The science of getting your day right:

1. Analytic work in your peak (morning, for most)
2. Admin in your trough (early-mid afternoon)
3. Creative work in your rebound (late afternoon)
4. No big decisions at 3pm
5. A real break every 60-90 minutes
6. If you're fading: a nappuccino

Here's the science behind each one: 🧵

I really enjoyed this interview. Very fewer interviewers know as much, or care so deeply, about writing!

We all work mightily to look competent on paper… …but we still can struggle with basic life skills. Like apologizing without making it worse. Or remembering a name 60 seconds after hearing it. We obsess over credentials. We neglect competence. Here's the list of “how tos” I wish someone gave me earlier. 🧵👇

The biggest daily motivator at work is not cash. It is not praise. It is visible progress on work that matters. Most workplaces are feedback deserts. You finish the day unsure whether you moved anything. So do not wait for the world to notice. At the end of the day, write down three things you advanced. Small is fine. Momentum is the point. You cannot install motivation. You can make progress visible enough that it returns tomorrow.
