Closing out 2025 with a few of my favorite arrangements from this year!

Which one is your favorite? It was kind of impossible for me to choose just one.

I also want to give a big thank you to all of you on here who have continued to support me and my flowers over the past year.

I started this account as a fun creative outlet to post my little flower arrangements on the internet. I never expected that Cowboy Petals would have grown to where it’s at now or reach so many people.

Thank you for being apart of the journey 🫶🏼I can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2026 🥂

Big shoutout to @chasingstone for the stunning backdrops.

Diwali inspired arrangement to celebrate the release of @rachelgurjar debut cookbook “East to East: Recipes and Stories from Mumbai to New York”.

All of the recipes look so insanely good I genuinely can’t decide which one to cook first. Congratulations on the release! 🍴

Excited to finally share a fun project I’ve been working on over the past few weeks with @disney. Recreating La Casita Madrigal from the movie Encanto entirely out of flowers has been such a special experience from start to finish. I can’t help but love how this one came out.

Encanto is one of my favorite Disney movies, so getting the opportunity to bring this world to life was pure magic. I tried my best to capture the same colorful and whimsical energy of the movie itself.

The house is made entirely out of carnations, hydrangea, dianthus, wax flower, moss, orchids and more.

Huge thank you to @disney for trusting my vision for this project!

If you want to see the full process of how I created La Casa Madrigal out of flowers, head to Disney’s official YouTube page to watch the full video. You don’t want to miss it!

Daydreaming in the studio…

Had a second to play around with some leftover product and wanted to make something I’ve never done before. Ended up creating this dreamscape of moss mounds and hydrangea clouds.

Could just lay here forever.

A bit of floral magic. A study in color, texture, and detail, @cowboypetals brings the new Edith rug to life, turning a hand-painted pattern into something you can reach out and touch. #riflepapercoxloloi @riflepaperco @loloirugs

The art of floral design…

As I get closer to a year of doing floral design full time, I’ve been thinking a lot about what kind of work feels most honest to me.

I’m drawn to creating arrangements that feel almost painterly. I love an arrangement that feels romantic and lush and pulls from the different colors and gesture of each flower to create an arrangement that feels cohesive and dramatic. An arrangement with layers and depth.

AI can’t copy that.

This is our vision of Savannah, Georgia. The first in a new series we’re calling Love Letters, where we transform our travels into botanical art.

Made from foraged palmetto fronds, wild grasses, and Spanish moss, this piece is inspired by Savannah’s haunting beauty, its history and its nature.

We wanted it to feel like it was lifted from an old Southern cemetery, softened by a layer of heavy mist.

A few stills and bts clips captured from this installation before I had to sadly take it down 🥲

Wish I could just stay in this whimsical botanical world forever, all that’s missing is a good book, chip 🐶, and @rosandichstudios

A question as old as time: to play or not to play with your food…

I love any excuse to get to experiment in the studio, especially with ingredients I don’t usually get to work with. Flowers will always be my favorite, but bringing in fruit and vegetables always pushes me to think creatively.

Having my @mill means I don’t really have to think twice about the cleanup. No smells, fewer trash runs, and all the leftover flowers and produce becomes something useful instead of ending up in the landfill.

A hard truth about the floral industry:

As beautiful as flowers are to design with and experience, the floral industry is an incredibly wasteful one. With every job or installation, we as florists go through thousands of stems, foliage, fruits, and vegetables only for it to inevitably end up in a nearby landfill.

Recently I’ve been trying to be more mindful of that waste in my own work here in the studio and at home. @mill was kind enough to send me their Food Recycler which has become a subtle but meaningful shift in my work routine and the way I think about “waste”. The same product I use everyday in my arrangements can now be broken down and converted into organic material that has much more potential.

Instead of going in the trash, the composted material can be reused to nourish my plants at home or saved for the garden to support new growth and continue the cycle in a much more intentional way.

This process has been a great way for me to honor the materials I work with and do my part to limit the amount of waste here in my own studio.

A study in color theory: yellow and purple edition. Two very different colors that help to complement one another.

I always try to allow the different complementary tones within each flower to guide the overall composition of the arrangement.

I find that this is the best way for me to create movement and depth that feels both intentional and eye-catching.

My goal for every arrangement is to create something that makes you want to stop and admire all of its different elements.

Did I succeed? Let me know what you think ⬇️

This is our vision of the Scottish Highlands for our series Love Letters, where we turn our travels into botanical art. The Highlands are known for their rugged mountains and moss-covered valleys, where ocean and land collide. Often shrouded in fog, it’s mysterious and enchanting. It’s the kind of place that really sticks with you—sinking into your soul and staying long after you’ve left.
lichen-covered branches, moss, muscari, and a touch of white heather come together to capture our memory of this beautiful country and its incredible people.

PSA: Don’t Throw Away Your Dead Flowers!

After a week of events, I usually find myself having to get rid of all of the left over product that has died or is on the way out.

This time however, I was inspired by the colors of the fading flowers to create an arrangement that shows off just how beautiful they can be even after they’re no longer at their prime. This arrangement uses old hydrangea, roses, mums, lilies, dahlias, amaranth, and more to create a new composition.

So the next time you’re thinking of tossing out your old flowers, give them a new life and make an arrangement with them instead 🥀
