Took one for the team 😔 …it is now APRIL & I’m still dealing with the repercussions of Trinidad Carnival in FEBRUARY. No matter which Carnival you’re going to, these are lessons I definitely learned. 😒Mistake 1 I believe because it was so extremely HOT on Carnival Monday, the combo of that, the texture of the glitter, and my legs rubbing together, it caused friction and irritated my skin which causes hyperpigmentation! Luckily for Carnival Tuesday, I had stockings without glitter, but I did have to use skin-tone bandages (thankfully I had them) to cover the area so it wouldn’t get worse. 😒Mistake 2 I don’t play when it comes to sunscreen. I finished some of my SPFs while I was in Trinidad because I applied every time I went out. However… your lips are part of your face too. You want to make sure you’re wearing SPF on your lips — not just for Carnival but in everyday life. If you want the ones I use, comment SPF & I’ll send the list 😒Mistake 3 Of course you wanna tie your costume to be secure and also make it look nice nice nice … BUT I definitely tied some of mine too tight. Why Lawd!? 🫩 So now I’m dealing with the remnants — scrapes and dark marks from pulling everything too tight. Next time - balance. In addition to my post-Carnival care using @rosemdskin & everything I’m doing now, we’re getting better… but next year? I’m not playing any of these games!! What’s the difference between setting spray & fixing spray? 👀 I use setting spray between steps to melt powders into the skin and take away that dry, makeupy look. Fixing spray is always last -it’s what helps everything stay put, especially for long days, heat, or events.
