Country of origin and production style will tell you far more about what the rum inside the bottle tastes like. You get that signature funk that Jamaican rum is known for, and some lovely warm notes from the barrel @rhumjmusa Terroir Volcanique is an aged rhum agricole from Martinique. Harvesting agave is a lot of hard work! The Jimadors are some of the hardest working men in tequila. They get up before dawn to harvest before the day gets too hot. The agaves themselves have leaves (pencas) with very sharp tips and serrated edges and can weigh a tremendous amount. Their tool, the coa is also razor sharp, and must be handled with care and accuracy. It’s important to appreciate all the hard work that goes into making tequila before it ever reaches your glass. I live at sea level and we were over 6000 feet, so I was a touch out of breath lol. I wanted to give it a try just to show how hard this work is. Thank you @sipdonfulano for showing me around Mexico and every step of the tequila making process. #agave #tequila #jimador

Raspados has a more coarsely textured ice that’s really fun to crunch on, and the syrup toppings are really thick and sometimes have pieces of fruit in them. I was just in Mexico with @volcantequila learning all about their tequila and we stayed in the family home, Hacienda La Gavilana. We were welcomed with these delightful frozen treats, which of course had a splash of tequila in them.
