today we’re putting out Beto’s Horns wit two of the most gifted musicians ive had the blessing to work wit this year, @ca7rielypacoamoroso

we (/i) shot this video at the end of their show in paris that i got to go watch, and at the end they climbed into the crowd and played this.

now BELIEEEEVE me when i tell u it was a MISSIOn trying to cling on to the camera throughout this and not hit the deck. toward the 2nd half i got totally sucked into the crowd and lost them entirely and then suddenly out of nowhere i just see above me, well actually you’ll see

its been so cool to get to work wit ppl who can write and sing and produce and stuff, but can also pick up an instrument and go absolutely crazy as well.

full length on youtube now

these are some vids from a party we did backstage after the show in rome a couple of weeks ago. we invited some of the crowd who were there and had a properrr old time of it

a lot of the people in this are part of an incredible community of ppl who have been coming to our shows since the beginning. a lot of the gang didn’t used to know eachother but now they go on holiday together and stuff and thats jus nice.

half way thru the night someone told me it was makas birthday. so the evening found a whole new sense of purpose! Maka is one of the absolute OG’s of that squad and we see him all round the world. hes been thru an awful lot and im honoured that my songs sometimes get to play in the background of that, so it was beautiful to have makas birthday in the green room in Rome ❤️

just put it live on YouTube 👐

I always hate the moment after shows where the lights go up and the music stops and the magic like evaporates more quickly than my emotions have time to realign or to process. It doesn’t serve the feeling. especially cus these shows are like 6/7 hours I always feel like we need a moment to come back down.

so after these usb shows we’ve been leaving the whole production floating on for 30 minutes and playing secret life out the speakers so people can just take a minute and sit down or pause or whatever they need.

Last night I got to play with Thomas Bangalter, Erol Alkan, Busy P at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the last night before it closes for 5 years.

Thomas told me in this lift on the way down to the show that the first time he fell in love with electronic music was in this building in 1992. He also told me hasn’t played a proper set without the mask on for 24 years. I didn’t know what to say to either of those things and I still don’t.

All I said to him at the end is that I hope it isn’t 24 years til the next.

Thank you to the infinity legends Erol and Pedro for making me feel so at home. @erolalkan @edbanger @thomasbangalter

This is @ianhotko he’s 16, and on Friday when feisty came out we invited him over from slovenia to the show.

Eveeerryone I know basically sent me this video of him dancing to rumble in the last month. And if you haven’t seen it it’s inSANE. He turns off gravity at one point just for a sec.

So we asked him if he wanted to shoot a video for this record in Vancouver.

When I asked him if he wanted to listen to the song in advance.. he said no (!!!). he said it’s best when he just freeestyles. that blew my mind, I’d always thought these things were like meticulously choreographed!

this is the ezra collective remix of betos horns with Paco & Ca7riel, the ezra guys are absolute dons and one of my favourite things ive done in music is lose a mercury prize to them. theyre glastonbury set sowed the seeds for an entire new generation of musicians it felt like. the ripples of what theyve done and will continue to do will be felt for a very very long time.

femi and joe and i were actually all at the same music college but we didnt meet then weirdly! maybe because i only lasted a year there, but i do remember very clearly watching joe playing keys at a lunch time recital and he went into a solo while i was sat on my own having a BLT sandwich and it was totally unholy what he did to the keys for 1pm on a tuesday afternoon.

we had one take to record this all together and i love the moment we captured

This was absolutely mad. Went to play a few new ones wit skep and got a UK legends cypher. And I didn’t have a clue any of this was gonna happen until I turned around 5 minutes into the set and saw all these legends behind me… like I’d said d double let’s do victory lap at the end but that was it!

Thank you so much to the UK all star lineup for making dreams I could never have even thought to have come true!

that CANNOT be the last time we do that
Cos that shit was toooo fun

this weekend we got to play with the absolute pillars of UK music.

it was the merging of so many of the most important parts of UK music it was just an honour to get to stand there and witness it and be one part of it.

after soundcheck tony came up to me and was like
“well that was my favourite soundcheck ever, JME and d double walked off and underworld and mike skinner walked on WHAT EVEN IS THAT”
and yeah i was so busy and stressed about tryna make it all work and fixing mixes i didnt totally clock how mental the SOUNDCHECK was!!! let alone the show….

i said on the night and i will sayyyy it again, that that room, and the way it felt, was standing on the shoulders of the things built by underworld, the streets, jme and so on

thank u infinity to:
underworld, mike skinner, romy, jme, d double e, berwyn, femi, ezra collective, ca7riel & paco, headie one, jamie t, blanco, joy anonymous, mph, nia archives, hamdi, oppidan ❤️

After a show i never quite know what to do. like you go from being filled with the most adreneline ever, to suddenly being like alone or basically alone. Often I just play songs im working on and jam on my keyboard to try ideas out to try n calm down and stuff, cos i cant really be social often.

So when i saw fede commenting on a post that he had a rooftop that overlooked the show i thought wow this could be like my dream afters. Just going straight up there and get to play songs on my ones and still get to see and feel the energy of the show as everyone leaves!

It got even madder when we realised it was literally a 3 min run from show to roof. So if we left the moment I got off the stage, everyone would still be in the square below!

I played this whole set just to fede and the beautiful nonna who also lives in this building. It was a lovely sight to look up occasionally and see them both there. Him dancing her sitting. Me a bit of both.
