Chief Keef 🤝 Katy Perry

Back in 2013, an unexpected exchange between legendary Chicago drill rapper Chief Keef & the global pop star icon Katy Perry took place. After hearing Sosa’s “Hate Bein Sober” Perry took to Twitter explaining that she had “Serious doubt for the world.” Being 17 at the time, Chief Keef fired back quickly and the situation escalated into a full on viral beef.

Chief Keef & Lex Luger sampled Katy Perry’s “Legendary Lovers” on arguably one Sosa’s greatest hits, “Save Me.” Luger flipped the instrumental in a way that made Perry sound like she was saying “Sosa is Legendary.”

Over a decade later, the pair have seemingly put their differences aside. Sosa even gifted her a Glo-Gang hoodie. A true full circle moment in history. ☀️

Lil Uzi Vert’s Lifelong Love for Hayley Williams (Paramore) 𐦍🪐🧡

Lil Uzi Vert has often cited Hayley Williams and Paramore as key creative influences. Across numerous interviews, Uzi has expressed deep respect for Williams’ vocal style and the band’s emotional impact, elements that shaped Uzi’s own melodic approach and personal expression.

Uzi expressed interest in collaborating with Williams. She politely declined, explaining that she “didn’t want to get that famous,” a statement that reflected her careful relationship with mainstream visibility rather than a rejection of Uzi specifically.

Despite this, Uzi continued to publicly support Williams and Paramore, maintaining a consistent admiration that has remained visible throughout their career.

In 2023, Williams invited Uzi to perform with Paramore, marking a rare instance where long-expressed influence and respect were formally acknowledged on stage.

WEMBY: The Alien Who Saved Basketball 👽ྀི⛹️‍♂️

Victor Wembanyama’s story starts in a small town outside of Paris. Leaving home at just 14, Wemby committed to his development by moving into the Nanterre 92 basketball academy dormitories. Standing at 7-foot-4 with an 8-foot wingspan with Curry-like guard skills and the ability to defend anywhere on the court, he quickly became one the most exciting prospects in basketball history.

In 2023, the San Antonio Spurs selected him with the No. 1 pick, placing him in the same franchise lineage as David Robinson and Tim Duncan. The hype could have been impossible to match, but Wemby’s rookie season immediately backed it up. He became the unanimous NBA Rookie of the Year, proving that “The Alien” nickname wasn’t just a marketing gimmick.

Wemby led the Spurs to defeat OKC last night, in just his third year he is already heading to the NBA finals to face The New York Knicks. A finals matchup that hasn’t happened in 27 years.

How Brent Faiyaz Said F*ck The World & Built His Own

Brent Faiyaz reflects a shift in modern R&B toward artist-led independence, building a massive audience without traditional label rollouts. Born Christopher Brent Wood in Columbia, Maryland, he fell in love with music early, lived in his makeshift home studio, and hit the “do this or be normal” crossroads fast. At 18, he moved out after his family got tired of late-night recording noise.

To make ends meet, he’s said he worked a regular job at Dunkin’ Donuts and joked in interviews about taking any chance to play his music in the store, because you never know who the co-worker on aux might become.

By 2015 he moved to Los Angeles, and quickly and quietly began taking over. He released early music independently, then got a huge boost from his feature on the 2016 smash hit “Crew,” putting his voice in front of the mainstream without changing the mission. That momentum helped turn the cult following he’d built into something rare, with songs from his debut album ‘Sonder Son’ going Platinum without ever hitting the Billboard 200.

In 2023, Brent launched his own label, ISO Supremacy, to develop artists he believes in while keeping full creative control of his own work. His highly anticipated album ‘Icon’ is set to release February 13th.

The Overlooked Artist Behind Euphoria’s Visual World

Petra Collins is a multifaceted artist and director prominent since the early 2010s, known for her feminine, ethereal photography often employing a female gaze perspective. She has worked with artists such as Tyler, The Creator, Frank Ocean, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Yachty, & more.

In 2018, Euphoria creator Sam Levinson told Collins’ agency he wrote a show “based on her photos” and wanted her to direct. Petra moved to LA to develop Season 1’s world but was ultimately dismissed by the network for being “too young.”

A year later, Collins saw the aesthetic she had cultivated for years mirrored on Euphoria’s first promotional billboard. The experience was deeply emotional, especially when people said the show resembled her body of work.

In 2022, Collins received a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video (“good 4 u”). She won the 2024 Kodak Film Award for Music Film Director for Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire.”

The Underground King Who Turned Pain into Power: The Lucki Story 🪐🤓⊹

Lucki is one of the rare underground artists whose influence grew entirely on his own terms. Born Lucki Camel Jr. on May 30, 1996, he came out of Chicago under the name Lucki Eck$, standing apart from the city’s dominant drill movement with a sound that felt colder, slower, and more personal. At 17, he released Alternative Trap in 2013, introducing a hazy production style and writing that made struggle feel painfully poetic.

Lucki built a world around isolation, addiction, failing relationships, paranoia, and self-awareness. Over time, that honesty created a cult-like following that felt like the soundtrack for the rejects. For many, it felt like Lucki was speaking through them not just for them. Truly one of a kind.

Lucki’s rise was never immediate. For years, he moved through the highs and lows in real time, which only made his story feel more human. His world started reaching a wider audience with Freewave 3 and Days B4 III in 2019, as songs like “More Than Ever,” “4 The Betta,” and “New Drank” pushed his drowsy, emotional sound beyond a niche.

By the 2020s, Lucki had gone from underground favorite to one of rap’s most quietly influential figures. Flawless Like Me, S*x M*ney Dr*gs, and Gemini! would all chart on the Billboard top 20 proving that his world could scale without losing its identity. The artist who once sounded like an underground outcast was charting and making songs with his superheroes like Future.

Lucki is set to drop his highly anticipated album Dr*gs R Bad on Friday, May 15th.

Lucki will also be performing at The 2026 Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash for the sixth time. Hometown Hero. 🪐
