I’d fly back to LA just for this ✈️🍧

Summer is the perfect time for frozen treats, and this LA pop-up deserves a spot on your must-try list!

Yamanaka Kakigōri serves traditional Japanese shaved ice, known for its light, fluffy texture topped with housemade syrups, condensed milk, fresh fruit, mochi, and other delicious toppings. They even import ice from Japan, giving their kakigōri its signature melt-in-your-mouth texture. 🧊

Their menu rotates with the seasons and features Asian-inspired flavors, so there’s always something new to try. My brother has been a regular here for a while and insisted I check it out while I was visiting family. I’m so glad I did!! 🥰

We ordered the Lychee Jasmine Tea and Matcha Tiramisu, and I was honestly blown away by how soft and airy the shaved ice was. ☁️ The Lychee Jasmine Tea tasted just like a creamy jasmine milk tea, especially with the lychee jellies and mochi. 🥹 The Matcha Tiramisu was rich, earthy, and perfectly balanced with the crunchy crisps on top.

I’d fly back to LA in a heartbeat just to have another bowl of their kakigōri!! 😭🥹 If you’re in the greater LA area this summer, be sure to follow their page to stay updated on upcoming pop-up dates. You won’t want to miss it! 🍧✨

A recent eat I can’t stop thinking about 🍝💗

Gabbiano’s @gabbianospdx is a neighborhood Italian-American spot in NE Portland serving up comfort food, cocktails & retro vibes. The perfect combo for a night out! 💖 Their menu has staple favorites alongside rotating dishes inspired by seasonal flavors and ingredients. This was another spot that had been on my list forever after so many recs, and I finally got to try it with my favorite girlies 👯‍♀️

What we ordered:
✧ House White Wine
✧ Aperol Spritz
✧ Signature Cocktails
✧ Fried Mozzarella
✧ Stone Fruit Panzanella
✧ Dungeness Crab Alla Vodka
✧ Sweet Corn Ravioli

This spot is so well-known and hyped that I was a little skeptical about whether it would live up to expectations, but it definitely exceeded them 😭 Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and each dish stood out in its own way, which made picking favorites so hard. 🥺😥

If I had to choose one appetizer and one main, I’d come back for the Stone Fruit Panzanella & Dungeness Crab Alla Vodka in a heartbeat. 🥹🫶 The peaches and heirloom tomatoes paired SO perfectly together and made for the ultimate summer dish ☀️🍑🍅 The dungeness crab was sweet and shredded throughout the pasta, so you got a little in every bite with their yummy spicy vodka sauce 🤌

The vibes and food were both too good! 🙂‍↕️ I can totally see why everyone loves this spot and why there’s usually a wait!! Already wanting to come back to try more of the menu, and I definitely have my eye on the tiramisu next 🍽️🍰

Chasing our favorite shave ice in the greater Seattle area 🤭🍧

We first tried @mikesshaveice two years ago at the @slufarmersmarket, and we’ve been hooked ever since. 🤤 It’s become our favorite summer treat, and we’ll happily drive wherever they pop up! 🤣 This shave ice run was at the recent @bellevuefarmersmrkt which had a ton of other amazing local vendors!

One of the coolest things we learned a few pop-ups back is that some of the products they used are sourced from the area in Hawaii where my boyfriend grew up. ❤️

My go-to order is the Strawberry Mango Sago Shave Ice ($10 + tax), topped with coconut cream, sago, fresh mango, and mochi. 🍓🥭 The flavors are incredibly refreshing, perfectly balanced, and never overly sweet. I always add vanilla ice cream, which makes it even better 🤤

If you spot them around town, you need to stop by! 🫶Be sure to follow their page to see where they’ll be popping up next. 🚗💨

In case you’re wondering, Mako Matcha Mill @makomatchamill is worth the hype 🍵👀

This is Portland’s newest matcha cafe located in DT/Pearl District serving 12oz $4 matcha lattes & $3 matcha americanos! 🫶

I’ve been wanting to try, but there have been some crazy lines on the weekend! I went on a weekday afternoon; there was no line to pay and about a 20 min wait for the actual drink. 🍵 I heard that people waited 1.5 hours on the weekend, so going during the week is the move 😌

The drinks are hand whisked, which is always a plus. I believe they’re using matcha from Japan, but will eventually use matcha milled in store from a farm in Oregon!! 🥹 During my visit I got a 12oz jasmine matcha latte with jasmine cheese cold foam for $5.50. I prefer my matcha on the strong side & not too sweet, so their ratio was perfectttt. The matcha was strong, smooth and not bitter. 🤗 I loved the cheese foam but wish there was a little more 🥺

The staff & atmosphere was lovely as well. I saw people studying so I will definitely be back to try more drinks and hang out!! 🥰 Congrats to the owners on their successful soft opening!! 🥳

Mid-Autumn Moon Festival 🌙 with @whitelotusmarket @thewhitelotusfoundation !! 💖

This past weekend I finally got to visit the White Lotus Market at the Shun Fat Supermarket on 82nd!! 🤍 I was so glad my friends organized this and it was a nice way to get out and enjoy the October sunshine! ☀️

The White Lotus Market is a unique pop-up event that features Asian-owned businesses, entrepreneurs & creative marketers in Portland. 💖 This past summer, they hosted several markets, but the Mid-Autumn Festival is one of their largest!! 🏮

Getting to go with friends meant good food & even better company! 🥹

Here’s what we tried and my thoughts:
✨ Ngot PDX @ngotpdx - Perfect not too sweet cake bursting with flavor!! It was on my radar to try and I am so glad I did. We got their Guava Matcha Tiramisu (OUR FAV!!!), Ube Tiramisu, Pandan Coconut Tiramisu & Longan Oolong Jasmine Chiffon Cake
✨ Fire Foods @firefoodsmolalla - Their garlic parmesan fries were super crispy and had a nice garlic flavor.
✨ Tea Talk @teatalk_pdx - Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea & Jasmine Butterfly Pea Milk Tea. The jasmine oolong milk tea was so floral and perfectly creamy!! The boba was also cooked nicely. Will be going back! 🧋
✨ Thip Khao @thipkhaopdx - I think this might have been my first time trying Lao street food and 10/10!!! I loved their Papaya Salad, it was sooo spicy 🌶️

I am so excited to go to future White Lotus Market events! What a great way to support local vendors in the Portland area. ❤️

New Asian-inspired specialty coffee shop in LA (✿◠‿◠)

H&A Coffee @hacoffeematcha is Rosemead’s newest coffee shop, founded by Heshan & Alexander, who set out to bring flavors inspired by their backgrounds and travels into the 626 coffee and matcha scene. ☕️🍵💕

Their menu features LA’s first Tjendol Latte, made with pandan tjendol, espresso, and fiber cream milk. ✨ Tjendol is a popular Southeast Asian dessert that I grew up eating, made with chewy pandan rice flour jellies, so I was really excited to try their take on this dessert 🥹🫶

I tried their Tjendol Latte ($7), Duo Matcha ($7), and Pandan Matcha ($7), and I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite. The Tjendol Latte had a bold espresso flavor balanced perfectly with fragrant pandan and brown sugar notes, while the fiber cream milk made it extra rich and creamy. 💖 Both matcha drinks were smooth, creamy, and had a vibrant matcha flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. 🍵 Their house-made pandan syrup was definitely the star for me! 🌿

Every time I come back to LA, I’m excited to discover all the amazing new cafes opening around the area. H&A Coffee has officially earned a spot on my must-visit list whenever I’m home. 🥹💕

Trying out the famous @kensartisan pizzeria in Portland! 🍕💖

Coming to Portland, I never knew that they had such a big pizza scene here!! 😳 Ken’s Artisan Pizza has been open since 2006 and they’ve won numerous awards, including being crowded as one of the top pizza spots in the country!! 🏆 This spot is very well loved by my wonderful friend, so I am happy we got to celebrate her birthday here at one of her favorite spots 🥹

Ken’s serve fresh, wood-fired oven pizzas made with quality ingredients ✨ They often have a wait even on the weekdays, and it’s so busy that takeouts can only be placed in person.

We all got our own pizzas and one to share. Each pizza ranged from $21 to $26 and was personally enough for leftovers! ☺️ Here’s what we got:
🍕 Peach Pizza: corn crema, charred peaches, capicola, garlic fontal, ricotta, basil, Grana Padano
🍕 Mushroom Pizza w/Burrata: mushrooms, mozzarella, fontina, pecorino, garlic, thyme, lemon oil with add on burrata
🍕 Prosciutto Pizza: tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil, Greci & Folzani 24 month Black Label Prosciutto di Parma
🍕Soppresata: tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy Calabrese salami, basil

The dough/crust was INCREDIBLE! It was perfectly thick, crispy with a fluffy bread texture. 🤤 I got the Proscuitto and we shared the peach. The peach was by far my favorite!! 🍑 I’ve never had peaches on pizza but it was so fresh and paired perfect with the savory flavors of the other toppings. 😍 I can’t wait to come back again. Cheers to more pizza girl nights and continuing to explore the PDX food scene 🥹♥️ Happy Friday! 🥳

@grindwittryz has been on my list to try for a hot minute now, and it was sooo worth the wait ❤️‍🔥

GrindWitTryz is a well-loved local Portland spot serving up Hawaiian and Filipino comfort food 🌺🇵🇭 It’s been recommended to me so many times by some of my friends who grew up on the islands, so I’ve been super excited to finally give it a try! 🥹

We ordered:
♡ Ono Chicken Plate
♡ Kalua Pig + Coconut Shrimp Plate
♡ Meat Jun + Coconut Shrimp Plate
♡ Poke
♡ Teri Beef + Korean Fried Chicken Plate

Out of everything we tried, my favorites were definitely the ono chicken and teri beef!! 🫶 The ono chicken pieces were HUGE but still perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and so flavorful. The teri beef was sooo delicious too — thinly sliced with the perfect little crisp on the edges 🤤

I also really loved the mac salad that came with each plate! I’m normally not a huge mac salad person, but this one was yummyyyy.

Their patio was the perfect place to enjoy all this delicious food on a sunny Portland day ☀️💕 I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m craving Hawaiian food!

After 4 years of living in Seattle, I finally got to visit @thepinkdoorrestaurant and check it off my food bucket list 🥹💗 It’s one of Seattle’s most famous Italian restaurants, nestled in Post Alley at Pike Place. Before it became a restaurant, The Pink Door used to be a violin shop! 🎻

The Pink Door offers both reservations and walk-ins, but sometimes the waitlist will be closed during peak hours/demand. On the website, it says you can call the restaurant to inquire about wait times if you don’t have a reservation. 📞 In our experience, lunch time had a lot of open reservation spots, but dinner is booked out further in advance ☺️ We went in for lunch and enjoyed our experience! ❤️

During our visit, we started with the bruschetta and we were blown away by the freshness and sweetness of the heirloom tomatoes 😭🫶 For the main, we got their famous Lasagna - made with fresh spinach pasta layered with besciamella, pesto, topped with marinara sauce. We definitely think the lasagna lived up to the hype, the tomato sauce was so good. 💖

However, our favorite on dish was actually an item on the secret menu - squid ink pasta with a slightly spicy tomato sauce, topped with fresh seafood (mussels, squid, clams, shrimp). 🦐🍝 We’ve been on the hunt for a good squid ink seafood pasta ever since our Greece trip and this was it!! 😭😍 The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the seafood was fresh and not overcooked. The shrimp and mussels were so sweet!! 🙂‍↕️

We ended with the apple pie, which was also delicious and not too sweet! 🥧

Overall, my first time at The Pink Door was wonderful 🥹 and we will be going back for special occasions or a fancier date night. I thought that the prices were comparable to other nice Italian spots in Seattle/Bellevue, but much better quality and taste! 😅

At a Beli rating of 9.7/10, this might be my new favorite restaurant in Portland. 🙂‍↕️🫶

Lansdowne (@lansdownepdx) is a gem tucked away in NW Portland, featuring a rotating menu that highlights seasonal, locally sourced Pacific Northwest ingredients. I had this spot bookmarked after seeing their gorgeous patio on Instagram and hearing a few local creators rave about the food. ✨ My uncle was visiting from California, and it ended up being the perfect place to enjoy Portland’s summer weather over an incredible meal featuring local ingredients.

What we ordered:
♡ Pink Lady cocktail
♡ Glass of Columbia Valley, WA white wine
♡ Oysters
♡ Focaccia with whipped brown butter honey
♡ Cavatelli
♡ New York steak
♡ Chocolate cake

I love a good gin cocktail and the pink lady really hit the spot for me! It was perfectly balanced with the right amount of sweetness. 🍸

Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully executed, making it nearly impossible to choose a favorite. 🥹 That said…the focaccia completely stole the show for appetizers. The bread was unbelievably fluffy, and the whipped brown butter honey was absolute perfection. 🤤

The cavatelli pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and featured cucamelons, an ingredient we had never tried before, which made the dish even more fun and memorable. The aged New York steak was incredibly tender, and the bright chimichurri-style sauce paired so well with the sweet, juicy tomatoes. 💕

We ended off with the chocolate cake which was decadent, dense and not too sweet. 🍫

Every single dish impressed us, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. I can’t wait to see how the menu changes with the seasons, and I look forward to trying their tasting menu in the future 😄

Last week, Seattle made history! 🏆🥟🫶🥹 We are the official Guinness World Records holder of the World’s Largest Dim Sum Meal! 🌎

This day felt like a fever dream. Walking through the streets of CID and seeing so many people come together to celebrate made me so happy. ❤️ The CID is such a vibrant community, full of culture, history, and incredible small businesses. It was so special to see everyone show up, and celebrate the neighborhood together! 🥹

Not only did we beat Australia in the dim sum world record attempt, but June 18 is now officially recognized as Dim Sum Day in Seattle! 🥟🎉

After the dim sum attempt, wendy and i walked around and enjoyed all the vendors. We stopped by and visited @ohanhoi to get his fried banana cookie (a MUST) along with @thuc.cafe to get their jasmine milk tea with cream top 🤤 We even got to say hi to some of our favorite business owners from @ejaepakmor & @kotojellycoffee !!

What a wonderful day, until next year’s block party! 🫶

Thank you @jadegardensea for supplying all the meals! 💝

A small business worth trying, add Nam Tao Huu to your Portland dessert list! 💖

Nam Tao Huu is a Thai soy milk drink and dessert spot in NW Portland, inspired by the owner’s childhood memories of enjoying soy milk desserts at local markets in Thailand. 🇹🇭🥛 Everything is made fresh to order with their house-made soy milk, making it a great plant-based alternative!

We tried:
✧ Original Soy Milk
✧ Thai Tea with Soy Milk
✧ Butterfly Pea with Limeade
✧ Toasted Bread with Pandan Custard
✧ Chinese Donut with Condensed Milk
✧ Crispy Tofu with Sweet Chili Sauce
✧ Intanin Butterfly Pea
✧ Soft Pandan Coconut Rolls
✧ Matcha Red Bean Swiss Rolls

My favorite drinks were the original soy milk and Thai tea! The soy milk was surprisingly creamy and smooth with no gritty texture, and the Thai tea was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. 😮‍💨 The limeade was also super refreshing for summer!

For snacks, I loved the crispy tofu, Chinese donut, pandan coconut rolls, and Intanin Butterfly Pea dessert. ❤️ The Chinese donut with condensed milk reminded me of childhood, while the coconut rolls were chewy with a delicious pandan flavor. The Intanin was another favorite with its chewy texture and subtle jasmine floral notes! 💐

I’ve had this spot on my list for a while, and I’m so glad I finally stopped by. 🫶 The owner was also incredibly sweet and welcoming! Definitely check out Nam Tao Huu and support this lovely small business. 😊❤️

Happy hour with beautiful waterfront views at AQUA by El Guacho @aquabyelgaucho 🥂✨💕

AQUA by El Guacho features Seattle’s finest waterfront dining with views of Elliot Bay, the Olympic Mountains, Mt Rainier and the Space Needle. Their menu is inspired by the Puget Sound, featuring fresh daily selections of fish and 28-day dry-aged angus beef steaks. 🤤

We were invited to enjoy their menu and happy hour (Tues–Fri, 5–6:30pm) and had such a great experience. The views, food, and service were amazing!! 🥳

From the happy hour menu, the steak frites stood out (that parsley butter 😍), plus the $12 specialty cocktails (not featured in the video). From the main menu, the scallops were incredibly fresh, and the Alaskan king crab was sweet and perfectly pre-cracked for easy eating. 🦀 We were recommended the corn & brussels sprouts, which were also super flavorful. 😍

After dinner, we enjoyed views from their deck (which they will be turning into an outdoor dining space 👀) and walked nearby to Olympic Sculpture Park for sunset! 🥰

It was a wonderful date night and we look forward to returning for HH & special events in the future! 💖

Thank you so much to the AQUA by El Guacho team for having us! 💌 #hosted

Kicking off Portland patio season with @dirty.pretty.pdx 🍻✨💕

Dirty Pretty is the sister bar to @pinkrabbitbar and @foolsandhorses, located on Burnside. They serve a creative cocktail menu alongside Taco Bell-inspired bites. 🌮

The space is beautifully decorated, and the patio is spacious, vibrant, and perfect for soaking up Portland’s sunny days. ☀️ We stopped by for happy hour (Monday–Friday, 4–6 PM), where specialty cocktails and food items over $7 are $2 off. 🫶🥳

My favorite drink was the Rocket Science, which the bartender recommended! It has gin, lime, simple syrup, and Fee Foam, and it was so refreshing. 💖 As for the food, it was solid as snacks while drinking!

I spent around $30 with tip for 2 drinks & all of the shared food, which I feel like is a good deal!! 🥺

I’d definitely come back for the cocktails and to hang out on the patio again. 🥹🍸

Aroom Coffee is a Vietnamese coffee specialty cafe that started out with their first location in Fremont. ☕️ They’ve been our go-to spot for Vietnamese coffee, so we were very excited to have one closer to us! 💖

The interior was beautiful! This location is much bigger, with more seating. It’s the perfect cafe to catch up with friends or to get work/school done 🥹 We went at the end of my winter break to write out our 2026 goals and it was lovely 🫶

Our favorites are the black sesame coffee and salty coffee. 💕 Their foams are delicious and the Vietnamese coffee isn’t overly strong for my liking. 😊

In addition to yummy drinks, this location has food and I am excited to try it out in the future! 😋

They are also located right by the ferry terminal, so I am excited for sunny seattle days where I can grab my favorite drink and take the ferry 🫶
