It all started with a game of catch. Story time: Every. Single. Time. I asked my dad to play catch or help me train for baseball since I was 6 years old, he never hesitated to be there. From being my first catch play partner to watching me live out my dream over the years of playing professional baseball, I truly don’t know how my career/life through baseball would be without him. There could be a million people who say no, don’t take the time, turn you down, but that one “yes” is all that matters in the end. This journey comes with a process, this was my process. Trust me if you knew me, you would know I am never one to wear makeup and glitter on a ball field. I’m as tomboy as it gets. However, I have never expressed that “feminine” side within myself because I’ve just never felt comfortable doing it. Growing up, I also could never get past the stereotype that women in male dominated sports/environments have to express themselves as more “masculine” in order to be seen as capable to compete. However, we’re breaking that mold now. Go try new things. Step out of your comfort. Be who you wanna be both on and off the field.
