🌴 Some of the best places in Charleston can’t be reached by car.

Cruise the Intracoastal Waterway to Capers Island, head out to Morris Island, relax on hidden sandbars, explore winding creeks, or take in incredible views of the Ravenel Bridge from the water. Boating opens up an entirely different side of the Lowcountry.

The best part? You don’t have to own a boat to enjoy it.

Freedom Boat Club makes getting on the water easy with a fleet of boats, convenient reservations, and locations throughout the Charleston area. No worrying about maintenance, storage, or trailering. Just reserve your boat, grab your crew, and spend more time exploring everything Charleston has to offer.

Every trip on the water is a chance to discover a new favorite spot and experience Charleston from a whole new perspective. 🌊⚓ #fbcpartner

🌅 21 years. One iconic Charleston landmark.

Today we’re celebrating 21 years of the Ravenel Bridge!

Since opening on July 16, 2005, it’s become more than just a way to get from one side of the Cooper River to the other. It’s the backdrop for sunrises, sunsets, Bridge Runs, family photos, boat rides, and countless Charleston memories.

Whether you drive across it, walk or bike the pedestrian path, relax beneath it at Waterfront Park, or cruise under it on the water, there’s no wrong way to experience one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Lowcountry.

Happy 21st Birthday to the Ravenel Bridge! 🌉🎉 Here’s to many more years of connecting Charleston and inspiring millions who cross it each year.

The fifth and final season of Outer Banks premieres August 20, and it’s pretty cool knowing that some of the final chapters were filmed right here in the Charleston area again. 🌊

Last year, Shem Creek was transformed into an Outer Banks set for a major storm scene. Film trucks, equipment, cranes, and a whole lot of activity took over the creek while the cast and crew brought the scene to life.

Now, one year later, we get to see how it all comes together.

Charleston has been a major filming location for Outer Banks since the first season, with Shem Creek serving as one of the show’s recognizable Lowcountry locations.

Season 5 premieres August 20 on Netflix. The final chapter of the Pogues starts now. 🌴

Before the Pogues return one last time, here’s your reminder that many of the show’s most recognizable scenes were filmed right here in Charleston.

From Shem Creek to the Lowcountry marshes, Charleston played a starring role long before the rest of the world knew about it.

What a month it’s been. ⚽🇺🇸

From the very first watch party at The Bus Shed to Credit One Stadium with more than 3,500 fans, this World Cup journey has been one I’ll never forget.

Getting to capture the excitement, the celebrations, and even seeing some of the footage make it onto national television was an experience I’ll always be grateful for. More than anything, it was incredible to watch the U.S. Men’s National Team bring people together. Thousands of people, one team, and an atmosphere that made every match feel special.

Thanks to everyone who came out, cheered, and made these watch parties unforgettable.

See y’all in 2030. 🇺🇸⚽

This small South Carolina town is worth the drive. 🌴🌊

Just 38 miles north of Charleston, McClellanville feels a world away from the city. This little fishing village is surrounded by marshes, live oaks draped in Spanish moss, shrimp boats and some seriously good Lowcountry seafood.

Make a stop for lunch at T.W. Graham & Co., explore the historic streets, then head down toward the docks at Jeremy Creek to see the shrimping boats and get a feel for what makes McClellanville so unique. 🦐

It’s the kind of Charleston-area day trip that reminds you how much there is to explore beyond the city.

No two tides. No two views. No two flights are ever the same. 🌿

Charleston’s salt marsh is constantly changing, shaped by the tides and winding through miles of Lowcountry waterways. From above, it’s easy to see why this landscape is one of South Carolina’s greatest natural treasures.

These aerial views capture the beauty of the Charleston marsh, tidal creeks, coastal wetlands, and the endless scenery that makes exploring the Lowcountry so special. Whether you’re on the water or in the air, there’s always something new waiting around the next bend.

What’s your favorite place to explore in the Charleston marsh? 🌊

The tides may change, but the beauty never does. 🌊

From Shem Creek to the ever-changing sandbars off Sullivan’s Island, to the headwaters of the Cooper River, every stretch of the Lowcountry has its own story. The channels shift, the sandbars move, and no two days on the water look exactly the same.

That’s one of my favorite things about Charleston. The landscape is always changing, but it’s always worth exploring.
