APRIL FOOLS. Texas is reportedly planning to test America’s first “autobahn-style” highway—where there’s no official speed limit.
The pilot stretch will span a 25-mile section between Austin and San Antonio, designed for high-performance vehicles and “drivers who think cruise control is for cowards.”
“We’re trusting Texans to use good judgment… and great tires,” said one transportation official.
The road will include extra-wide lanes, advanced camera systems, and warning signs for slower drivers.

Sisters are more than built-in besties, they’re mental health boosters, social skill coaches, and secret therapists.
A 2010 study from BYU followed 395 families and found that having a sister (older or younger) helped shield teens from loneliness, guilt, and self-doubt and that effect stuck even after factoring in parenting.
Men with sisters? More empathetic, less judgmental, and better at conflict resolution.

Some New York (and motherhood) stories never leave you.
In 1996, a stray cat later named Scarlett was living with her kittens inside an abandoned garage in Brooklyn when a fire broke out. As firefighters arrived and flames spread, Scarlett ran back into the burning building again and again, carrying each kitten out one by one.
By the time she was done, her eyes were burned shut, her ears and paws badly injured, and most of her fur singed away. Witnesses said she touched each kitten with her nose to make sure they were safe before collapsing unconscious.
Scarlett and her kittens were rushed to North Shore Animal League, where they were treated and eventually adopted. Her story spread around the world, inspiring thousands of letters and leading to the creation of the Scarlett Award for Animal Heroism.
Scarlett spent the rest of her life in Brooklyn and passed away in 2008, but her story is still one of the bravest New York has ever told.

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison had young girls complete a stressful task, then either speak to their moms, text them, or have no contact.
Only the ones who heard their mom’s voice—by phone or in person—saw a drop in cortisol (stress hormone) and a rise in oxytocin (the bonding hormone).
Texting didn’t help at all. So yeah, your mom might be better than therapy.

Teen births have dropped 73% since 1990, while births among women 40+ have nearly tripled — rising 193%.

Meet Scout, 6 pounds of fluff and pure chaos.

Japan is making a bold move: starting this week, the country is officially testing a four-day workweek — with the goal of helping parents, especially women, balance work and family life.
📉 Births in Japan hit a record low last year, and the population is rapidly shrinking. For every new baby born, more than two people died.
👩👧👦 To fight this, new legislation will require flexible hours and remote work options for parents of young children.
🏙️ Tokyo is already leading the charge — and companies are being encouraged to follow.
It’s part of a bigger plan to address Japan’s demographic crisis, while finally acknowledging that overwork isn’t sustainable.
