We had a recruit that told our HC they were seated in the back row of the plane on the way to an OV and our HC MF’d us in the parking lot and made us sit in our rentals instead of sitting with everyone at dinner 🙃

Asked a P4 GM to give me his top 5 QB’s returning to college football next season. Here was his list: 1. Sam Leavitt (LSU) 2. Dante Moore (Oregon) 3. Arch Manning (Texas) 4. Brendan Sorsby (Texas Tech) 5. Byrum Brown (Auburn) Thoughts?

I got hired 5 years ago by On3/Rivals to be a national scout and rank players. I worked in scouting at LSU, Baylor, Texas A&M and was the Director of Scouting at Texas Tech. So my background as an evaluator is nearly 12 years total with experience at the highest levels of CFB.

I get these prospects in my inbox. I give a film review (about a paragraph or two), scoring on 10 traits with explanations for each score, and then about ~500 words in a scouting summary that explain what I saw from an athletic, technical and projection perspective. Then a list of areas to improve, and areas they excel, and a player comparison. And then I call the coach to get an idea of who the kid is, how they work, how are the grades, how’s his support system, and how he feels about the kid and his ability in general. Then we send it off to them.

That all comes from me, not AI or anything outside of my brain. I really do take pride in my work with these reports because I want to firstly, be right. I think as evaluators we all want to do our best to be correct in our projections and recommendations. And secondly, genuinely give my advice and opinion on how I feel about the kid as a prospect and how I would go about the recruiting process, especially as someone who has been tasked with evaluating/offering/recruiting prospects for college teams. Will I always be correct? No. Will I have a kid I grade as a D2 prospect end up as a FCS signee? I’m sure that’s very possible. But will I always give my GENUINE opinion based off of all the information I can possibly gather in order to give the kid, his family and his coach the most authentic response I possibly can? 100%.

Is the kid I evaluate guaranteed to become a 3-star? No, those are primarily reserved for prospects who we expect to sign at the FBS level (with some exceptions of course, like someone who has the ability to be recruited by G5 schools but maybe ends up signing FCS). But are they given a grade that coincides with the level I projected them to and that grade is able to seen by anyone that goes to the Rivals On the Radar page? Yes.

Ultimately, if someone wants to pay for what I have always felt is a consultation from an evaluator, they can do that if the price is reasonable for them. It may not be what they want to hear, and it may not end up getting them a 3-star rating. But it will give them MY honest opinion, recommendation and advice.

If you think it’s worth $500 to know what I think your future is as a collegiate prospect? Go for it. If you don’t? I totally get it and understand.

Attached are some reports I’ve done, if you want an example of what they are getting in return (coach interview notes go directly to the player, not for public). These are profiles of prospects you can find on the Rivals On the Radar page. https://www.on3.com/rivals/rankings/radar/football/2027/

CFB needs to implement the transfer system that clubs have for international soccer. If a G6 team signs a player out of HS and a P4 team wants to sign them out of the portal, they should have to pay a transfer fee and agree to terms with the G6 program AND the player 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ohio State QB commit Brady Edmunds getting loose in warmups. Tons of velocity on the football on a prototypical frame.

R Mason Thomas was a juiced-up EDGE rusher coming out of HS whose tenacity and motor were impossible to ignore on tape. His bend and get off allow him to terrorize opposing offenses off the edge despite his lack of prototypical size.

I know we are in a wild state of coaching carousel conversations, but I’m starting to see a lot more discourse saying that there aren’t enough “quality candidates” available for upper-echelon jobs. That being said, here are the top 15 teams in the most recent AP Poll and their coach’s résumé prior to taking their current job… No HC experience in CFB: 9 total coaches P5 HC experience: 4 total coaches G5 HC experience: 2 total coaches

Florida DB Lagonza Hayward having some extremely bright moments in today’s game. Someone who had a versatile skillset coming out of HS with a strong physical and athletic profile.

It’s sort of a catch-22. Obviously nobody WANTS to encourage kids to lie about their HT/WT. But I can tell you right now, unless it’s verified by the school or a legit camp, every school reads unofficial HT/WT and drops it by 1.5 inches and 10 pounds if they’ve never seen them.

In a loaded tight end group in the 2027 cycle, Seneca Driver might be the most ready-made option of the bunch. At 6’6, 240+ pounds, Driver has rare athleticism and ball skills for a prospect of his stature.
