and holds brushed, so I could try to onsight it. Unfortunately, there was not really a place to warm up, so after warming up my fingers on a wooden edge, I had to just get on. It was chilly in the shade, and I immediately numbed out, which made climbing a touch spicier. Honestly, it might be one of the most beautiful lines I have ever climbed. The moves are so techy and fun. It took me about 45 minutes to finish it, and I am still amazed my endurance held on.

The biggest takeaway is that none of this happened alone. Achieving your goals with a baby in your arms is possible if you are lucky enough to have a supportive village. This was truly a group effort. I could not have done it without @hucklleberryfinn ‘s unwavering support at every step and the help of our closest friends. In many ways, it felt like our success, not just mine.

It’s exciting and beautiful to see what I am capable of as I start this new journey of being a mom. I am looking forward to training and seeing what I am capable of in the future.”

Is your waterproof ready for autumn? 🍂

Here’s how to check: run water over the fabric. If it beads and rolls off, you’re good. If it soaks in, that’s wetting out - a sign the water-repellent coating has worn down.

This video gives you a step-by-step guide on how to fix this.

Every journey in the mountains begins with someone driven by something deeper.

Episode 1 of Team Mountain People follows Rab athlete Anna DeMonte as she prepares for an ambitious FKT attempt while navigating work pressures, family expectations, and the deeper questions that shape who we are in the outdoors.

Anna's passion for mountain sports began in the most unlikely of places: the swimming pool. Many years of competitive training taught her the importance of precision and focus, but after 4 gruelling years of college swimming and Olympic trials, burnout hit. In trading the flat Midwest for the towering Rockies, Anna found freedom in climbing and skiing, and the rest is history.

Skied what could be a new line from the top of Store Jægervasstinden in Lyngen Alps yesterday.

Did three different lines in the area and randomly met some friends on the glacier. A good day out in the mountains 🏔️🌞

Winter climbing above the Arctic Circle begins long before the first move is made. For athlete Juho Knuuttila, the journey starts in freezing darkness—an environment where ideal conditions rarely exist and motivation is tested at every step. Yet for Juho, the drive is simple.

This episode of Team Mountain People follows Juho as he ventures into the heart of the polar night, where solitude, shifting weather, and the vastness of the Arctic landscape become both companion and adversary. His experience reveals that success in winter climbing goes far beyond technical skill. It’s about resilience, intuition, and the quiet, personal reasons that pull us into wild places.
