Man, this is embarrassing. Have attended two Ryder Cups in Europe. Sure, they boo the US and cheer for bad shots, but it is *absolutely nothing* like the abuse the European players experienced at Bethpage. Absolutely NOTHING like it. For the president of the organization to dismiss that is humiliating.
You just don't do that!
Holy shit holy shit holy shit
We’re thankful for KVV’s time at NLU and proud of the work we did together. Wishing him all the best on what’s ahead, and hope to collaborate again in the future.
Just walked a few holes on the front nine and... I'm getting a bit giddy! 1. Approach shots, and even pitch shots, are definitely making the "thud" sound on the greens. Even some greenside pitches are bouncing to about knee height. Very difficult to stop the ball around the greens from the rough, but quite doable from the short grass. Bad shots will be punished appropriately. 2. The rough is thick, and multiple players commented that it was as thick as they've seen it here. I watched a player struggle to find a ball just left of the 4th fairway, and then proceeded to not even come close to clearing the water with his 2nd. And his playing partner had no sweat at all from the middle of the fairway. Accuracy off the tee should be significant, assuming this continues. Now fingers crossed that the rain misses on Thursday because this place is ready to rock in a way we are not used to seeing in March.
If this ends tied Europe does not get to retain. You do not get to retain using the envelope. Just can’t let that happen.
Golf’s worst kept secret is out thanks to the difficult and extensive reporting from @JoelMBeall and the @GolfDigest team.
Really hoping the rumors of Griffin being left off are not true. Griffin and Young have been the 3rd and 4th best Americans over the last three months. 50 round strokes gained moving averages: Griffin: +1.89 Young: +1.84 Burns: +1.45 Keegan: +1.34 At this point, I'd rather they leave off Morikawa if Keegan is gonna insist on picking himself.
It’s now official. There are now no LIV events on the schedule between June 7 and July 23.
Keegan has to start strong with his lineup tomorrow. If I were him, I'd send the alt shot pairing of English & Morikawa out first and send a message.
Strokes gained over the last 6 months: 1. Scheffler +3.16 2. (????) +2.70 3. Xander +2.09 4. Rahm +2.06 5. Tommy +2.00 6. Rory +1.91 Without looking at the replies, who's been the second best player in the world over the last 6 months?
It feels silly to take these statements even remotely seriously, but if we were: LIV burned through $5B and lost their future funding. PGA Tour: -Hasn’t touched their $1.5B investment -Has another $1.5B to draw from -Has 46 of the top 50 players -TV ratings ⬆️ But, the media.
