Somewhere in Sweden, between disconnecting from the digital and reconnecting with nature, a story about the art of doing absolutely nothing came to life together with ARKET.

Romanticising the Sunday morning coffee ritual with @aarke. Some things simply deserve to be taken slowly. Respectfully, I’ll be team coffee over matcha forever.

A couple of blissful days in the French countryside, gathering around long tables, wandering through forests, swimming, eating, talking and thinking about love. What holds us together? What does love look like when we make space for it? Where are we with it now - individually, collectively, romantically, platonically, somewhere in between?

Over a few days together with @clo___circle x @commongroundsretreats at @la_grange_rouge, we tried to find out. Through food and conversation, moments of solitude and togetherness, evenings stretching into candlelight and mornings beginning again around the table. Perhaps we left with more questions than answers. But maybe that was the point. 🌿 🕯️ 🍷

An honour, almost unreal, to portrait you, @marcisambe. Your joy, your vision, your endurance, and the way you stretch the limits of the body until they dissapear.

If I could have told a younger Simon that one day he’d stand in a principal dancer’s flat in London, camera in hand, he wouldn’t have believed it.

I remember walking up the stairs, classical music spilling through the corridor, growing louder with every step — like a pulse guiding me to the right place.

The way you move is not just choreography, it’s your own language. Your own way of dance 🤍

It took me a million bloody years to realise that somewhere between my affinity for cooking food and consuming it, I also somehow developed a third appetite: turning it into a freaking life before it disappears. 🍽️

Linger is an ode to the hour before the day begins, when light slips through the blinds and the bed holds you a little longer. Layered with new Ana bedlinen, Lewes Check, a cashmere throw and the Hungarian Goose Down Duvet from @thewhitecompany, it all feels almost impossibly soft. You know that feeling of sinking into a beautiful hotel bed? Somehow, I get to have it at home now. Self-shot at 6am on 120 film.

Read: Notes from Greece. Current thoughts: an organised mess, again. My question: does anyone ever really log off? Or do we just change scenery and call it healing?

We are all chasing some version of the ideal life now. Working remotely. Earning bigger fees. Moving through beautiful places with laptops, linen shirts and no fixed address. Selling freedom back to each other in the language of detachment.

But what happens to the human in all of this? Does the digital nomad ever really get to disappear? Or are we online for the rest of our lives, until someone, somewhere, finally calls it a day?

I have been asking myself this because the thought of taking a couple of days off as a freelancer in the digital world feels more terrifying than pushing through a working weekend, just to stay on top of my inbox.

I have been travelling alone a lot again recently, and somewhere between airport gates, hotel mirrors and hot stones under my feet, I think I started remembering myself and losing myself in the same breath.

Solitude has been strange bliss. A place to process loss, grief, the aftertaste of traumatic years, and the relentless performance of appearing fine, available, inspired, grateful, glowing.

Our current marketing language is obsessed with logging off. Escaping. Detaching. Returning to nature. Finding balance. Being present.

But even rest has become something to optimise. Even peace has become content. Even disappearing now needs a caption.

Perfection is beautiful when we are marketing it. Applied to a human life, it becomes a prison.

In other words: touch some grass. Eat some fat. Make the mistake. Stop counting the protein, the hours, the steps, the sleep. Stop counting, full stop.

Maybe the real romance is learning to take yourself seriously enough to stop performing peace, and finally feel the hot beach pebbles under your feet without turning it into evidence that you are doing life correctly.

Or are we just chasing, until the timeline doesn’t refresh anymore? Am I making the mistake right?

Spent one week in beautiful Puglia producing two shoots, one for @augustinusbader and one for @eadem.co , both with the unique @shini.park — who I actually worked for and assisted for many years, which made the whole thing feel even more special.

Two things I keep thinking about from that week.

Firstly, I still feel incredibly grateful that work takes me to places like this. I really try to suck it all in and document the surroundings as much as the actual job, because that is kind of what we are there for in the first place: to look, to notice, to make something from being there.

But I also realised again that even when I take little pictures on my iPhone, I cannot instantly look at them or share them. I need some space in between. Either I am there in the real world, or I am already turning it into something digital — and if I am doing the second one the entire time, what is the point of being there in real life?

So weeks later, I am only now properly processing the trip and all the impressions from it.

My brain is still slow. My mind is not an algorithm constantly refreshing itself, and honestly I want to lean into that more, especially visually. Let the eye process something. Let the mind sit with it. Let an image actually leave something behind before rushing to post it.

Maybe not everything needs to be shared while it is still happening.

Maybe some things need to become a memory first. Am I the only one who is still a freaking millennial about this?
