Quebec just dropped a tourism ad aimed at Americans, and it’s making people cry.

TikTok is full of comments like “I thought we were gonna get made fun of…I’m crying instead” and “As an American…I need that hug.”

Maybe things would be a little better if we all had a hug from Canada. 🇨🇦😭

When no one showed up to Jonathan Stanley’s book signing, a 4-year-old girl and her mom stopped to say hi. Then everything changed. 💛

Taylor Dinelli posted a short video to TikTok after seeing Stanley sitting alone at his table in Barnes & Noble. Her daughter Ella told him she wanted to be an author one day—and he signed a copy just for her, with the kindest message:
“The biggest gift you can give someone is being yourself.”

Taylor posted the moment to TikTok... and over 70 million people showed up. 📚✨

Now, Stanley’s self-published book Purposeful Performance is a #1 Amazon bestseller, and he’s gained hundreds of thousands of followers, messages, and readers from around the world.

“I never imagined that the day I felt the most unseen would be the day millions paid attention,” he wrote.

The future of medicine just got a surprising new address: Bentonville, Arkansas.

Alice Walton, Walmart heiress and the world’s richest woman, just opened a medical school with a mission: prevent disease before it starts.

The Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (aka AWSOM) is flipping traditional med school on its head:
🥦 50+ hours of nutrition and culinary classes
🎨 Courses on empathy, observation, and even sketching at an art museum
🧠 Focus on mental health, behavior, and community wellness
🌱 Teaching gardens and a rooftop park
💰 Full tuition covered for the first 5 graduating classes

This isn’t just about Arkansas, it’s about creating a model that any school could follow. One where doctors treat people, not just symptoms.

Would you want your doctor trained like this?

APRIL FOOLS. Texas is reportedly planning to test America’s first “autobahn-style” highway—where there’s no official speed limit.

The pilot stretch will span a 25-mile section between Austin and San Antonio, designed for high-performance vehicles and “drivers who think cruise control is for cowards.”

“We’re trusting Texans to use good judgment… and great tires,” said one transportation official.

The road will include extra-wide lanes, advanced camera systems, and warning signs for slower drivers.

If successful, officials say similar zones could roll out in other states as early as 2026.

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney — the mind behind Fortnite — has quietly bought at least 56,000 acres across North Carolina over the last decade. But he’s not developing resorts or luxury homes.

He’s working to conserve critical forests, mountains, rivers, and coastal ecosystems before they’re lost to sprawl.

Sweeney has already donated thousands of acres to conservation groups and is helping stitch together massive “conservation corridors” across the state, giving wildlife and rare plants the freedom to migrate in a warming world.

From the Roan Highlands to the Atlantic coast, his real-life preservation efforts could define North Carolina’s wild future.

Sisters > brothers when it comes to being mean.

A sweeping study of 4,000+ people across 24 countries, led by researchers at Arizona State University, found women are just as likely, and often more likely, to yell, hit, or gossip about siblings compared to men.

The usual “guys are more aggressive” pattern disappears inside families, with sisters competing just as fiercely (and sometimes harder) for attention and resources.

So… were you the aggressive sibling, or the one surviving it?

Sisters are more than built-in besties, they’re mental health boosters, social skill coaches, and secret therapists.

A 2010 study from BYU followed 395 families and found that having a sister (older or younger) helped shield teens from loneliness, guilt, and self-doubt and that effect stuck even after factoring in parenting.

Men with sisters? More empathetic, less judgmental, and better at conflict resolution.
Women with sisters? More independent, ambitious, and emotionally resilient.

And if you’ve got any sibling at all? Turns out they’re better for your moral compass than your parents.

Basically: science just confirmed what anyone with a sister already knew.

“I just want to serve God and others every day in every way I can,” she told Glamour, after being named one of their 2025 Women of the Year.

Some New York (and motherhood) stories never leave you.

In 1996, a stray cat later named Scarlett was living with her kittens inside an abandoned garage in Brooklyn when a fire broke out. As firefighters arrived and flames spread, Scarlett ran back into the burning building again and again, carrying each kitten out one by one.

By the time she was done, her eyes were burned shut, her ears and paws badly injured, and most of her fur singed away. Witnesses said she touched each kitten with her nose to make sure they were safe before collapsing unconscious.

Scarlett and her kittens were rushed to North Shore Animal League, where they were treated and eventually adopted. Her story spread around the world, inspiring thousands of letters and leading to the creation of the Scarlett Award for Animal Heroism.

Scarlett spent the rest of her life in Brooklyn and passed away in 2008, but her story is still one of the bravest New York has ever told.

Happy Mother’s Day 🙌 Even if you’re stressed, overwhelmed, or about to lose it. Science says: call your mom.

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison had young girls complete a stressful task, then either speak to their moms, text them, or have no contact.

Only the ones who heard their mom’s voice—by phone or in person—saw a drop in cortisol (stress hormone) and a rise in oxytocin (the bonding hormone).

Texting didn’t help at all. So yeah, your mom might be better than therapy.

A major parenting milestone just happened in the U.S.: for the first time ever, more babies were born to women over 40 than to teenagers, according to new CDC data.

Teen births have dropped 73% since 1990, while births among women 40+ have nearly tripled — rising 193%.

In 2023:
👩‍🦳 Women 40+ made up 4.1% of all births
👩‍🎓 Teens made up 4.0%

Experts say it’s a reflection of shifting priorities — more women are waiting to start families due to careers, finances, and personal readiness. At the same time, fertility treatments and prenatal care continue to improve, giving more people the option to become parents later in life.

What are your thoughts on delayed motherhood? 💫

Colbert just used his CBS cancellation as rocket fuel.

The Late Show’s days may be numbered, but Colbert’s not going quietly.

On Monday night, he torched Donald Trump for celebrating the show’s end, unleashing an “Eloquence Cam” moment that had the entire Ed Sullivan Theater chanting his name.

“They canceled the show… but they made one mistake: they left me alive.”

CBS says the decision was financial, despite The Late Show still holding the top spot in ratings.

Colbert thinks something smells off, especially since CBS’s parent company just cut a $16 million check to Trump to settle a lawsuit.

And yeah, the man’s now roasting from the rafters.

Japan is making a bold move: starting this week, the country is officially testing a four-day workweek — with the goal of helping parents, especially women, balance work and family life.

📉 Births in Japan hit a record low last year, and the population is rapidly shrinking. For every new baby born, more than two people died.
👩‍👧‍👦 To fight this, new legislation will require flexible hours and remote work options for parents of young children.
🏙️ Tokyo is already leading the charge — and companies are being encouraged to follow.

It’s part of a bigger plan to address Japan’s demographic crisis, while finally acknowledging that overwork isn’t sustainable.

“Women shouldn’t have to sacrifice their careers for childbirth or parenting,” said Tokyo’s Governor Yuriko Koike.
