@01CuriousGeorge We stand by the statement we shared on the original poster’s TikTok. We truly care about providing excellent service for millions of guests every day, and when we miss the mark it’s important to us that we listen, learn from it, and try to make it right.
We have a Tim Hortons franchisee in Grimsby, Ontario, who is planning to retire from the business and would like to sell his restaurant to another local franchisee. Following discussions between the two franchisees, existing team members were told that their employment would end with the sale of the restaurant. We believe this was a bad outcome. The selling franchisee has apologized to his team and provided letters today that reconfirm their continued employment. Assuming the sale goes through, the buying franchisee has committed that he will maintain the employment of all the existing team members.
Hi Scott, we think one of the biggest misperceptions about Tim Hortons is how the TFW program has been used. About 3.6% of team members were hired through the TFW program. These are positions in communities where restaurant owners faced documented labour shortages and went through the full government approval process before hiring. This new campaign will help Canadian restaurant owners hire 10,000 new local team members, supporting natural turnover and growth of Tim Hortons restaurants – including 80 new restaurants opening this year across Canada.

@yegwave We care about the experience of guests and team members and are reviewing what happened with the restaurant owner. We’re committed to making Tims a welcoming place for both guests and team members.

@NoBeehaviour We're glad you enjoy our Iced Capps, if there's any feedback you have to share feel free to DM us!
Hi Frank, we’re open to criticisms and we accept them – but we also want everyone to be honest about the facts. Team members at the Grimsby restaurant did not lose their jobs and were not replaced with temporary foreign workers. The local MP was not involved. If you have any evidence of team members being abused we would want to be made aware of it as we would not tolerate it. Tims restaurant owners are working hard every day alongside their teams to serve guests and it’s important that what’s shared about them online should be true.

@SitaramDhakal6 Hi Sitaram. Please send us a DM with your email address.
We were so excited to bring back our Cheese Melts and Bacon Melts last week based on enthusiastic feedback from Tims guests. We have sold over 400,000 Melts since we launched just a few days ago and the very large majority were prepared and served according to our standards. What makes a Melt great is the grilled bread and melted cheese - we accept the feedback that we haven’t gotten it 100% right, so are working with Tims restaurant owners who are doubling down on training to ensure guests are served a great Melt every time – whether in our drive-thru or at the restaurant counter. We encourage guests to contact our Guest Services team if they have feedback to share.
