In a loaded field, the BYU freshman finishes 34th ahead of a number of runners ranked inside the top 50 of the FloTrack College XC Rankings presented by @Hoka. Kitchen was BYU's third runner and fourth freshman in the field behind Kelvin Cheruiyot (Florida), Meshack Kimutai (Iowa State) and Brian Kimutai (Eastern Kentucky).
